This is a popular spot for locals, so be ready to spend some time finding parking in their tiny lot. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Their burger is sourced from a local farm and from what I was told, it was delicious. As for me, I got the prime rib. There was a decent amount of fat, but still lots of meat. This is not on the daily menu, I ordered off the Saturday specials menu. The roasted butternut squash was okay, some pieces felt undercooked. Overall, cute place to grab a quick bite to eat if you're ever in town.

I stop at McCarthy's Pub once or twice a year on the way home from my vacation house. I am always satisfied. Tonight I had bbq chicken wings for an app. Well sauced, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Nicely done. I had the fish and chips for an entree. The fish was crispy and fresh! The shoestring fries could have been a little more crispy, but they were house made. I liked the cole slaw because it included a hint of horseradish. I had never had that in cole slaw before, but it totally enhanced it. Service was great and it was a busy, hometown, local pub atmosphere. It was also nice to watch football on the various tv's. Not too crazy because it was after the Pats game had ended. Nice place!

    Come for the wings!!

Best service I've had yet in MA. Found this place on Yelp, not from the area and seems like everyone there knows each other. Really good community. My two waitresses were beyond perfect, food was amazing, can't make this up! Good food and great great staff. Will be back!

Food is sub-par. Nothing special. Staff is painfully slow. About the only good thing about the place is that the Guinness was fresh.

We sat at the bar, which had ample seating, and there were also tables and two lounge areas in the back. The bartenders were helpful and have no problem recommending drinks based on your likes. The hostess, who was on was very new, and I don't think she fully understood what I was asking. She ended up telling me that, Yes it was a normal beef Wellington. Cool, so excited, don't see those often. We get there, I order it because I already asked for clarification and didn't think I'd need to ask a second time. As we were waiting for our food, I saw some dishes come out from the table across from us and the waitress said, "Here is your beef Wellington". I realized that it was a concept of beef Wellington, but not a traditional beef Wellington, which is what I'd been worried about. We hadn't seen our server in a while so I went over to the bar and let them know that I wanted to cancel my order because it just wasn't what I wanted and the price tag was $60. I've been willing to pay that if it was what I had my heart set on, but it wasn't. They said they would cancel it. In a little bit, someone then came over, not our waitress, to tell me that I will be charged half of the price of the beef Wellington because I canceled it and it was already made. And of course, I was not OK with that. I once again explained to them that I had called and asked if it was a traditional beef Wellington and was told that yes it was. They said that the hosts are not trained on the menu so they cannot answer questions on them. I then asked what is the point of having someone who is untrained on the menu answer your phones because sometimes people are going to ask questions before they choose to come to a restaurant. I refused to pay the $30, she stated she would have to call the manager back because the manager was not on premises that day and see what she could do. In the meantime, they brought out the beef Wellington that they made and tried to entice me to eat it and I of course said no thank you. Finally, they told me I didn't have to pay. I ordered the stew appetizer. It was very small but tasty, and I was pretty hungry at that point so I'm glad I ordered it. Not sure I'd try this place again, but maybe if I lived closer. Not having a manager on premises really made it tough, it was a massive waiting game to get an answer, and I've never heard of a place blame the customer for their knowledge gaps. I definitely will not be going out of my way to come here again.
