I had lunch at McCormick Deli & Catering, and while the food was good--even though I didn't get exactly what I ordered--the service left much to be desired. My biggest issue was the wait time and the lack of empathy, concern, or attention given. I watched four people who ordered after me receive their food and leave before I even got mine. Eventually, I went back to the register to check on my order, only to find out I had been completely forgotten. Keep in mind, I was at work, wearing a high-visibility vest, standing at 6'3" and 300 lbs--you can't exactly miss me. When I finally asked about my order, I was told it would be ready in 30 seconds because they were waiting on fries. No apology, no acknowledgment of the delay--just a cold response. I understand that mistakes happen, but between getting the wrong order and receiving poor service, I can't justify spending my money here again. Unfortunately, it's a no for me. read more

(of Jacksonville legend) introduced me to the BBQ side of the menu. If I recall, Wednesday's are when the giant smoker unveils itself. A no-nonsense deli with chalkboard menu specials changing daily. Wife and I came today for the first time and were impressed with the quality of dishes. Brisket was moist, had a 2-3mm smoke ring and the bark was good. Cole slaw was one of the best I've ever had - and the green beans weren't soggy, as they tend to be in many places. SO good! Close to I-10 (easy on and off. There was a line and a 15 minute wait; it was a nice break from the car.) The people were nice and the food was delicious! We had the Reuben sandwich & Blackened Redfish Sandwich, both with a side of crispy French fries. We will make a point of stopping here again. read more

Iwillhave tosay that this is areal hidden gem. I was leaving homedepot and saw this place and said why not.so in I went. Theypungladyatthecounterwas super nice and quite talkative. She talked about all sorts of stuff and even some words about food. Their food too.she told me they had the best fish sammiches in town. She then said they had a cobia sandwich neighbor stopped her there. Cobia ha you dont catch them here. So I ordered it and the owner brought it out to me. She comeback after I finished my sandwich an asked how I liked it. Well it wasverygood and it was even real cobia. I told her I have found a good amount of places that don't serve what they say when it ones to seafood. We had a good talk about food and I found out her husband does a lot of smoking meat. So I'm all over it smoked meat is one of my favorite things to do on weekends. I really know where I eating tomorrow when he smokes up a storm. See ya soon. read more

For weeks my coworkers were telling me Mccormicks had amazing BBQ and coleslaw. We finally got a chance to go and wow it was delicious. I had the rib meal with coleslaw and Mac n cheese (it also comes with toast and a drink). First off the ribs were massive and meaty well seasoned and tender. A good tip is to get sauce on the side because it can get messy. The Mac n cheese was good, but the real star was the coleslaw. I hate coleslaw, so when I was told I had to try it I was worried but I took the chance. Wow this was like no coleslaw I have ever had it was fantastic. The food came out in less than 10 min. There were lots of seats, and the staff was very friendly. I can't wait to come back and try their sandwiches and chicken salad. read more

I'd heard great things about McCormick's, so I figured I'd give it a try. I went with a coworker today and they knew her name, the time she normally comes, and who she normally sits with...so I knew customer service meant a lot to them. I ordered roasted chicken, mashed potatoes (with gravy), and green beans. My total came out to 8.59! Didn't even realize a drink and roll were included. By the time I made it to our table with my drink and utensils, my food was already there. It was pretty tasty as well. Not only is the food and customer service great, but the atmosphere is also. This place is not good, sorry. We had the ribs (pale and fatty) and brisket (very fatty and not crispy) with two sides, which were baked beans and coleslaw. The slaw was simply cheap lettuce smothered in mayonnaise, nothing else. No flavor, no character, no umphh. Extremely disappointed and I really recommend you save your money. This is your typical deli restaurant. The food is solid and the staff is friendly. It is fairly quick and very close to our office, so that makes it a good lunch spot for us. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. The roasted chicken is great. read more

This is a decent little place that I don't get to eat at very much. They're only open when I'm at work, so I've only eaten here twice. I had their BBQ once and a BLT once. Both were OK. Found this little place on yelp, stopped by for a bite and was not disappointed. I had the burger, great, tons of flavor but a little over cooked. However, the flavor was so on point I didn't care ate the whole thing very unusual. He had the fresh BBQ special on Tuesdays said, " loved the bark that was developed." All in all it was a great experience, the staff is amazingly friendly and for both our meals and a sandwich to go was less than $30. read more

It is an easy access point from the freeway and the quality of the food is very good. My wife had the fish sandwich (Monday's special) and I had the Cuban sandwich based upon a previous review. Both were excellent and did not disappoint. I was torn because the fried chicken was also on special, however I was hungry for the Cuban. It looked as if the chicken was done perfectly and they had ran out of the chicken just after we arrived at 12:30, so it must be a local favorite. Highly recommend eating here based on the food quality. read more

I would give this -1------ NOT WORTH TIME AND EFFORT.. We get there and stand in line to place order and the waitress takes a call and puts the caller ahead of us. I thought it was a little rude but didn't bother me all that much. She should have put that on hold. I'm in customer service and have always practiced that the customer in front of you is most important. Anyway, we proceed to order and my husband goes to pay with his AMX card. The girl then tells him they don't take that. He told her he always pays for his meals there with this card. She told him no he didn't. They went back and forth for a few seconds and he decided to pay with his debit. He was short with her at this point but I wouldn't call it rude. He then commented to me that we wouldn't be back going back there. We go sit down and the owner/manager/cook ?? comes over to us and said that "he heard we wouldn't be back and asked did we want to start that today?" Well now I'm pissed. I said "yes I do believe we do". He said they would not tolerate rude behavior. Well they better look in them mirror then. I told him we didn't tolerate rude behavior either. They basically called my husband a liar but we are the rude ones??? Please...... so, we go up to counter to get our debit card refunded and he doesn't know how to work the credit card machine. He keeps asking for help but no one comes up there. WELL....My husband then produces a receipt where we ate there before and low and behold it was paid for with AMX card. STILL NO APOLOGY FOR CALLING MY HUSBAND A LIAR. He eventually gets the refund to work but is still being a jerk. AND SORRY BUT THE FOOD ISN'T SPECTACULAR ANYWAY SO NO LOSS.
