We showed her the app showing that the order was complete, we showed her the emailed receipt and we showed the charge on our Amex bill but she wouldn't give us the food and claimed there was nothing she could do because she didn't see the order on her end. This is your standard McDonald's. The parking lot is nice and tidy and the inside of the restaurant is clean. It's on the smaller side and not as much seating as the McDonald's in Danbury but it's a similar setup. We ordered on the screen and had the food delivered to our table quickly. Food was hot and fresh and the service was friendly. The only bad part was that they had a smoke detector or something that needed a battery and there was a loud "beep" that went off a couple of times a minute. I feel bad for the workers who had to hear that all shift! I'd say this is a solid, reliable place. read more

I ordered a cup of coffee and a filet of fish at approx 11-something PM on a Saturday night. It came to $6-something I drove off and tried the coffee - it was not hot - barely warm. I threw it away at a gas station later on. It was a total waste of $. The filet of fish sandwich was good. I was highly disappointed with the coffee to say the least. I would say, Meh. But that's overstating it. After you have been to other McDonalds and they are much like this one. Packed with very long lines and the wait is never worth it. But at least at this McDonalds I get what I ordered. The other's in this area get that wrong more than they manage to get it right! Unreal. So this one gets the free pass for being at least better than that. Do not get your hopes up though and the lines! OMG you may need a snack to take with you while you wait in these lines. The are New York sized lines. I suspect the lines have more to do with folks thinking I better stop at this one because there is a huge drop off if I don't. It is still a case of you know what you are going to get when you go here and the prices are in no way cheap or special. McDonald's is getting more and more disconnected from its customers by the day, so the bad experiences I saw on the McD's Facebook page are not the exception. Based on my recent experience at a McDs near Brewster, NY, they don't even want to interact with their customers in person any more, but just want you to use their ordering machines and pick up your order. I stopped at a McDonalds on Rt 22 in New York, to buy a fish sandwich. I went up to the counter and the people behind the counter looked a bit confused. A young lady came up behind me and told me that I should use the machines that they have set up for people to place their order. I politely told her that I didn't want to. I just wanted to order my fish sandwich, hand the server my $5 bill and leave. She again asked me to please use the machines. I decided not to be as detailed in my reply, so I simply said, "no." She again asked me to please use the machines. I again said no. She again asked, so I told her that I was simply going to say another simple word and said " goodbye." She told me to have a nice day and this McDonald's staffer watched me walk out the door. I enjoy talking to the servers, sometimes playing a little and want more out of a business than "use this machine," stand in a different line to have some call out your number and routinely tell me to have a nice day when they hand you a bag of food. I was amazed that they would let a customer leave rather than take an order in person. Instead of a person taking orders, they have a person directing people to use the machine, refusing to take an order and cash from a customer. Really? Okay, I am done venting... at least here. I will post this on Yelp and a number of other review sites. Any company that would intentionally let a customer with cash in his hand walk out the door because he prefers human interaction to the inconvenience of having to dig out his credit card, stick it into a slot, wait for it to be recognized, drill down through a menu to find the simple fish sandwich he wants, key in his PIN or ZIP code, wait for it to be approved then take a slip of paper to stand in a different line and be handed a bag of food will no longer be my go-to place when I travel. She was polite when she told me have a nice day, but seemed to agreed with me that if I didn't want to use their machines to place my order, I should leave. read more

This is the worst McDonald's on the McPlanet, thanks to manager Miriam. She's always rude and always seems to want to be somewhere else. On today's visit, I asked for a sweet iced tea. The sign said $1.29 for a small, medium, or large. She gave me the small and I asked for the large. She wanted to charge me an extra 11¢ for it. A concerned employee told her she was wrong. Miriam rolled her eyes at us and the employee brought us the tea. I asked the nice employee whether Miriam was the manager and she said yes, clearly unhappy about Miriam and her ways. This is absolutely the worst McDonald's on the east coast, and I'm pretty sure, I've been to them all. Two managers are rude, never smile or say hello. Food is usually gross. Restaurant is dirty. Fries are always old or over salted (I've seen on several occasions two or more people salt the same fries). Flies all over the place. No such thing as climate control and the worst???? You will wait forever for his horrible food. They focus solely on the drive thru. Have four people working the drive thru while one of them occasionally puts an order together for the inside customers. Not enough servers. Owner needs to get here soon. Full menu is not displayed and employees are unfamiliar with their product. Ordered 2 bacon clubhouse burgers. Employee checked to make sure they had them, yet when I got home I had 2 completely different burgers. Was disappointed and annoyed. Checked reciept and was charged for the more expensive burger and given 2 quarter pounder deluxes instead. Not worth the hassle to drive back. Tonight he was not here and I waited 20 minutes for a salad (which was pre-made!) and a chicken nuggets Happy Meal! Unacceptable! Then they bag it up and hand it the me and I asked for a tray and cups for our drinks ( which the girl putting the order together forgot) because we were staying, not taking it to go. Nobody bothered to ask that, either. May I also add that we got here at 7:50 pm and there was NO ONE sitting and eating, but a lot of people waiting for their orders. All the people working in the front of the house were just standing there with their backs to the customers, waiting for the food to come out. Then the girl would just call out the order number when it came out and just place it in the counter- no "thank you", no "have a nice day", nothing. The McDonalds in Carmel puts this place to shame. They hire local high school kids who are happy to be working and they are all so pleasant and polite. With the exception of the young manager Tyler who befriended is a few years ago and we watched him move up the Management, most people who work here are not very friendly. It's a shame. read more
