2.5 stars I'm from West Covina and at about 1-2 times a year since the early 2000s, my family and I stop by this McDs on our drives to and from Santa Maria. Very convenient for a break and right off the freeway. Bathroom and restaurant in general were very dirty but have gotten cleaner over the years so that's good. Orders do take awhile longer than other Mcds. Nice to see they have free wifi. More stars if flow of taking orders was quicker. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I did curbside order at 8:43 PM. 25 minutes later I walked up to the drive through window to ask what was taking so long. I asked a guy in drive through, then he turned to a lady that seemed to be the manager. She told me that she didn't have the order, I tried to show her my phone that I had been charged. This lady could careless about what I had to say. She didn't show absolutely no interest to help me out. We were on our way to Nights of the Jack, and decided to pass by to get some to eat after an hour drive with our kids. We used to love this McDonald's and we stopped every time we were headed east on the 101 from Agoura Hills. The last two times we stopped we left without buying anything because the touch-screens were not working and there was no one at the counter to take our order. I did try waiting in the back of a line for the counter, but I finally gave up when it became apparent that no one was going to take our orders. Went in the drive through with two cars in front of me and it took more than ten minutes to get to the window, and then another long wait for my simple order to arrive. I had ordered a Barbeque Ranch Burger for a dollar to try something new. The order taker/server was joyless and unfriendly (and very fat & ugly too, but that's beside the point). When the food finally came the troll-like server handed a very light bag through the window while looking in another direction and blabbing into her headset. No eye contact. By now, 15 minutes had passed. I got on the road, took out and unwrapped the cold "burger." It was just a hamburger bun with some flat tortilla fragments and some weird sauce... a very poor imitation of food. It was actually almost repulsive, but I thought, "well, for a dollar, I can't really expect very much." I frequent this location often and have learned to CHECK YOUR BAG before leaving the drive-thru. Yesterday I ordered during breakfast hours an egg McMuff combo, ck my bag before driving off-no hashbrowns (again) so I tell man at window, get home and see they also gave me wrong sandwhich, JHC! I can't tell you how many times I've ordered a simple breakfast combo and got dicked on my HASHBROWNS!!!! Only 2 items go in the bag-a sandwhich, and a hashbrown-do you have a shortage? Are they made of gold? No how can I help or how are you?...okay..and then I ordered a large drink, thinking it was a dollar, since there new saying is "home of the dollar drink". And they said it has ended yesterday. Real convenient just off the freeway,so if you're traveling west or east and want a bite and don't want to get off well swing by. Plenty of parking, located in a large strip mall. Needed to get lunch on my way to Long Beach from Santa Barbara and used the drive-thru. Went pretty fast with only two cars in front of me. The exit is kinda weird since you have to go around the restaurant again to get the light that takes you back on the highway. How can I spend 30 minutes going through the drive through and still get cold food? Once I finally made it to the window, the guy takes my money then disappears for a good 5 minutes. I figure, "if he's making it now, wtf was the reason for me ordering 20 minutes ago 30 yards back?" Apparently, though, my food was made when I ordered it 30 minutes prior because it was just barely above room temperature when I attempted to eat it. I don't like McDonalds to begin with. I'm upset with myself that I order this "food." I say, "food" because I don't regard it as real food. Anything that doesn't degrade and mold refuses to grow on can't be real food. Feeling hangry and stuck in traffic during rush hour, I suddenly started craving McDonald's and decided to get off the freeway for a quick drive-thru pre-dinner snack. The wait was pretty long for 3 cars (~10 minutes). Staff seemed relatively nice, but... they forgot to put napkins inside my bag :( I realized it when it was too late, and my hands were covered with oil and salt from the fries, and I had dressing on my face. Feeling desperate, I decided to rip up the bag to use a piece as paper towel. Then it dawned upon me that there was salt at the bottom, and that all came out when I ripped the bag in attempt to wipe my fingers and my face. A 2 hour drive later, I finally got home and had the chance to clean up. Wow, I have never been prompted to leave a negative review until today. First of all my friend tries to order the 2 crispy chicken sandwich deal. He is handed 2 spicy Mc chickens, ok so he received the wrong items, usually this is would be inconvenience, BUT they refused to refund us, and said that he would have to pay full for the correct items. I like McDonald's food. I want to make that clear before this. A few nights ago it was 10:58 pm and I was at the drive through because I wanted a sweet tea, and the lady on the other end of the speaker told me they were closed when clearly they close at 11 pm. So we argued for a bit over the speaker and then I drove away. I was planning on not going back but then today I did. Then I was faced with subpar service, a funky tasting French vanilla coffee, and a McDouble with old cheese. I rarely ever post reviews about any places. And I really do enjoy the food at McDonald's. I am only giving 1 star because Yelp forces you to give at least one. I first want to state that I typically spend at least $20.00 to $50.00 plus a week with your company. With that being stated that means I spend approximately $1,040 to $2,600 plus a year with your company. I realize the might not be much, but like most customers I know how social networking works as well as the rules of 10. I am intelligent enough to know that equates out to $15,600 to $39,000 total spent for the last 15 years (since I was 20). Plus the lost revenue from me in the future. Now to tell you my experience here, I went to this location twice in the same day. First in the morning where I spent about $15.00 in the morning buying breakfast for my kids. We did not receive napkins for their food which was odd, but life goes on. I then took my kids back to this location that afternoon to order them Mcflurrys so they can have some ice cream on our way home while in traffic. I also decided to order a grilled chicken sandwich with American Cheese instead of Swiss Cheese for myself. I was informed by the order taker that there would be an additional charge of $0.35 for American Cheese even though the Swiss Cheese was not going to be used. I told her that is ignorance and I would not be needing the chicken sandwich. (It does not take a rocket scientist to realize that American Cheese is cheaper than Swiss Cheese). I then went to the window to pay the $3.89 for the Mcfluurys. I went to the next window to get them and practically had them dropped on to me. Once again NO NAPKINS! The manager (Maria, which I doubt is her real name) quickly ran off to get more orders ready with the window open. I yelled into the window asking for some napkins. Every employee heard as they all looked at me and then went back to their task to act like I was not heard. Then Maria said something in Spanish and all the employees looked at me and started laughing. When she came back to the window and handed me the ice cream cone for the car behind me, I stated that I already had my order and needed napkins. She said How come? The obvious answer was I just bought Mcflurrys for my kids and they need them. She laughed and said it is now McDonalds company policy to no longer give napkins when someone buys a drink or ice cream. I told her I needed napkins and did not care about your new policy. She said no so I stated I wanted to talk to the manager. Once again she started laughing and telling me I am the manager so what now? What now is my thought!!! I spend how much money with this company a year and now your policy is no napkins. She finally gave me the napkins after I asked her if this location was a franchise or corporate owned store. She stated it was a franchise and I told her I wanted to speak to the owner. Again she laughed and said no, he is in the back. I told her I would gladly put my car in park at her window and block the drive thru. She told me to pull forward and I told her no I would not. I wanted the owner, she said now he is not here. I told her you just said he was in the back. She went to a register and printed a receipt and told me to call him the next day. I asked for his name and she said I do not know it, but park over there and he will come now. I told her to have him come to the window. She said no, but his name is Avvas. (I seriously doubt that)! So, I finally left upset and irritated with your company. I have now decided that the money I spent at McDonald's will be best spent at your competitors. By the way, I told all the guys I work with not to eat there anymore as well as told them why. One of the 15 guys I work with went to that location today (Dec 4,2012) to buy a Mcflurry and was given napkins, (he is Hispanic). Now I must assume that Maria was only telling me part of McDonald's no napkin policy. Apparently for Hispanics your company allows napkins to be given at purchase. However, for White people, like myself, your company policy is to NOT give napkins with the purchase of Mcflurrys. I am writing you this letter so your company can choose to quit losing loyal customers like myself. Your company policy of hiring managers who laugh at customer and basically tell the customer to go screw themself is unacceptable. To make a policy that does not allow napkins to be given to customers is ridiculous. While it is a business choice, it is a very poor business choice. The fact that to substitute another type of cheese that actually cost less does not make good business sense either. While I am only 1 out of the billion plus that your company proudly boasts it has served. I am one in billion who will not be back from this substandard of service. I will be posting this letter on Facebook, Yelp, Yahoo reviews, if I can access the McDonald's Facebook page I will proudly post it there too. Not very clean - the high chairs were filthy. Food was not great by McDonalds standards. Ordering and picking up food was a chaotic mess. Empty tea canisters, but nobody cares. People behind the cash register seem to have a real attitude problem. If you hate your job, go elsewhere. Until then, you need to do the job you are paid for. Go to the McDonald's in Woodland Hills and see how it's possible for someone to work in a McDonald's and still be pleasant people. McDonalds is supposedly considered fast food. That was not the case this time. There was only 3 cars in front of us but it took us 35 min to get our food and leave. When we got to the window to pay, the employee asked us what we ordered. This is a red flag already. Then we sit at the window waiting for our food for more than 10 min easily. It was very obvious they started making our food after we told them at the window. I personally think its a joke that they are going on strike. They do not deserve $10+/hr. Anyone can do their job with no education needed. If the prices go up to pay for the employees, I could easily stop going and go to subway for $5.00. It's much cleaner and healthier anyways. Servers at restaurants only get paid minimum wage and there is a lot more skill needed in their job compared to fast food work and yet fast food thinks they should get paid $10/hr?
