Camping at Clearlake means a visit to this McDonald's location. This is our pit stop for food, bathroom breaks and leg stretching. This past weekend we visited this McDonald's twice and service was night and day! On Saturday afternoon while they were busy, our food came out super fast and the lady working in the dining area was really welcoming, pleasant and helpful. She was checking in with customers, refilling drinks and keeping the area clean. Her charisma and overall presence gave a sense of above and beyond excellent customer service. Today (Memorial Day) we visited around the same time and my impression is they were shorthanded for the holiday weekend and definitely missing the superstar from the day before. I could see the drive through was busy and the dining room was also becoming quite busy. Our food along with 3 other tables took a while to come out and the remaining 3 tables had left over numbers and trays that needed to be cleaned. It was hard to find someone to help refill drinks and even took a few minutes just to get an ice cream. The restroom was out of soap and needed some attention. Maybe today was just a unique situation as I've visited this location at least twice year for years and never seen it like this. Regardless, this will always be our favorite pit stop aside from Foster's Freeze. It's also worth noting in the same lot are Walmart, Big 5, a Tractor store and Starbucks for anything you might have forgot for camp or need in general. read more

The kiosks were acting up but i think it was user error but when we tried to order at the register all the workers were trying to avoid us. the tables all had puddles of water on them. the food was fine but my mcflurry was almost melted by the time i got it. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. This location is the biggest joke. The managers are terrible to their customers and show no remorse for their actions. I called to ask if they would be turning back on their delivery service and I got the biggest "No" and then hung up on. No matter how kind you are you are hit with disgust and rudeness. We've had our food have multiple issues many times and I would like to say we will take our business elsewhere but our children enjoy this on occasion. At this point corporate needs to get involved with this location and make a change. I've come many occasions where people are waiting over 45 mins for small food orders and their is no organization within these employees. I truly don't understand how this place still has terrible customer service with so many low reviews. Obviously corporate doesn't give a crap at this point and it's discussing. TERRIBLE WTF. So i was on my way to Oregon for an 8 hour drive and we went here. First, we ordered and it took like 15-20 minutes for them to give us our damn food. The food was good tho. When i was done eating, i went to the bathroom before we left and the stalls were good and the toilets but when i went to go wash my hands, there's NO mirror, and there's only ONE sink. The one sink you can't even turn to make it cold or hot it's ONLY hot water. Don't come here THIS PLACE IS SO BAD!! DONT THINK I FORGOT TO MENTION. There was an old man sitting at this table watching Facebook reels and YouTube shorts at MAX VOLUME!!! IT WAS SO ANNOYING! Also, GROSS! This place is quite different. The staff at this McDonald's will walk up to your seat and ask if you need any extra sauce, much like the service you'd receive in a restaurant. They do this for many customers, as I observed. What's remarkable is that the staff members aren't tipped, yet they still provide this level of service. I've visited many McDonald's locations, but only this one offers such exceptional service. I bet you'll want to return again and again just because of their kindness and respect. read more

We thought we'd grab a quick bite of food at the local McDonalds in Lower Lake. It was the middle of the afternoon and it wasn't particularly busy. We stood at the register for several minutes without ever being acknowledged. Eventually my wife grew impatient and tried to get someone's attention. We were told that unless we were paying cash (which we were), they couldn't help us and we had to order through one of the kiosks. So, we gave up trying to order with a human and tried our luck with a kiosk. In order to use the kiosk, you have to log in. In order to log in you need a number. We couldn't figure out how to get a number so we could log in. There was no further explanation on the kiosk, and no alternative that would allow us to log in and order. Apparently engaging in business is something they are no longer interested in. I understand that a company faced with paying premium wages needs to utilize whatever technology they can to streamline their operations and make every employee productive. So, if a company wants to try to implement technology to help them effect that end, then I'd like to be supportive. I'm not averse to technology. A number of other fast food establishments have implemented kiosks to help streamline their operations and have been relatively successful. That doesn't seem to be the case with McDonalds. I think it's ironic that the very same company that was so successful in the fast food industry, who spawned many successful franchises in their own image, who pioneered efficient customer service and proudly trained their employees to be successful and productive members of society has evolved into a rotting, festering shadow of their former self. Clearly employee training is thing of the past. The very notion of customer service seems to be a forgotten myth. The ability to even effect a simple transaction with them has become a hurdle too high to achieve. Whomever wrote their kiosk interface needs to be tarred and feathered. What a joke! Obviously some people have mastered the interface, because they actually had some customers. Somehow those people had acquired the secret code that allowed them to navigate the kiosk. Unfortunately I wasn't able to. I am somehow handicapped because I've spent nearly 50 years in computer technology. I've never seen such a poorly conceived customer interface in my life. I guess being able to enjoy a quick Micky D's is now a thing of the past. read more

I will NEVER go there again! My wife wanted a McGriddle Sandwich (no egg) and a Hash Brown, I go to the drive through and she tells me that it is $8.34 ! WTF?? Are you kidding I said to her? She said No and again repeated the price! I paid and left, getting home I told my wife that I could go to Walmart and buy English Muffins and Sausage Patties and make my own for way less and have plenty more for her to eat! This location has completely won me over. And I'm one of the most frustrating customers sometimes. The only complaints I've ever really had is sometimes new staff getting up to speed or minor order discrepancies. But me knowing I can be a difficult customer to win over am telling you that these folks here are amazing and working so hard and I I think they might actually enjoy their job.. so good job manager and good job support staff if you're an upset customer like I often am where ever I go. Just breath and ask yourself... did I give them a chance to fix the minor issue? Did you try speaking to the manager calmly? Just... so so sweet folks here. The team has great homes right now. For the last couple months I have been going to this McDonald's almost every day and every single time that Kaveon has taken my order, he has done perfectly, with a pleasant attitude, and has even brightened my day with a compliment a few times. "Meh. I've experienced better." That pretty much sums up my visit to this McDonald's restaurant. The staff was polite and my order was mostly correct, but the food was extremely slow. I ordered an oatmeal and a soda. I would have liked to have been handed the soda cup right away so I could have filled it while waiting for my oatmeal but instead I waited several minutes, finally got my oatmeal and was then asked, "Did you get your drink?" I said I had not and was given a cup that was large though I ordered a medium. The woman ahead of me ordered an oatmeal but it came without any of the goodies that normally come in/with it. She had to go back into the restaurant after getting all the way out to her car. On my way out she warned me to check my order and she showed me her plain oatmeal. The restaurant was clean and the staff was polite. The restroom was passable. I would stop here for a soda or to pee and recommend you check your order before leaving the location. read more

Worst McDonald's ever. Waited 40 minutes to get my order. After waiting for 25 minutes I asked how much longer until my order was ready to which the manager screamed at me she was doing the best she could and that drive through gets priority. Staff was rude and uncaring of the fact the lobby was full of patrons waiting for orders. Lobby was filthy food was cold and stale. No sense of urgency at all. Friendly staff, always upbeat. The order taker was very patient with me as I didn't know what I wanted and there were people behind me waiting. I came in during the evening around dinner time so it was pretty busy. The restroom was also surprisingly clean for a fast food place. They always give me free sauce when other places charge you for it, and when I just wanted a cup of ice one time they only charged me like 30 cents when other places charge you the cost of a soft drink. 5 stars! read more

Messes up my order everytime. Before you spend your time leaving, and wasting your gas driving halfway home. Check you bag, you shouldn't have to check it but at this McDonalds you have too. Usually when you go to a restaurant you are not only paying for food but the service and when I called to tell them my order was wrong once again (they know who I am by now because I get the same thing everytime and give them my name so I can go back later to get my messed up order everytime) and I get excuses for why my order messed up "the packaging is similar so it was an accident" or "All breakfast sandwiches look the same, it happens" then the Manager tells me that its my fault because I should check my food before I left the Lot. If I am paying for a service, and I ordered what I wanted, 10 times out of 10 I should have what is on my receipt in my bag. I'm not paying for a 'Mystery Meal' everytime I attend this establishment, and I know being a manager means you take the first hit when someone messes up, that's part of the job, what's also part of your job is to fins the source of why it happened and make sure it doesn't happen again. I work in a fast food place, and we mess up ONLY ONCE a day, if even that, and I can say it due to better management making sure rules and guidelines are set. We have had some problems with the McDonald's in the past, nothing big, mostly drive-thru issues. Twice we were asked to park and wait for 1/2 our order, as it was not done yet. Both times they never brought our food out and we had to go in and tell them about it. Both times they claimed we had our entire order at the window, both times we had to show them our receipt and bags of cold food to prove we didn't get our full order. Today we were again in the drive-thru, were asked to wait for the last 1/3 of our order "just two minutes" in the parking area and we declined, retelling our problems with their park and wait system. The man running the window asked for a manager to come over and she asked what the problem was. Again I explained what had happened, and informed her that one of the two minutes we were asked to wait had all ready passed, so it should just be right out, right? The "manager" said "have a nice day" shoved the window closed and left. Four minutes the balance of our order was delivered; two large orders of fries. Now here is the really amazing part; the second fries had so much salt that they could not be eaten and were thrown away. The first fries and the two burgers were fine. My question is, did this so called manager intentionally ruin the food? Well, if you have ever eaten at a McDonald's then you can be the judge. The purchase was made at McDonald's Clearlake store, store #14562 on November 6, 2014 at 14:22 at the drive-thru as noted above. Other information from our reciept is KS#13 MFY SIDE 1 KVS Order 43. One might think that given McDonald's current dwindling market share they would make an effort not to drive away customers, not to INTENTIONALLY produce food that could not be eaten and may have been so loaded with salt as to represent a health hazard to anyone eating it. In the shopping area as this McDonald's is a Jack in The Box and a Carl's JR. The burgers fries at McDonald's are not so unique that they can not be replaced or in fact improved upon at either of the other places. Finally, this rude, bitter, and vindictive "manager" was training the young man who original gave us the first 2/3 of our order. I wonder what lesson he learned from today's shift? Clearlake is a small town, we buy lunch for our employees every day somewhere here. McDonald's just lost our business, and yes, we will be telling everyone about our experience there. read more

If there was ever a McDonalds that really showed you the face of a town, this one is it. I've stopped at this location at various times while helping out my brother in law. It never disappoints me as not just another chain fast food establishment, but, the place to people watch in Clearlake. It seems to be a routine, and a meeting place for this small town. There's three men that hold court and discuss politics every morning at the tall tables near the cashier. At the middle area, there's two women in motorized wheel chairs that seem have this as a routine, too. They're wearing Muumuus, and order pancake meals. Yes, it's predictable. One time, I saw some people that were headed for burning man festival. They looked more bay area hipster over Clearlake redneck, and the conversation and backpacks were indicative of their destiny. The food- well, it's McDonalds, and the staff is more friendly than the nearby Jack In the Box. I haven't had any issues with the food. The location has much to do with this place being an impromptu community meeting center. There isn't much to do in Clearlake, other than go boating/fishing and visit the Walmart, another people watch location nearby. If you wind up in Clearlake, you'll go there at some point. read more
