I ordered the grand mc chicken and the patty was way over cooked and thinned out. Sandwich had a really bad smell to it as if the patty was really old. Ordered 2 happy meals. Worker at the drive thru mentioned they don't have any milk so I asked for apple juice as an alternative. They only gave me one and gave me attitude when I asked for a second one since I ordered two meals. I also ordered a double cheeseburger plain, Mcdouble and a McChicken. The breads were stale and on the plain double cheeseburger the Pattie's were burnt and dry and the cheese was not melted one bit. Stopped at this place on our road trip Friday night Sept the 10th . The male manager was not wearing his mask and was walking around drinking something. The female supervisor was also not wearing her mask and was not very welcoming . She was rude and came off like she did not want to be there . This place was dirty . I had to get gas on my way down to LA from San Fran and it just so happened I exited in this area of Coalinga/Turk that has a choice of gas stations and fast food places to eat. If I would have had In-N-Out or Chick-Fil-A I would have gone to either of those but this particular stop had only Carl's, Burger King and McD's so I decided to just go to McD's for a bite for lunch. This McD's is spacious but I notice that most of the McD's I don't see the 2 breakfast sandwiches for 4 or the 2 sandwiches for 5 deal on their windows advertised as much in California so I don't even know if it's offered or you just have to be aware of it. Either way I just went with a double quarter meal anyway. The quarters here they call them "fresh" and sort of mention that they're not made until they're ordered. I guess that's opposed to already cooked burgers that are stored in those trays that they just take out and construct then they're ordered. Either way besides being seemingly warmer and juicier I think they taste better and it was better than what I'm used to having regularly. I was sort of surprised though what they consider a large fountain drink cup in California seems significantly smaller than back east. It's McDonald's. So I come in with very low expectations. Like I expected a little attitude upon entering. That way I'll be pleasantly surprised when I have a fairly good experience. Haha. This location wasn't anything special. We stopped for gas and then decided it get food too. The bathrooms were fairly clean. I think we got to it right after their scheduled cleaning. Score! We ordered the food and waited quite a bit for it to come out. We check the order at the table and we're missing fries. Great. So my husband goes back to the counter to tell them we're missing fries. The lady checks our receipt and looks like she doesn't believe us. Well, short of reviewing surveillance videos of her NOT doing her job, how can we prove that we didn't receive an item that we paid for? If they did their job and verified that every item was on the tray before giving us our food, we wouldn't find ourselves in this predicament, would we?? Cynthia who took our order was friendly, fast and helpful. she assisted all the customers while we were there and provided exceptional customer service to all. Stopped to grab a quick bite on 5/22/2020. I was very surprised that none of the workers were wearing masks. Cars waiting for curbside had their food delivered to them - by an unmasked employee. So strange that the customers are wearing masks, but the employees are not. I don't know if the other restaurants in the area are taking precautions. Took forever to take our drive thru order, then once we ordered and paid for our 2 frappes we were told they only had enough supply to fill one order of the specific frappes we asked for and instead of offering free food for the inconvenience they simply said they could give another drink in its place so we got a different frappe that neither of us cared for. Won't be coming back to this establishment ever, and it should be avoided. And the frappes were made poorly, with way too much ice, and not even filled to top of the cup. read more

It's McDonald's but staff are what makes the difference! Pulled in early and read my book for 20 looked up and a couple dozen cars had arrived in lot and drive through. Drive thru service is horrible! It took 30mins to order and an additional 30min to get my food at one of their numbered stops. I asked if I can get a frapp and the drive thru worker said their machine was "broken" so I didnt make a big deal about it and ordered an iced coffee. Why lie though? I must preface this review by mentioning that I am not really an eater of McDonald's food. Don't get me wrong, I frequent fast food places like the rest of you, but usually my only reason for stopping at a McDonald's is for their drinks ($1 any size) and for their bathroom, usually some of the cleanest on the road. I've been hearing so much about McDonald's new upscale options like their new create your own burger with options like your choice of bun (brioche, ciabatta, or lettuce wrap) meat (burger or grilled chicken), six cheese options, and fancy toppings and sauces I thought I'd give it a try. So on a recent drive from the Bay Area back to my home base in Bakersfield, I decided to give this McDonalds, located on the West side of the Harris Ranch exit, a try. Well...... first off this particular McDonald's doesn't have the create your own burger option. Dang it.... I head into the bathrooms to make a pit stop and they weren't very clean. Ick. And the hand dryers don't do a very good job of drying your hands. When I finally gave up on the hand dryers and went out front the girl who'd just left the bathroom before me was grabbing napkins to try to finish drying her hands off so it wasn't just me. I decide to order their artisan grilled chicken sandwich as a lettuce wrap. BIG mistake. I've ordered lettuce wraps at In-n-Out, Carl's Jr, even Five Guys Burgers and they always come wrapped in several layers of crisp green lettuce. My artisan chicken sandwich had a single layer of VERY LIMP lettuce surrounding it, well, trying to surround it, looking for all the world as if it had become discouraged halfway through trying to cover the chicken breast and just gave up. And when I opened my bag in the car I discovered that they'd put in a large order of fries, which they charged me for but I didn't order. Disappointing experience at best. I won't be stopping here ever again for anything other than a drink at the drive through. read more

***Breakfast at this McDonald's (at least on this one visit) was a step below other McDonald's locations off the 5 freeway; their Sausage McMuffin with Egg was fine, but the hash browns tasted like Filet-O-Fish (they probably did not change the fryers' oil from the previous night); service also took a little longer than it should have even though this fast food spot was not that busy (I think they needed to drop a new basket of hash browns); the staff was fine and pleasant*** Like most McDonald's locations, this one has its own free parking lot. I'm sorry, this place was just a nightmare for me. You walk in and first thing you noticed is it felt like a greenhouse. It was hot, maybe 90 degrees inside. Of course, you probably don't want to stay outside either because the Harris Ranch smell is not the most pleasant. What to do? OK, bear and grin it, we go inside. On long trips, I usually wash my hands prior to do just about anything. So I hop inside the restroom and a toilet is out of commission. I wash my hands and soap wasn't much and there were no paper towels. WTF?! I think the health department seriously need to consider shutting this place down due to these issues. So it gets better. I had coupon from home and wanted to order a burger. The workers there had no clue how to key in my coupon and the manager, instead of saying "sorry we don't take the coupon" makes a mockery out of me. Bad idea coming here. This is convenient midway point for me on the way up from Los Angeles to San Francisco, with plenty of fast food places and gas stations to fill up your vehicle. There are rarely any lines nor lack of parking. The fare here is predictably so-so. The coffee just okay for a fast food place. For those of you wth electric vehicles and limited range, there are charging stations at Harris Ranch. Be prepared to wait...they always appear to be filled with Teslas charging their batteries. read more
