We ordered the hot honey biscuit meal and a breakfast bowl. The chicken in the biscuit had to be cooked, so it was the only food at a decent temp. The hashbrowns were cold. The lesson we've learned is that either you eat there (if the dining room is now open) or you get your food in the drive-thru and eat it in the parking lot. The 3 star rating is generous and only because of the reusable food container. It's dishwasher safe and microwavable.

We both ordered platters with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. The eggs were crunchier than the bacon. Disappointingly, the biscuit was a standard frozen foot service reheat. The winner was the French toast. And, as I paid the bill, I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. It was touted as freshly made. It was just after 8am... it was dry and unappetizing. Our food was served on styrofoam, the coffee drinks were a-okay (from a machine) and the jelly was served in packets (I'm not sure why but I really pictured sweet local jams or something that would tie back to the name and feel of the business). The bakery case offered croissants, cookies, etc. I didn't try any of those for myself so I can't speak to them. They offer a handful of small tables both inside and on the front patio overlooking the square.  The service was great - I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that here.

The small parking lot I think is plenty big, as this is a smaller Pizza Hut location. I do love these retro Pizza Hut Classic stores - as with the other I've visited near Lake Hartwell, this is an original building with the pagoda-like roof and trapezoidal windows. This one has the original booths, original salad bar and the nook near the payphone where a stand-up video game would stand (sadly missing) - even the bathrooms (or at least the Men's) have original tile. I grew up eating Pizza Hut as a kid - it was a special place back then, a destination for what we thought of as upscale dining. Of course over the years it lost much of it's charm and became buried in the myriad available dining experiences at other restaurants. I didn't know that I missed this chain until it almost disappeared, turning in to another Domino's, Papa John's or Little Caesar's. So happy that these Classic locations have been making a comeback. As with my other-location visit, I opted for a 14" pan pizza - just as delicious as I remembered. Service was really exceptional at this location with servers who seemed to like being there, they even had the classic red cups. Kudos - I'm stopping again the next time I'm in the area.
