I'm not really sure why I'm seeing negative comments about this location, maybe they are old. I'm not sure. But this is the best McDonald's I have been to. I even travel from Dahlonega to eat at this location when I want a burger because my location is absolutely terrible. I always have friendly service here (unlike my hometown location) my food is always hot and fresh no matter what time of day it is or how much I order or even how me busy they are. Used the self order service, food was fine but had to ask for a missing drink when it was delivered to my table and the order marker wasn't taken (placed back myself). Zero ketchup at the drink station, not even a empty place for it. Went to the front cashier who was sitting in a chair and asked her where the condiments were. She pointed to behind the front counter and said I could reach behind the counter to get some. After retrieving it myself I commented that she must get that request a lot, in which she replied "I don't know why there's none at the drink station", and continued to sit and do nothing while other customers self ordered. I left the gym at 10:47 in a hurry to make it to McDonald's before it closed at 11:00. I was looking forward to a high calorie meal after my workout as I don't eat enough during the day. I pull into McDonald's at 10:55, excited that I made it before 11:00 and ready to order food. That's when I am greeted with "sorry, we are closed". I am filled with rage by this statement and respond, "But it isn't 11:00 yet". He then responds with a bs message about how they are short handed and close 10 minutes early so they can clean up. Regardless of if they are short handed or not, they close at 11:00 unless posted elsewhere, and this is unacceptable. The employees could have served me, they just clean up 10 minutes early so they can leave 10 minutes early, and that is not their job. My family and I ordered 6 meals, one for each of us. The girl at the drive-thru window spoke at a very low volume regardless of how many times I informed her that I couldn't hear her due to her quiet tone. Then, when another girl employee came to give us our food, she gave us 4 drinks when we ordered 6. She nearly refused to give us a coffee for one of the meals even though that was what we had ordered. On top of that, she struggled bringing all of the items we ordered out to our car because she didn't give us the drinks at the window, which probably would have been much easier and more efficient. This was overall just a very frustrating experience and Mcondald's drive-thrus should not be this complicated. Very upset on Sept. 9th My husband and I arrive at 4:45 am at McDonald's in Dawsonville,Ga. only to be told that the manager got mad and walked out & not one employee would serve us anything. Very slow service, now you get a small paper cup for $1.00 drink. It seems I always get the last of the batch fries. If you take them back they over salt the batch they give to you. To keep people from setting up thier business in the lobby using the free Internet they enforce you must have food and only stay for an hour rule. The Dawsonville McDoanlds was recently remodeled and is very nice. Unfortunately their food is not as good as other McDonalds locations (too bad this one is closest to my house!). Their breakfast eggs are cooked in, or seasoned with, sausage (gross), the fried chicken tastes like fish, and the french fries are always so salty my family can't eat them. :-( Maybe now that the building is done, they will work on improvements to the food quality. read more
