This McDonald's seems to have issues with getting orders right. I was missing fries in the Happy Meal, my husband had no sauce for the nuggets, the table next to us had no cheese on their cheeseburger, and judging from the other reviews here, this doesn't seem to be uncommon for this location. We ate there, so we were able to fix it, but still annoying. Dining area inside is small, but the people we dealt with were nice, the bathrooms were clean, and they were constantly cleaning the dining room while we were there, so those were pluses. The food itself was fine, but getting the orders right in the first place needs some work.

no burger in my Big Mac.

Ordered a Big Mac at the Freehold, NJ location, and they only gave me one scrawny dried up beef patty on the bottom, and no beef patty at all on top. Called customer service to complain, but they never got back to me. I want a refund~!

Not your typical McDonald's store front.

Not your typical McDonald's restaurant this place tries to position itself more as a café. For example there's a large selection of coffees and lattes unlike most McDonald's. There's also some nice outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. The brick exterior also differentiates itself from a typical McDonald's. Unfortunately this location does have some issues. For example there is very little indoor seating compared to a typical McDonald's. You can see my photograph on the day I went there for lunch some of the tables were even closed which really made it hard for anyone to find a seat. Not sure why this restaurant has such a small seating area. And not too surprising the times I've been to this location there have been mistakes or mixups with my order. But that is something that is common with most McDonald's. I have driven through the take out here and was not given any ketchup or napkins. I'm not sure how they expect a typical guy to eat a burger without ketchup and napkins there's no reason you should have to ask for those things. But on the plus side I do like the design of this McDonald's and all the extra coffee options. It's just a little too cramped inside. The drive-through is not a bad option they actually have two windows for placing orders. Although if you come at an off hour only one window is open no matter how many cars are in front of you. If they made a habit of keeping both windows open I probably would go through the drive-through more often.

Maybe it's the Big Mac, maybe it's the McCafe, for me it's the sausage McMuffin with egg.

There are no cashiers, but instead several touch screen kiosks laid out for you to place your order. There is a small window where you can visibly see the cooks in the kitchen. I ordered the Veggie Legendary with the Beyond Meat patty. Not kidding when I say the brioche bun makes it better, but overall this is one of the best tasting burgers I've had. It was hard to resist eating the whole thing. The patty had bbq sauce and mushrooms piled high on it. The cheese was melty and the fresh greens oozed out. Fries were hot and crispy. Their table setup is quite interesting - it's like a doctor's office where you remove the disposable paper from the bed after each patient, but in this case, from a table after each customer that dines. We did it ourselves and it was easy. We found seating for 4 pretty quickly, but it may be tricky for groups of 5 or more to find seats together. Cutesy artwork can be found on the walls along with a frame TV that had the Tiny Desk concerts playing. Prices were a little higher than usual, but it is New Hope so that's to be expected. We asked a woman in the kitchen for a to-go box and she provided one right away. The ratings here are accurate! A really great place for burgers and fries.

A few of the misses: frozen and not hand-cut fries, the kiosk ordering was not clear and instead of a burger with the desired toppings, we ended up with the two things we didn't want. The kitchen was accommodating to provide me with a side of lettuce, tomato, and pickles I could add on myself. The burger was good but nothing too special. A little expensive for lunch.

The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. They even nicely promote all the partners they use right on the wall of the restaurant, so you know where all your food comes from. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. It came with a side and I picked baked sweet potato wedges that were really good and so memorable that a week later I am still thinking about them. Other dishes ordered were the chicken salad and strawberry salad which my friends both enjoyed. Our server was very good and didn't rush us as we were just chatting up a storm. The restaurant suggests reservations which are a good idea, especially for dinner. I will definitely be back and can't wait to put Harvest on my restaurant rotation. Sorry no photos this time... the food was just so good and we were hungry!

Tucked away in a small town, you will find a cozy nook to discover American cuisine…read more Brand: 5/5 Harvest is a small restaurant in Farmingdale specializing in New American cuisine. The entrance stands out in this borough, despite its small size. I do think that sign with the wooden background reflected the cozy interior quite well with a homey style. The country décor on the walls also enhances the aesthetics. Website: 5/5 It wastes no time, for it immediately opens you to the menu where most of the items have their own images. I appreciated the minimalistic design where the understandable font provides you with the information. The basic description of the establishment does say that they rely on locally sourced ingredients. Ambiance: 5/5 Normally, dark interiors would not necessarily work for eateries unless they achieve a cozy vibe; which is what Harvest did perfectly. The wooden walls provide a sense of comfort underneath lights dim enough to not offend the eyes but bright enough to see. Despite the cramped space, I did think that the interior fitted the ambiance, along with the smooth country music playing over the radio. Service: 5/5 The staff was quite jovial and patiently explained a part of the menu. We had no issues with our orders. Wait Time: 5/5 I did wait awhile for the meals, though we managed to get our orders without any interruptions. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Grilled Chicken Thai Sandwich with no additional sides, with a free, complementary glass of water. It has ciabatta beard containing grilled chicken, spinach, cucumbers, and Thai sauce. I do not know if the signature sauce is authentically Thai, but I will say that I could barely tolerate the pungent taste and smell. I cannot say whether it is the feature. Every other part, such as the spinach and the cucumbers, definitely complemented the grilled chicken with a juicy taste. The ciabatta bread buns managed to hold their form, even as the contents started to fall off. Worth The Money?: 2/5 I will say that Harvest brand has as much of a highfalutin status as its prices. While the restaurant reflects the New American cuisine, it does not come off as condescending. Nevertheless, I still thought that the limited menu items just do not help with the prices. For the website, I would suggest a list of all the farms and independent distributors that Harvest relies on for ingredients, and to include a backstory about how Harvest began and where the name came from. I find local-sourcing incredibly important and commend Harvest for incorporating this into their business model. Concerning the food, I will say that the Grilled Chicken Thai sandwich did have suffice within the ambiance. The wait time it took to make the meal was appropriate enough. I will say that the wait time did feel long within the establishment, especially when no one else was around. Nevertheless, the service did make the food worth the wait and the ambiance worth immersing in. With all of this being said, would I say that the overall price would bring me back? Not really. Even the complementary water could not win me over when compared to the prices. Prestigious New American eateries tend to have a focus on specific consumer bases, and I am just not one of them. I do not score low on this part out of spite, rather based on my current station and many other people. I did tip the staff and I did have enough satisfaction with the meal. Rating: 4/5 Stars I do not know how Harvest would carry itself into the future, though I can see how it would suffice as a New American restaurant. Recommend To... Anyone with enough disposable income looking for a quiet restaurant.
