This is probably the worse and yet the best Mcdonalds on the island. This Mcdonalds is located in Kaneohe at Windward City shopping center. Let's go with the worse things first. - Orders get lost often, you'll need to inquire if it's been a while. - Orders are often incorrect, always check before leaving - Orders take a long time anywhere up to almost an hour, drive thru will take you at least 30 min if lucky. Don't attempt the curbside pickup. - Cashiers are not the best, be patient Now here's the best - One of the few Mcdonalds that still has the self serve drinks and coffee refills - Great place for the senior community that hang out here every morning on weekdays - Employees sometimes come around with the coffee pot for refills to the tables - Bathrooms always open, no code needed! The workers here work hard but this mcdonald's is one of the few places to eat in Kaneohe so it's crowded. If it's been a long time waiting for your order, just tell them, your order was likely lost. the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is bc of the employee Christy; she made sure my order had all its items and was very effective with communication other than that, what the heck was going on? Put an order thru the app and received a notification 5 mins later it was ready so headed on over. Drove up and every pick up parking stall was full, drove around 4x and it was still full. Finally got a parking and realized something was wrong. Thankfully Christy just came outside to drop off someone's order, when she was done i asked her what's going on and she said they're really behind & it would be better for me to come inside. I came across her again and let her know my order number and she let me know it was wrong and it would be a few minutes. Once my order was actually ready, she handed it to me and said, "please lmk if anything is missing" And 3 items were, thank god she let me know I was given everything and left okay. So App-etizing... I don't usually frequent this part of Kaneohe at the Windward City Shopping Center but I'll be totally honest is that I use it for the convenience that they have a restroom and there's one thing much worse than being hangry is the need for that use especially when the nearest mall provided one is quite the journey and no other biz has it for you to use regardless is frustrating for this area. With that I will purchase something which is usually a Happy Meal and who doesn't want one for any age as they've been quite happy with the latest craze of Hello Kitty and Crocs just to name a couple and using the app you get $2 off is a huge deal and makes the perfect meal. It is quite short staffed along with their drive thru that seems to have a never ending line here so I decided to use the kiosk to place my order though the afterthought of using the app would've been much easier lol! There was a slight wait but nothing that crazy or long, the wait in the dining room is nice as it's clean and I was on my way in a matter of minutes. Thank you! read more

First of all this McDonald is located in the Windward City shopping center . Lots of kids hanging around after school hours and I was there around 2:45pm. I especially went there because my sister said their Happy Meals have cute crocs slipper key chain toys. We went to McDonald's at Windward City about 2 weeks ago and my son and son-in-law went inside the restaurant and ordered food at the kiosk. They waited 45 minutes for the order! I had a really bad experience with the app where it said there was an error but it took my points anyway and I didn't get any food. I submitted a complaint on the app that there was an error to try to get my points back. Not only did they email me back to get more info, but someone from the location actually called me to invite me back for a meal on them for the inconvenience! This was way beyond anything I would expect from a fine dining establishment and thus I was very impressed with McDonald's customer service and I will definitely be back to this location in the future! I don't come to McDonald's but not sure why there's poor reviews here. This location has been renovated within the past couple years, so it's modern and clean. I came for breakfast and there was a line of about 3 people waiting in front. There's two lines, one for paying with cash and one for credit card. The food came out fast and my order I received was correct. I just got a sausage egg biscuit and hash brown with coffee for teachers appreciation week! If I could give zero Stars I would! I order a large hot mocha. I get scolded.. "there's no frappes available". So I say "I ordered a large hot mocha, not a frappe".... Pause then asked caramel or vanilla. I say Mocha. They get mad and start asking real rough questions"I said what flavor" so they got my "I said" right back then she forgets the mic is on and the order taker "Mele" or something starts talking crap when I ask for a manager to help with the order since the screen kept saying all different things.... I finally get to my order pick up and she's about to hand me a hot drink cup with chocolate smeared on the sides, so I ask can she clean that and she looks and goes "for what", "why".. I said it's dirty. The manager comes and he said "why didn't you wipe it, we don't give out like that"... he said I'll just remake it, she literally give him attitude back. Then I get my drink. Since there is no CO2 I ordered a Hi-C. She hands me a cup with no ice and all drink, I had it back asking for ice in my drink. She gets mad and hands me an iced tea that's all gross and drippy and I said that's not mine.. she goes off on me---- "Why are you being so difficult".. this little girl has the audacity to tell me I'm being difficult because I asked for a clean cup and my correct drink? Another worker Cheri steps in and fixes it. And apologized for the girls behavior. I said it's not her fault and all I wanted was my correct drink..... I don't know what's up with that Kayla girl there but she needs to learn manners and to talk nicely. Also how to be in customer service - not to hand people dirty things and just take 5 seconds to wipe things down. I said to her "would you hand your mom a cup like that"... lol. She rolled her eyes and told the manager she didn't know what my problem was. I was appalled at her lack of manners and stink attitude. I hope she gets some home training.. cause the real world isn't gonna be so kind when she isn't behind a counter and she cops an attitude like that!!! Also, same girl said the frozen coke machine shuts down at 5pm for the night. I said really, I've ordered these late at night and she said "no you haven't" GIRL. Really? She then retracts the statement and said "well it's been just randomly shutting down around 5", so I ask is it broken or malfunctioning? She said "I said it doesn't work past 5".. So can someone clarify when the frozen machine starts work and clocks out?!? Does it alternate when it works with the ice cream machine? Or Soda machine? WHERE ARE YOUR MASKS??? As I've previously stated, this place has gone downhill except for a precious few workers. Now, THEY ARE NOT CONSISTENTLY WEARING MASKS while requiring customers to wear them!!! Here are my observations in the last two weeks: (I'm sorry that I don't know everyone's name, so I'm confined to describing them using racial descriptions. However, I'd also like to point out that NONE OF THEM wear name tags!) 1. Younger local woman (Filipino-looking and a little chubby): wearing her black mask on her chin; she used to give four syrups and countless tubs of butter when she was first hired (see my review of 9/11/18). Nose and mouth exposed! 2. Older local woman (Native-Hawaiian looking) and maybe new: wearing her red and black mask hanging off of one ear. Nose and mouth exposed! 3. Today, White woman, maybe new, NOT WEARING ANY MASK! I almost asked for my money back and went home, but I have TOO MANY THINGS to do this morning; doing so would mean I'd go hungry. The only workers who consistently wear their black masks between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. are a young local woman (Asian or Asian hapa-looking and thin with perfect posture) and a longtime (at least 10 years) male worker whose name, I think, is Sean or Shawn. Btw, both of these workers are also quite efficient in remembering orders and knowing how to give change. If it weren't for these two positive workers, I'd not have bothered with this review. I would've just called the State of Hawaii's Department of Health. But I wouldn't want to cost these two their jobs while DOH closes down this McDonald's and investigates. The rest of the staff may deserve to lose their jobs. read more

Everyone needs to remember where they came to eat and have a little grace. I worked here from '85 until '88, and although the work ethic has gone down, we all need to recognize it's that way every where! So basically everyone has their own chance to protest, don't come. More room for all the rest of us that understand...it's McDonalds, not some 4 star restaurant. They make decent filling foods, they are doing their best with the rolling in and rolling out staff, and for the most part they are all trying.
