Sweet Sour Spare Ribs & Chicken Katsu
    Lovey Y.

A really put together & clean whole in the wall restaurant. Decided to grab dinner here since the hubs works nearby, we used to come here religiously for dinner but stopped coming for awhile. Just got dinner recently and wow they upgraded their menus! So high tech and fancy now. They offer all types of different varieties of plate lunches, burgers, saimins, etc. My go to is usually the bbq chicken or chicken katsu. I decided to try something different and tried out their sweet sour spareribs. The spareribs was really good I wish it was a little more tender but overall taste was good! I love their katsu sauce it's sweet, tangy & peppery. I always get French fries at drive inn's because I love the crinkle fries, but this one seemed to have the shoestring fries. No complaints because they cook it fresh & it was PIPING hot when I got it. Food portions are HUGE and for the price? Dang can't beat. I feel like this is a family owned business and I love supporting small and local business owners. The cashier much older Asian lady was really nice and helpful. My husband is a very very picky eater but he seems to love this place more than L&L or other plate lunch restaurants. I'll be coming back to try their other food items on their menu. I highly recommend giving them a try. You can't beat good prices, good food & good service!

Solid plate lunch! Been coming here for years when I lived in Kaneohe. Now that I had a son, I had to show him the classics! Ordered a mix plate with beef stew, chicken katsu curry, and the mapo tofu! Huge plates and good prices! Quick with the food and off I went! Everyone loved it and was stuffed! A must stop if you're looking for a classic Hawaii plate lunch!

One of my favorite BBQ spots on the whole Oahu island!! Customer service was phenomenal, and their New York steak, Mac salad, garlic shrimp combo is a must try!! If you on vacation or just a local you gotta stop by!!

I love L&R. So far my most favorite place to grab a plate lunch. I haven't been here in almost a year so there was a bit of a change to their menu. I tried their combination plate of BBQ short ribs & Beef Broccoli today and it's almost like I'm eating here for the 1st time again. It's sooo good!

We come here once a week to pick up a plate of chicken katsu for dinner. The boys love it (and prefer it over L&L) and the portions are so generous. The owners are really nice too. Call in your order ahead of time to save on time. The parking lot can sometimes get crowded during peak meal times (this establishment shares parking with Masa & Joyce and Kin Wah, which are landmarks in Kaneohe), but just be patient as cars are constantly pulling in and out of stalls. In addition to the katsu, we also like the eggplant (ala carte), which is made Chinese-style. It has a kick to it, so if you don't like spicy foods, ask for it mild.

Great value. Chicken katsu is very crispy and meaty. Beef stew is tasty with plenty beef, unlike other plate lunch places that give mostly carrots and potatoes. Hamburger patties taste homemade with light gravy is yummy.

Always enjoy sropping at this little place. They open 6am every day so you can grab plate lunch at any time any day. They are still reasonably priced for their plate lunches and still less than most these days. Food is always good and service is quick. Grabbed 2 plate lunches after mass today which made the day Mini lemon chix with its thick dipping sauce is really good. Mixed plate has good portions and tasty

    2. Mixed Plate Teri beef and garlic chicken
    Bobby A.

First time trying this place, except for my son. I had their mixed plate, Teri beef with garlic chicken, my wife had their orange chicken and my son had their mixed plate mochiko chicken and garlic chicken. Their orange chicken was delicious, it's better than Panda's and their mochiko has a curry flavor to it, very interesting and delicious. Their garlic chicken and Mac salad was ok. I had better. Their Teri beef was good. For the Mochiko chicken rate 8 out of 10 Orange chicken rate 8 out of 10 Teri beef rate 7 out of 10 Garlic chicken rate 7 out of 10 Mac salad rate 6 out 10

The bbq beef is great! Tasted it at a party. Later had to track down the person who brought it to find out where it was from.

Value Proposition! My Teri Beef was not bad for the price! The teri sauce is on the salty side but it's a nice snack.

The gal working the front was so nice, & welcoming, serving takeout & guest eating in. Ordered Beef chow fun, pork hash & Baked charsui buns. The buns weren't made yet & would take 25 mins. Cancelled that order. While waiting I noticed how efficient & friendly to all guest this staff member young lady was! Also, the gal working the kitchen was bringing out the newly made food, working together with the front gal to have everything run so smooth. Kudo's to both of them for a job that usually goes unnoticed! Took home the food & it was excellent! The restaurant is clean & well kept!

I have been to the one out in Kapolei and the food was great & full of flavor. We decided to order the 6 pounder, which is $250 Lots of seafood. It looked great, but none of the Kajun flavors got into the meat and the food was not hot. The only thing that locked in the temperature was the crab & lobster.nothing had flavor. Poor execution of boiling the crabs & shrimp. And when we were explaining this to the manager all she offered was to give us a free desert and nothing else. She did not apologize for their mistake. She did not offer to comp us for the poorly executed meal. She did not reduce the price of the poorly executed meal she just gave us excuses and offered us a free desert. This is the reason why the Kaneohe location is not as popular as the Kapolei location. Very disappointed in the execution and preparation of the food. The service that we experienced and the way the manager handled the entire situation. Never coming back to this location ever again.

We had hit the Maguro Brothers in Chinatown and the one in Waikiki along with Ono Seafood a couple of times. Sato is located next to Marugame, both restaurants are popular and busy so lots of people standing around. The fish was soft and pretty fresh. A little different spin than the other Poke shops we like but it was pretty good. If you are in the Waikiki area and looking for take-out and something quick that tastes pretty good, drop in at Sato Seafood. As people mentioned, the area is really busy and just a couple of tables outside so best to order it to go. A little bit of a wait but not really too long.

But a solid 7-8/10. I had the grilled pescado mazatlan I think they called it. Well cooked fish. The sauce on top was a tomato based one that was really good. I thought the rice lacked flavor--you can always tell because it was very light red instead of a more vibrant red which means there wasn't enough tomato juice while cooking the rice or whatever. Black beans were plentiful, tender, and tasty. My date had the enchiladas verde. Yall. I'm not a green chili guy. I like the tomato based kind much more. But, I'm not joking here, I could drink that chili verde all day. It has this really tangy taste to it that is just perfect. I had good envy because of the sauce. Also the free chips & salsa was good. The chips were probably store bought and I feel like maybe the salsa too? If it was, they need to tell me where they get it because I loved it. The restaurant is smallish on the inside but can accommodate a larger crowd. The parking lot is cramped so if you go when it's busy, I'd recommend parking on the street and walking cuz I'm 100% sure cars get bumped while maneuvering in that lot all the time. Would recommend to anyone who needs a good Mexican food fix. Prices are typical for Oahu. 4 stars cuz they didn't have fish tacos which I was craving and the bland rice.
