We come to this location every morning for two carmel iced coffees with extra drizzle and extra syrup. This morning the second speaker wasn't working (it was on, but no sound) and there were two vehicles on the other speaker that arrived after us. Already being a little late, I drove up to the window even though I know that is inconvenient to the employees/other customers, and not what you are supposed to do. Miss Kiki has always been the one to serve us in the morning these past few months, and I shouldn't have been surprised but I was when she just said, "okay, I got you", and went on to make our coffees already knowing exactly how we order them. It was probably a little weird for her when I said that I love her because I thought it was so nice of her to do so, haha. Even so, I have been in the food industry for 15 years, specifically management and drive through window service, so I am fully aware how annoying customers like me can be in the AM. This location is chronically understaffed. I usually have to wait 10 minutes or more just to get a cup of coffee in the morning. Today it was over 15, so I left and never intend to come back. Given the volume of business they get and the low expenses they have with wages, the owners of this establishment must not be hurting for money, so I'd advise you not to give them any of yours unless you're really determined to wait forever to get bad food in a dirty environment. read more

They sold my buddy an ice-cold burger that came out @SS temperature. The employees look like @SS. This store is @SS - but I guess that's my fault for expecting anything resembling service from such an @SSS location. As someone who has worked in food service myself, I usually try to be very understanding of fast food workers... but when a location is advertised on Google, the Maps app, AND the physical location as 24 hours it's more than a little frustrating to be told they're closed - especially when lights are on and multiple employees present, including one milling around outside on his phone. This location is notoriously rough running but tonight they've outdone themselves. Worst location in Kansas City. I don't understand how they're still in business. Consistently get my order wrong, then they refuse to fix it because I didn't get my receipt. All while this was about a 45 minute process because the lines are so slow moving. This McDonald's is even worse than the other McDonald's I went to. It was pure chaos, the line was super long and I had to wait for 40 minutes in the drive thru just to pay and get my food. There were people who had gotten their orders wrong and WALKING back to the drive thru window and getting in the way of the car in front of me just to get it fixed or get ketchup! First of all you should always check your food before leaving the line to make sure everything is in order and second of all they shouldn't be getting everyone and I mean everyone's orders wrong. They handed the person in front of me a drink cup filled with only ice instead of the drink they asked for! When I finally got up there they asked me what my order was again, prepared it and gave it to me but when I ate the fries they had no salt. This is by far the worst McDonald's close to me. read more

There are 3 McDonald's that are 24hour in the area. This one gets 1 star because there are no fewer starts to offer. Thus the other 2 places get 2 and 3 stars because there's a slight difference... unfortunate to us, but for them, you're welcome for the score boost. This location however is just always going to be REAL slow. Late night they don't even mention having a credit card machine down because it doesn't change anything. Kind of like during the day. Not sure who owns this location but they need to get a handle on the service. Two days ago I came through to get a Diet Coke. The employees for no reason stopped taking orders through the drive thu then sat at a table. Here in the parking lot right now. They asked me to park for a Diet Coke. I went in to ask. The man at the counter said it wasn't his job and he couldn't give me a cup to help myself. I just walked in a second time and let them know I would be standing in front of the cars in the drive thru line if someone couldn't simply get me a Diet Coke. Before I begin my review, I just want to give you a background on this McDonald's. It is on the corner where Hogan Preparatory Academy is located and for years students have met up at this McDonald's after school wearing their uniforms and this McDonald's has been given a lot of business by Hogan students. This past year they put a ban on Hogan students saying they were causing problems. So now Hogan students either just change their shirt before they go to McDonald's or take their business to the Wendy's across the street who I'm sure loves their business. I personally had never visited this McDonald's location but decided to try the new chocolate chip frappe I keep seeing advertised on TV. I went to go through the drive thru when I realized that the drive through line was so long it was blocking cars from pulling out of the parking lot. There are technically two lanes for the drive thru but apparently the other lane was not working because an employee had parked their van there with a sign saying out of order. I waited in this line for about 10-15 minutes before placing my order. When I got to the speaker I told them I wanted a small chocolate chip frappe. I paid at the first window and when I finally got to the second window to get my frappe the employee handed it to me and I took it but thought it was strange you couldn't see the chocolate chips. As I drove off and took a sip I realized this was not the chocolate chip frappe I waited a half hour for, this tasted like a chocolate shake in a frappe cup with some carmel syrup, whipped cream and a cherry. I don't know if this was some other flavored frappe they had on the menu, but I regularly get chocolate shakes from McDonald's and this was a chocolate shake but made sweeter by adding caramel. I tried to just go with it and drink it anyway but it was so sweet (since it was technically a shake, not a coffee drink) I ended up throwing it away. Think I'll take the advice of the Hogan students and take my business to the Wendy's across the street. read more
