Here on a very busy weekend with the Oktoberfest festivities taking place less than a 1/2 mike away. Drive thru was very quick. First window, very helpful and cheery young lady. The young man at the food window was very cheery and fast. Food is typical McDonalds food. Ours was hot. Plenty of parking in the lot. Inside seemed cleaned and busy. I am giving this three stars because I feel bad for the staff, on Memorial Day weekend there were only three people working in the whole place, a little old lady making the food and two cashiers. This place needs more staffing for the customers they had. Food was what I expected. Cashier seemed brand new too, it took really long to get our food which based on what I saw was understandable, some customers behind me were getting upset that they had not been acknowledged yet and just wanted a drink, no food. This location has horrible service. This location only has a drive up window and on April 10, 2022 when we drive up in the morning and said hello the woman was rude and said to hold on. We waited for another 5 minutes and then she took our order in a rude manner. We drove around and found another car in front of us. After waiting and additional 10 minutes (literally) we left the line. It was a horrible experience. We also noted another 2 cars leave the line as well. I admit it: I love McDonald's. Despite my wife's objections, I visit McD's a couple times a week. Most all McD's stores are consistent; you always know what you are going to get. The Kennebunk location is the exception. Fries are inconsistent, sometimes cold, often undercooked, often too little salt. Chicken nuggets are the same. Sometimes they don't have happy meals. Occasionally they don't have the current toy. However, those are not my most significant complaints. For the longest time they didn't know what ApplePay was, despite having the sticker on the window. They refused to update their machines to make it easy to scan your phone. I suspect I personally trained many of them on how it worked. Younger staff thought it was cool, other staff seemed irritated and were rude. Now McD's has online/app ordering, which works great pretty much everywhere. Kennebunk is the exception; I've been told by staff it's slower, they don't like it, and often get into disputes when I've already paid via the app. Several times I've been billed twice because I believe them, but then realize I really did pre-pay with the app. One drive thru staff actually told me I hold up the line when using the app, and became irate when I suggested they should simply get training on how to use it. I don't necessarily think it's the crew's fault, and I suspect the management here is to blame. Every other McD's in the area seems to embrace the new tech; I can't think of any good reason why ApplePay or app ordering wouldn't work well here. Dominos, Dunkin' Donuts, etc... all use it to give the customer a better experience (and increase profits at the same time). McDonald's Corporation is an efficiency *machine*. It unfortunate that one store has yet to keep pace. read more

Went through the drive thru. Apparently you have to speak into the screen in order for it to work. I've been to McDonald's several times and have never had this experience. They always come on and say, "Welcome to McDonalds. May I take you order." The screen wasn't even lit up. I thought maybe it was broken. Looked for a sign saying something about it. No sign so I just pulled forward. At the window the woman told me what to do to get it to work. Seriously?!? She also acted like I was stupid because I didn't know this. Like I said, this is not normal and how about a sign explaining this to people. I know they have been given flack for this because they were somewhat defensive when I said this wasn't normal. Worst place I have ever ate at. The workers were nice, but the food was awful. The fries were soggy and cold. My burger was ice cold and the burger was all tore up. I would rate the food -100 out of 10 stars. Whenever I come here they mess up my order and the food is always old and cold. I went one time for an apple pie and they "ran" out of them, which was weary disappointing. Rarely, they make the food fresh without you having to ask. Never in my life have I been to a cheaper McDonald's. I go through the drive-thru quite often with a friend, but today I went by myself. I ordered the usual...2 quarter pounders with cheese, plain, with only extra mustard. Well, we always get it plain but it never seems to have more than a smeer of mustard so today I asked for mustard on the side. Well, I didn't get extra mustard on the sandwich or at the window so I asked the person at the drive-thru for mustard on the side. I got it, but when I pulled away I noticed there wasnt more than a couple of drops in the container she gave me so I parked and went inside. I spoke to someone who looked like the manager and told her the story and she shrugged. Really? and the person from the drive-thru said, "that's all we can give you." Right....because you didn't save any money by me having it plain and mustard is soooo expensive. So, guess what?
