McDonald's is located in a safe location off of I-35 with an easy to enter and exit location in front of Target. This facility has average speed to order as they always have a line but the employees are pretty nice. That said I'll be brief as if you've been to McDonalds, outside of service, the food should be about the same. As far as sides go, their fries are good, when hot which is hit or miss here. The nuggets are much the same way, their good when hot but I'd say that's only 4 out of 10 times for me. Be sure to ask for your sauce and check the bag as the servers miss it often as well. Their soft drinks are much like any other chain however if you like shakes, good luck. Most of the time the machines are down, just as the popular rumors state. Again, if you've had McDonald's before there food should be familiar to you. The Big Mac I generally find dry as they just don't put much sauce on it. To many times I've seen the middle bun "naked." When they have my guilty pleasure on sale, that being the McRibb around Thxgiving & Xmas the flavor is on point however it's always a sloppy mess. I'm not sure if they employees intentionally miss the target putting it together or b/c of the sauce it slides off. Either way, I wish things held together better but the flavor is decadent stupidity. Their chicken sandwiches I'd probably rate the lowest of the fast-food restaurants since they're dry, only have pickles and are small. Add that along with not having a grilled option, at least at this restaurant means I have to go elsewhere for a chicken fix. Overall, I don't eat fast-food often and when I do McDonald's is a once in a year thing for me at best and generally it's when the McRibb is in stock around the holidays. To be honest when I eat their food in about 30 minutes my body starts crashing. This facility is on par with any McDonalds so if you're craving it, you know what you're getting. However, with inflation where it is, my hard earned dollar serves me better elsewhere and that's a corporation gripe, not this location specifically.

Good morning McDonald's. Was heading to Chick-fil-A so that we can have something to eat this morning since we are on the road. Never really liked Chick-fil-A breakfast because their breakfast biscuit sandwiches fall apart in the car. so we canceled and drove next-door to McDonald's because your food is consistent regardless of the service. So we ordered the breakfast sandwich and it was on par that we had experienced in the past. It seems to be just as busy here through the drive-through. We are seven cars in and made it through with no problem at all. I think we waited less than five minutes. How is that for service. I've only been here once, but I was impressed how quickly the line went through. As far as ambience is concerned, the parking lot was clean. Every parking stall was filled. So this tells me, it's a fairly popular spot in the road.

When I asked if I could place a to-go order, he said, "Give me a moment, I'm busy," in a way that felt dismissive. Thankfully, an older woman with short hair stepped in and helped me. She was very sweet honestly the reason this isn't a lower rating. The food was okay. The fries were pretty bland, and the bun was a bit soggy, likely from the egg yolk. Big Rob's is a hole in the wall in West Kyle. It has a small town feel, bar signs, kitschy decor. We grabbed a booth and our waiter popped by immediately. He was incredibly friendly and funny. He was the only waitstaff but they weren't busy. I ordered the queso avocado burger and my friend ordered the chili cheddar burger. We agreed to split half so we could try two burgers. I started with the chili cheddar and the meat was well seasoned and cooked well. Greasy but not dripping. The chili was a thin spread as another reviewer mentioned and wasn't enough to even make it a messy burger. I did not taste any cheese at all. 3/5 for that burger. Then I ate the half of the queso avocado burger and WOW. The sweet bun with the salty queso was perfect. So much flavor! Easily the better burger. 5/5. The fries were good but they were over salted and there weren't that many. You can get sweet potato, tots or rings, but they're a $2 up charge. With tip it was a $45 meal for two burgers and one drink, my friend had water. They do charge a 3% credit card fee, so bring cash. It's a little pricey but good. It'll be an occasional stop for sure.

Understandable that you want to enjoy your break, but maybe double up during peak hours. The fourth table was some sort of staff meeting of giggling management types in button ups. I'm sure they were going over serious matters and staffing, but again, read the room and open up space for customers. Came two days in a row since it's too cold for the little one at the park . Spills and food in the play place were there both days.

Lupe Tortilla is one of those restaurants. I'm not saying it's a bad thing as one of my personal favorites (Pappacito's) holds this same designation. Over the years I been to Lupe but haven't been overly impressed. A few happy hours; some lunches. It's pricey Tex-Mex. Lupe opened a new outlet recently in Kyle and instead of waiting for tires in a lobby we ride shared just down the road for lunch. New digs are nice; competition in this area will be stiff. It already killed off Austin fave Z' Tejas. I've never gotten the complimentary beans served with the chips and salsa. I personally don't need any more beans than what's served with my entree. Wife liked it though; she's a bean whore. Bloody Mary ordered; it's like an appetizer! Her taco salad was artfully presented. I'd still want the traditional fried tortilla bowl. I opted for the beef fajita and shrimp fajitas. This is where my favorite mentioned about easily stands above Lupe Tortilla. Well done meat versus beautiful medium rare goodness. Beef fajita meat doesn't have to be well done y'all. I literally could tag nearly every Tex-Mex restaurant in Texas at this point. Back to the dish this time concentrating on the seafood aspect. The shrimp were nicely cooked but red pepper butter? Fave copycat restaurant serves their shrimp with the most amazing frothy garlic butter. Diablo and the bacon wrapped version. Lupe isn't bad but there are better options. For this visit, including my dessert of a tequila shot. May not be my favorite but it was upscale fare.

That changed when I lived in Kansas City; a place called Oklahoma Joes (changed to Joes KS) BBQ operated out of a gas station. It's one of the best places in the nation for BBQ, so with that knowledge and hungry for a decent chicken sandwich, I considered the new Sharks inside the gas station which just went up less than a mile from my house. In short, WOW, I'm literally shocked! I googled "fast food chicken sandwiches" and none of the suggestions that came up appealed to me as they've always been horrible. So, I thought, let me see some yelp reviews on Sharks Burgers. After seeing consistently high marks on burgers, I decided to try both. Before I go on, please note Sharks is inside of the Valero gas station right off of 35 across the freeway from Costco. The place is extremely clean, in a safe part of town and the employees are very nice. On the website I decided to build my own chicken sandwich and I'll mention they didn't have an option to double up cheese so I put it in the notes and it was added! I added mayo, ketchup, Swiss x2, grilled onions and mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken was slightly thicker than I anticipated while being moist and not overcooked. I think they could have added a touch more onions and mushrooms otherwise it was great. Plus, it has juices oozing out that got the bun soggy and I had no issues with that. The major gripe I had with both sandwiches is they didn't core the tomato so I gnawed on a big chunk of core, yuck. I decided to munch on my fresh tots which were pipping hot while dipping them in their shark sauce. I didn't like the shark sauce as I hate buffalo sauce which was the dominate flavor. My final item was the blue cheese burger. The beef was cooked perfectly and as with the chicken sandwich the bun was perfect but there could have been thicker and more slices of avocado. Otherwise, it's a well-balanced little burger with the blue cheese adding the funk to set it aside. To quote Pulp Fiction, it was a tasty burger (fyi - please add a big kahuna burger to the menu as I would be a regular). Overall, I was shocked about how much better Sharks food is over competing fast food restaurants. The meat is thicker and juicier, they have more interesting combinations and they food was straight from the kitchen, not under some heat lamp. I'd rank them almost on par with the "gourmet" burger shops like (4+1 gentlemen) and (extremely excellent) burgers (I hope you can figure out the cryptic message). I'll be back soon to indulge in Sharks offerings and if you're like I was, on the fence; get off and give it a try, you won't regret it.

The salsa had a good spice and great flavor and the chips were very crunchy and crispy (like fritos but airier). I ordered a small menudo and chilaquiles with green salsa and both were really good. The menudo had a ton of flavor, good spices, and the stomach pieces were cooked perfectly; super tender and no, sometimes off putting, lingering offal smells. The chilaquiles were also great and the green salsa was mild and refreshing, with excellent side of potatos and beans. I could not finish my food as I thought the small menudo would be like a small cup not a whole bowl. I had also filled up on chips and salsa and our waitress refilled it so I had even more.
