I would not recommend this location. I wasted 20 minutes of my life at this restaurant and didn't even get to order anything. A single star all over a simple shake. I tried to order a shake in the drive-thru because the dining room was closed and they were out of ice cream. I then got stuck in the drive-thru and they couldn't even have the decency to open a window to say "I'm sorry". God forbid they would even have a coupon for a small fry or something. The one item you expect to be hit are the fries! I ordered via the app to make sure my order was ready. I arrived at the drive-thru with no other customers there. First, they couldn't find my order so 2-3 minutes went by. No problem, it happens. Then, when I do get my order and leave, the first fries I eat are lukewarm, if that. Walk-in is closed so I have to wait in line behind 8 other customers now. I finally get to the window to get replacement fries, have to wait for them to be made, am handed a bag that feels full and I drive off. I open the bag to find an apple pie as a token gift, but what makes me mad? The replacement fries, a large, are HALF FULL! So, I paid for a large fries and got a medium. Interior of this place is very nice, one of the more updated McDonald's. I typically have problems with this location whenever I do a mobile order. They need to train their staff a little better with the mobile orders because mobile orders should be quick and correct. I've gotten my orders messed up here too. 3-26-2024 Approximately 9:35 pm the Hispanic girl that was in the second drive thru window that gave me my order was so rude. I asked for my nuggets sauce and she just turned around ignoring me. I waited patiently for about 5 minutes, so finally I waved and got her attention again and she yelled at me that she's getting the sauce! After getting my sauce I looked at it and one was open. So I threw it away. I called and she picked up, I asked who's the manager on duty and she said she was. I asked her name and she said something Celia or Docilly or something and I said spell it for me and she hung up so I know she was lying. Went to grab breakfast this morning. Two breakfast platters - no syrup, no ketchup, no utensils, nothing. If you're not home, you obviously depend on that. MASKS NOT BEING WORN BY EMPLOYEES. On Monday, June 22, I visited McDonalds in La Mesa on Avocado Blvd (restaurant #5579) The drive through line was extremely long so I opted to run inside. First thing I noticed was a female employee walking around behind the counter with no mask on. She appeared to be a manager. I placed my order: small coke and fries. Second thing I noticed, after I placed my order, was a cook with his mask tucked down under his chin. I was shocked. Masks are mandatory during the Covid pandemic. The female employee (manager, I assume) placed a mask on. However , the entire time I waited, the male cook had his mask down while cooking, walking to and from different food stations. Service was extremely slow. Three customers inside made to wait a long period of time. I am an essential healthcare worker. I wear a mask 8hrs a day. I know it's hard to breathe but there are protocols in place for a reason. If you can't breathe, step out and take a break. Do not remove your mask and breathe all over the food. A person does not show symptoms for 2-14 days. Manager needs to set an example and enforce PPE and safety protocols at all times. read more
