Interior of this place is very nice, one of the more updated McDonald's. I typically have problems with this location whenever I do a mobile order. They need to train their staff a little better with the mobile orders because mobile orders should be quick and correct. I've gotten my orders messed up here too. MASKS NOT BEING WORN BY EMPLOYEES. On Monday, June 22, I visited McDonalds in La Mesa on Avocado Blvd (restaurant #5579) The drive through line was extremely long so I opted to run inside. First thing I noticed was a female employee walking around behind the counter with no mask on. She appeared to be a manager. I placed my order: small coke and fries. Second thing I noticed, after I placed my order, was a cook with his mask tucked down under his chin. I was shocked. Masks are mandatory during the Covid pandemic. The female employee (manager, I assume) placed a mask on. However , the entire time I waited, the male cook had his mask down while cooking, walking to and from different food stations. Service was extremely slow. Three customers inside made to wait a long period of time. I am an essential healthcare worker. I wear a mask 8hrs a day. I know it's hard to breathe but there are protocols in place for a reason. If you can't breathe, step out and take a break. Do not remove your mask and breathe all over the food. A person does not show symptoms for 2-14 days. Manager needs to set an example and enforce PPE and safety protocols at all times. read more
