I guess people give Mcdonald's bad review because of the service rather than the food. My thinking is McDonald's exist before Yelp and most people have eaten in McDonald's once or twice in their life time. If they do not like the taste, they stop coming. If they keep coming, they like the food. Basically for me, this is the 2nd nearest McDonalds to my place. As for food, I love McDonald's once in a while. For me it is the best among all fast food. My favorite include big mac, chicken nuggets, and breakfast muffins. I also like their ice cream cone and fruit parfait. I appreciate having McDonalds near me. I can always count on it when I am on the road, for example, driving to Vegas for 8 hours. I really count on McDonalds's for its consistency in food quality. Love it. Long live McDonald's. read more

I have been coming here since I started my work in the area. Most of the time I get my coffee, service has been good to me. Its a fast food restaurant so there are times when it is busy and sometimes its very quick and easy. Overall, cleaned area and always have updated promotions. Can't really comment on the food or service since we stopped here as a 'pit/piss-stop' & didn't eat anything... ok, so we ordered a few drinks after the kids saw the playground & wanted to play... figured we'd let them 'exercise' a bit before we got back on the road. So, here's my gripe about this place: The playground, IMO, was great... multi-level apparatus w/ lots of places to climb, explore, slide, etc... much better than what other McD's have. However, it's got that 'wet puppy' stink to it. Though the kids don't seem to mind as they're having too much fun. Stopped by this McDonalds location this morning for a quick breakfast and coffee. The restaurant is located across the street from Milpitas City Hall and in a shopping center with other businesses like Citi Bank, Mountain Mikes Pizza, CVS and a large Asian grocery store. The crowd was moderate when I visited and I was served quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient. The facility was over clean and organized. I ordered an egg McMuffin, hash brown and large coffee. Right now any size coffee is $1 (good deal). Although most McDonald's don't differ one to the next, there are a few variables that can make incredible distinctions.  In the case of this particular Milpitas McDonald's the key element is wait time. If your like most people, you probably go to fast food restaurants to get an expeditiously prepared, hot meal.  In other words, you probably don't venture out to said restaurant for the chef special. As such, this McD's establishment may be found wanting. Expect a very long wait times in both the dining room and drive through.  Furthermore, if you are an individual that prefers their morning breakfast and/or coffee while seated comfortably, you may have to substitute the dining room for your car seat. The key word here is "may.". This is second to the inconsistency at which the dining room is open in the AM. Like watching a comedian bomb on stage, I somehow felt the pain of the staff whom, I assumed, must be consistently scolded by customers who waited longer than anticipated. However, one day I no longer needed to speculate on the subject because the cringe worthy spectacle unfolded before me.    My empathy was further compounded when I witnessed a, undoubtedly disgruntled, middle-aged man on his work break unleash a barrage of ad hominems toward the cashier.  This was only after a much older man waved his brittle hands in the air from frustration. His anger stemmed from a breakdown of communication second to language barriers between the two.  The cashier appeared to refund the elderly mans money back; however, despite this, he remained in the line. I can only assume, to order something else; yet, all I, or anyone else in the line, could hear was the geriatric male repeatedly saying "Stoopid! Stoopid!". Eventually, the man defeatedly shuffled away.      Although he had departed, the issues that arose with the cancellation of his transaction had somehow froze the woman's cash register.  A betting type would wager that the technical problems were a result of user error. After all the female cashier was no spring chicken herself.    The manger, in her late 20s at most, came charging up to the older lady.  The middle aged man, who was next in line and appeared to have the patience of an 8 month pregnant woman waiting to pee during halftime at the Super Bowl, believed it his place to real-time Yelp review IRL.    He chimed in right away, "Its her fault! She doesn't know what she's doing! I would be pissed if I was that old man too!" His last rant was bluntly obvious; after all, he wasn't in the old man's predicament yet he was still clearly pissed.    Another register opened up, the irate man made his order and, he didn't have to; but seeing how it was the time of giving, dropped another gem, "See, it's that simple.  That's how you take a damn order.". All the while the elderly employee, surrounded by co-workers and managers that could be her granddaughters, kept her composure. All the while my heart proudly bled a silent tear for her.    Albeit this is a negative review regarding the expeditious quality of the restaurant, I also intend it to be a review of us, the customer.    Would the behavior of either angry men have proven different if they had unwrapped the ideas of FAE (Fundamental Attribution Error) in relation to the cashier.  FAE, discovered in the fields of social psychology, state that when developing reasons for our own socially undesired behavior (speeding on the road,cutting someone off on the freeway, turning in a term paper late, ext) we are more likely to attribute the justification for these actions to dynamic outside factor.  For example, the man pulled over for speeding was just trying to get to the hospital to witness the birth of his child. However, when we justify the same behavior that someone else is engaged in we are more likely to attribute their reasoning to intrinsic and simplistic terms. For example, the man that sped past you on the road did so because he's an a**hole.     If either man had stopped and considered the circumstances the cashier was facing, elderly and maybe training or perhaps she had just received a mortal diagnosis from her doctor. Would this have changed anything?     Although I don't have great things to say about this location, I was, at least upon that visit, more disheartened by my fellow customers.  Did the yelling, whining, and protesting add any good into the world? Did it change how fast they received their meals? Did help the cashier to later improve her performance?  To all these questions, NO. Perhaps employing the often disregard virtue of patience would have done more for her and themselves then complaining by way of verbally accosting another.  We are all just human and like it or not we got to share the air we breathe. If I'm wrong on the mater or you disagree, I offer another, simpler, stance, "It's freaking McDonald's not the Rainbow Room.  Check your unhappy meal diva drama at the door!" A few times I placed the order thru the app for quick mobile pickup, ended up getting so upset because 1) I sat in the care for more than 10 mins, so I called and asked if they were going to bring my coffee drink out to me. 1st incident, they said they were short staffed. And the other time they just said they busy and rudely hung up on me! 2) The egg mcmuffin was cold and burned! When I called McDonald's corporate customer service, there was no live person. Just machine looping thru the maze of pressing this # for that, on and on. You just ended leaving a message to a machine and no one from Mcdonald's cares to get back to you!!! read more

Ok, what is there to review at McDonald's. Everyone knows that it is the most successful burger chain in the world for many reasons. But I am giving this 2 star review because of of the lady manager (she has a Spanish-accent) who usually works in the morning. This lady should never work in any customer service related job. She is very very loud when she speaks that borders to yelling. It is already bad when she talks to her crew but is totally unacceptable when she yells at customers. There was a time when a younger girl (in her teens) asked her for an extra something (a cup or a sweet and sour sauce, I am not sure) and this rude manager litterally shouted at her. This was not the first time I witnessed her behaving like this to differetn people so I couoldn't keep my cool and shouted back at her on behalf of the poor girl. I told her that she was not in any position to treat anyone like that especially the customers. Yet another review for this garbage ass fast food chain. Same location different day. So my boyfriend bought a bacon clubhouse burger today and after he ate it his stomach felt queasy. He's been having the squirts all day and throwing up. He's in bed now with the chills and feels weak. Apologizing in advance for what I'm about to say right now. I really enjoy their new hire Sarah I remember her from an old location in Sunnyvale. She's evolved so much and really knows her job. I came inside to order and watched her make orders for the drive thru and inside the store. I EVEN SEEN HER TAKING ORDERS OUTSIDE! Before my order was ready... And coming back inside so fast. I hope she can get a better position with how great she is she deserves it. And for the reason I am giving three stars is because I heard a manger yelling at her from the kitchen I believe. She was asking for something and they yelled at her to park it and to stop yelling at them but she wasn't yelling. I even heard her say please. I heard Sarah say she's parked three orders already and she needed something else first and the lady yelling back at her threw a tantrum in the kitchen. Team work makes the dream work haha.
