I don't normally eat fast food, let alone write good reviews for them but I just had to for my recent experience with the McDonalds on Main Street in Oakley. My Parents house recently flooded so I had to come out and help out with ton of work that needed to be done. McDonalds was the closest, quickest way to get something in my stomach before starting the long haul. I was greeted by one of the nicest cashiers I've met to date. His name was Michael. He was very friendly and respectful. He was patient when I tried to make up my mind on what to order, and was equally cheerful to the other customers in line. I didn't catch the name of the other gentleman who processed my order, but I'm assuming it was the Manager of the Day. He was just as friendly. Thank you for all the hard work you do. I know that fast food isn't always the easiest job so I truly appreciate your kindness that day. It sure turned what could have been a horrible day, into a good one! read more

Drive thru employees don't know how to grab money correctly. 2/22/15 was a REALLY windy day, came through the drive thru at around 4-4:10 (give or take) got my order taken by some kid named Dallas. Got to the drive through window, gave him a $10 bill (since the total was $8.03) as soon as I saw the way he was holding my money I knew it was going to fly away. As I give him the 3 pennies what do ya know? The $10 goes flying, I spend 10min looking around for it but I could not find it. So I pull up to the menu at the drive thru again and see if they could compensate for the food we ordered, he got another employee to tell me that they cannot reimburse me nor give me my meal. She said all they could do is give me my 3 pennies back, and as soon as I pulled up the kid didn't apologize and just gave me a blank look (like he was wondering why I came back) asked for my 3 pennies, then I asked him again "You guys really can't do anything about this?" He looked at me and said "No" and closed the drive through window. This was the WORST customer service experience I've ever witnessed at any of the McDonalds I've ever been to. They need to train their staff to grab the customers money correctly especially on a windy day. That's why I give this a 1/5, if I could give it no stars then I would. Super unfriendly staffs. First the checker got my order wrong, then I ask why I got charged for something I don't want and requested for refund and the manager came and list the stuff on the table saying this is the list, I didn't judge the list were wrong, I'm asking why I got charged for something I don't want and she keep saying that the list was correct and avoid answering my question and just walked away without saying anything. Went thru the drive thru. Was quick and fast. My only issue was skimping on filling the fries in the carton. Felt ripped off. Ordered a medium and it was barely half full. Hmmmmmt! Just ordered a quarter pounder w/cheese. Box says fresh beef cooked when ordered. Somebody must have ordered 3 hours ago. In and out the drive thru in like 2 minutes. Beef was hard and barely warm. On new years eve i went here to order 2 quarter pounders a sasuage mcmuffin and 2 egg white delights at the drive thru. Before i left i checked my food and i noticed a sasuage mcmuffin was missing. So i go inside and tell them my order was missing a mcmuffin. I had the rest of my order with my recipet and this lady named rose if that was even her name she wasent even wearing a name tag. She accuses me of lying to them in a disrespectful manner. And all i wanted was the food i payed for then after waiting and feeling disrespected i finally got my mcmuffin. I pretty much have an issue every time I come here. My last trip I had to go through the drive-thru 3x. My order was obviously someone else's. I always have to beg for ketchup and syrup, so I asked for it as usual on this last visit. While pulling away, I saw it was the wrong order, so I went back. They then gave me what I ordered. Again while pulling away, I had no syrup, butter, nothing for the hotcakes and no ketchup. As I went through again, the lady rudely told me she put in in the other bag and I could have taken it out before I returned it for the right food. Common problems are wrong food, missing food, if I say 4 cheeseburgers no onions, only 1 of them is made correctly (happens almost every time). I have a family of 5 and I'm lucky to get 2 packs of ketchup. If I ask for more, they hand me 1-2 more. If I say "10 please because I have a large order" I get a weird look like it comes out of their paycheck. Once I even got a burger with no bottom bun. Another time I got all the sides for the hot cakes, but no hotcakes in the container. When I went back in, the lady said "another one?". A man behind me in line laughed and said his was like that too. I honestly love their breakfast, so that's why I have so many encounters. I stop by early morning on the way to work and get breakfast for the family there on one day of the weekend. I don't even get upset that my order is wrong, it's the attitude I get when I bring it to the attention of the staff. They treat me like it's a scam similar to what another reviewer said. read more

Awesome service!!!! I Came here with 4 kids. One of which was a 7 month old Babygirl. She was playing with her rattle and she happen to throw it under the drink dispenser. We couldn't reach it so we asked the employee if there was any way she could help. Right away she grabbed a broom stick and took it out. Then she proceeded to ask if it was okay that she cleaned it for me. I said yes please and when she came back she said she had washed/sanitized it for me a couple of times. Went in this evening to pick up a quick bite for a family member.....far from quick....i was appauled at the way inside the restaurant looked. The self serve beverage area was full of spilt drinks and all the lids were everywhere...ketchup was all over the counters...when i ordered my food i asked the person who took my order to please fill my drink behind the counter, he pointed toward the counter and said he was sorry it was self serve....so i asked for a manager and explain to him that the way this looked if he thought that was acceptable to him. On the staff side of the counter, there was dropped food and something that looked like a hamburger that had been walked on and tracked thru the area. As a customer what i had seen makes me wonder, if the dining room looked this bad in plain veiw to the public...what does the back look like...Im not a person to normally do something like this but in today world i thought i could not just let this go. When food/drinks are left and not cleaned right away this is an invitation for rodents,ants, and bacteria...where people can get ecoli, and other diseases. This is no joke. I understand McDonalds has to make money, but whats in the plain veiw to the public has to be taken seriously. Ive always been a McDonalds fan but after this experience i dont really think i can go back EVER to this location. Unfortunatly its the only one near me. Located next to a very busy highway you would expect this McDonald's to be very busy... But it is not. Why ? Because the management trys to penny pinch and not follow the regular standards. For example, today a large group sitting near me, that clearly spent a lot of money, was REFUSED napkins...NAPKINS ! How ridiculous is that ?!?! I wanted to purchase the kids toys without a happy meal, as they wanted something else from the menu. Now all McDonald's have two buttons on their registers, one to purchase a toy without any food, and another to purchase a toy when purchasing other food, because lets face it, not all kids want a what is offered in a happy meal. The button for toy with food purchase is half the cost of the toy alone. I have frequently purchased the kids these toys when they wanted to eat something not in the happy meal, and NEVER had a problem...at every location the cashier has always charged me the 'with food' price, and it clearly states every time it is a with food purchase on my receipt. Today the Manager rang me up and refused to charge the food discount although I purchased food. His 'EXCUSE' was that is an employee only option to buy the toys. Funny... NOWHERE on the RECEIPT does it Ever say 'Employee' discount.... So clearly this particular location is doing so badly they have to deny customers Napkins and OVERCHARGE for a stupid damn toy.... And with 2 kids , I am not going to pay TWICE the cost for the cheaply made toys.... With 3 grandkids, I spend a lot of money at McDonald's, too bad this location wont be seeing my money much anymore. read more

Manager is rude and disrespectful. Went to the drive through with a friend, my husband, her husband and my infant son in the car. The manager(she) opened the window and threw our food at us then slammed it. She then returned and yelled "Your not going to pull that prank again, are you?" . I was so confused and my husband was as well. He kindly asked what she was talking about and she said that since I was on my phone in the backseat, that I was trying to record her and pull a "prank". After all that random drama, she never gave me my hot fudge sundae, which I kindly told her about, and she told me I never ordered one. Used the new drive thru for the first and last time at the Oakley McDonalds. After ordering and then paying for (2) Two cheese burger meals I pull forward to the pickup window. The female crew member hands me a soft drink cup that has Dr. Pepper running down the sides and her arm. I asked that she please wipe off the cup before handing it too me as I did not want soda all over the interior of my car. I received a not so nice look and then was told I had to pull around and park as my order was not ready. After being parked for ten minutes, I went inside and waited another 3-4 minutes for someone to ask what I needed. When I explained to the supervisor that I had been waiting for my order outside for over 10 minutes, she looked at the order screen an spotted a drive-thur order just sitting there. I received the order and went back to my car to discover that the cheeseburgers were old and very dry. I guess it doesn't pay to ask a worker to do their job because even the drive-thru window operator has the power to make you pay for asking them to do their job. read more

I usually go there about 2-3 times a week. Not something too big, but just a sandwich sometimes or maybe a hashbrown and sweet tea. But recently I guess they changed their policy about an "Ask Me". I never knew about this until an employee told me it would be cheaper to do it. And I was like okay, I can save 70-80 cents my every visit. But it's only this McDonald's that refuse to give me it. Lemme explain real quick, it's been a year since Ive been using this and i loved getting the jalapeño Mcchicken. But that was for a limited time only. And since the jalapeño mcdouble is on the menu, you can order that and tell them "Ask Me" and change it to chicken. It's like a loophole they don't want people knowing about sort of. But the employees here said no, while I go to Brentwood or Balfour, and SF and they do me the favor by saving 70 cents and yes SF is a different franchise, but I can use that 70 cents toward my next visit. But here's the thing now, I don't eat beef, isn't the customer always right, and I used to save 70 cents and still return to spend money on more jalapeño mcdouble Ask Mes. But here's the thing now, McDonald's just lost around 8-10 customers because my family and cousins and friends aren't going there anymore for their breaks or anything. Saving 70 cents was like a little discount for a loyal customer. Especially since it's against my religion to eat beef and there's only a beef mcdouble and not chicken. Smh. I already spoke to Corp too and they can't do anything. And I'm still able to walk into anther McDonald's and use the same method that I've been using for a good year now.
