Wow this place has changed! The manager Ruby gave me a hard time about my survey receipt so I showed her the code on my phone. Then my poor husband needed to use the restroom they told him to use it outside where the public bathroom is but it was closed. In the mean time they let a lady use the restroom in the restaurant. I went in there with my family and had to use the restroom waited in the restroom. There was only one stall. The urinal was broken. There was a guy in there for 30 minutes when he comes out it was a worker. He ended up, leaving without washing his hands and going back to work I complained. But the person I complained to kinda laughed about it. It's very nasty and not a funny scenario. read more

I've been coming here since they opened and the service was always questionable. Today. When they first opened, I came there with my dog and the girl giving me my food said can I give you a cup for your dog get whipped cream in a cup. I said sure. She says there's no charge. I said thank you. This has been going on for over two years and not just at this location at every single McDonald's location on this island today the girl had the nerve to turn around and say there is a charge for this.I said since when since I've been getting this for over two years, she turned around and a woman who says she's the manager, which I cannot believe, turns around to me and says next time we have to charge you for this. Ordered my food at the drive through and they got it wrong 3x. Got to the payment window and I could tell be the total it was wrong again. I thought it was straightened out. Picked up my food and looked in the bag, it looked ok I didnt open the burger box. hen I got home wrong again. Called the manager, and he was no help,, very rude. So I threw the food away. The people that work here are beyond great!!! I really can't say enough nice things about them. We always have a good experience here, and the food is always good. One of the hardest jobs is working with the hungry public, and I think everyone should have to do food service at least once in their lives to appreciate how hard it is! This has to be one of the first McDonald's I've ever seen that doesn't give free refills on the sodas. They don't do breakfasts like the other McDonald's do either. And a lot of the times you go to order something and they're out of it almost all the time. I don't know if it's just poor management or what but I told myself a few minutes ago I'm going to have to stop coming here. read more

The food is good for fast food meals. The service sucks whether missing food, wrong order and no apology when something is wrong. They just look at you dumbfounded especially drive thru. They forgot 2 pcs of my order and add for my pkg back. When they knew the missing items were not in the pkg, they shoved the into the pkg and gave the pkg back to me with no apology and no thank you. I will never again leave McDonald's in Pahoa, HI without checking every bit of food they hand me. If it blocks the drive-thru or slows down the inside line, too bad. Last three orders have been wrong when I got home. This time, a Quarter Pounder with large fries and a coke turned into a small cheesburger with small fries and small coke. Can't give below a 1? Over the last month I have eaten at this McD almost 20times. Every other time I go I take that time and fill out the customer survey which entitles me to "any sandwich of lesser value". I fill out the surveys as per the service that day. Today I tried to use the "coupon" for a McRib "sandwich" and told they don't accept for mrRibs. I told the order taker that I had used if 3 times over last week for a McRib and asked to speak to a manager. Ramel, Assistant Manager, told me coupon not good for "national sandwiches". I explained that coupon says "any" and that almost every sandwich at MCD is "national" with few exceptions. I asked him if he was willing to lose a good customers business over this incident. Said "no problem you can eat elsewhere" to my shock. WTH kind of response is this from a manager...who is clearly not honoring a nationally sponsored McD program. I told him it was unacceptable. He could care less and told me to stop making a scene or he would call the police. Now I'm really mad. I told him I could care less and told him perhaps I should record our interaction so his bosses could point him to unemployment line. (I went full Karen on the guy). Then he decided to really cop an attitude at which case I told him "lose the attitude". Shut the window and walked off. So, that was the last time I will visit this location where I eat breakfast daily and usually an afternoon ice tea and a few lunches per week. Lastly, I have spent the last 20 years in the hospitality industry and understand what "a holes" customers can be and I also hate customers to take advantage. I was clearly asking for something that is clear a buy one get one free "any sandwich". Didn't happen. Now let's see if management will follow up on this review and my complaint to National. In the mean time don't bother with the reviews as this location doesn't honor them. When zero reviews are filled out perhaps National will ask why... read more

Ordered curbside. Took them more than 10 minutes to get my order ready. I was the only car at curbside. Not much customers so am unsure why it took so long. Came home and then realized part of my order was missing. Had to call them to complain. Supervisor Rose Marie sounded to me like the missing order was in the bag when it indeed was not. read more

At the drive through I was ordering from the value menu and saw the advertisement for McDonald's Haupia Pie, limited time only, so I ordered one to try it out. It was $1.89 on my receipt. I got home and there was no Haupia Pie with the rest of my order, so, never mind. read more

Best McDonald's I've ever been to. Slow but they fill the fries all the way. Food is good and always warm. The seating is clean and so is the kitchen. SLOW but worth the wait. read more

4 star because usually this location is great. Tonight was definitely a change. The guy who took our order was rushing us a bit - brushed it off because maybe not intentionally. When we got our food I checked the bag and their were no fries. We asked, and she told us they were in the side of the bag. I checked again & no fries. She went and talked to another girl for a bit, asked for our receipt which we weren't given and then the guy from the other window came over with our receipt and started reading off our items to tell us we didn't order fries. Interesting way to go about that over fries that we thought we ordered. Obviously there was a miscommunication weather that be my boyfriend and I thinking we stated fries in our order, or the guy not hearing us. Regardless, I do think a little more training on how to handle situations of forgotten items should be in place. Then when we got home one of our sandwiches was wrong. :( No one was rude, just was an interesting encounter. read more
