Concept doesn't work. The kitchen can't keep up at lunch or dinner. Lots of people standing around and the staff seems confused.

Came here for an event, so this rating is based solely on the food I had during that experience…read more The staff were friendly, and the fruit we were served was fresh. The Chick-n-Minis were also yummy. The bread was buttery and soft, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I've ordered from this location a few times before and have usually had a great experience overall, so I'm a little surprised to see so many low reviews.

I agree with Mike's review and this is definitely the worst location in MOCO hands down…read more.. How is the service so ridiculously slow when there's no drive thru?? I should have did a mobile order but I wouldn't save any time... Staff here ain't friendly like Germantown, Rockville or Kentlands. ... 2 employees ( female with braided extensions and another female with a pony tail just standing by the drink station talking about driving schools etc when tons of people are waiting on their orders or orders to be taken... I finally get my food... 20 minutes.... Then I check my bag and im missing sauces and napkins?? How should I wipe my hands and mouth?? Should I wipe it on my shirt or on my car seats?? Why are napkins so sacred?? Do I have to ask? Homegirl seemed annoyed that I had to ask??! My tater tots and food wasn't hot.. so why did I have to wait 20 minutes?? Anyways this location is less than desired.. no drive through, the lobby is drab and lacks the personal touch of flowers like Rockville and Germantown. I should've gone to the golden arches.. Avoid avoid!

Ehhh...I was hoping for something better but got just ok…read more Located in Pike and Rose off Old Georgetown Rd, it's situated in a really good area. I went around 6 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty empty at the time. There are kiosks that you can order at or you can order at the counter. I ordered the 3 wings (whole) and a side of fries. I didn't have to wait long and when I got my bag the food was hot!!!! I probably should have gotten what they are known for (chicken sandwiches) but I wanted wings badly. The fries were good but could've used just a little more time in the grease to make them a bit crispier. The wings were served hot and fresh out the grease. I was expecting great and got just ok. The wings lacked flavor and could have been fried a tad bit longer for a crispier bite. I was almost afraid that they were undercooked, so I ate only one wing out of caution. I will go back, but only for reputable menu items and not the wings. Also...the restaurant was fairly clean (likely bc it was empty) but could have used a once over as it appeared that the dining floors were swept but the dirt was left in a corner; this could appear as if the restaurant wasn't a tidy as it needed to be. Overall, I'll give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Although I've seen quite a few Roaming Roosters sprout up in the area, I figured that it was time to try out the food. For my order, I went with the chicken tenders (3-4 pieces) and a cup of fries. The order was about $14 without tip. I thought the portion size of the tenders and fries were pretty good based on what I have received from other chicken spots in the area. An order of fries is about four bucks (I didn't see any combo meals on the menu), but you will receive A LOT of fries. If you are dining with someone, you might want to split an order of fries unless you are super hungry. The tenders, which have three spice levels (mild, medium and hot) will come out PIPING hot, which is a good thing. I even had to wait a few minutes to eat the chicken because the food was so hot. I guess this definitely is a good thing if you are doing take out because the food will not be cold as ice by the time you arrive home...depending on how far you live from the restaurant. Overall, I thought the food was delicious, and the spice level of medium just was what I was looking for. I thought it was kind of funny/interesting that the chicken tenders were served on a plain white piece of bread with three pickles, but I guess that's just how Roaming Rooster does it. Perhaps, the bread is there to soak up some of the oil from the chicken, which I guess is a good thing. The fries were pretty awesome because they reminded me a bit of the fries from Five Guys, which I LOVE. Service was fine. One of the workers seemed to be a bit grumpy, but the woman who took my order had a nicer attitude. I stopped by around 6/7 pm so maybe the worker was just over their workday...a mental state that probably all of us has experienced on multiple occasions. The restaurant has a decent dining area with a small outdoor section (I believe there is an upper dining area too). Personally, I was not a fan of the outdoor dining section because it shares a walkway where customers/delivery people are entering and leaving the restaurant.

Since I was not too creative, I went with the Chicken and Rice bowl. The bowl was served with grilled chicken, tzatziki, hummus, feta, Persian cucumber, tomato, pickled onion, and arugula. I thought the serving size of bowl were very generous, and the portion was large enough for one large meal or two small meals. The cost of the bowl was about 13 bucks, which I did not think was too bad compared to other places in the area. The restaurant was very clean. Although I did not take advantage of it, I was quite impressed that the restaurant had a large patio area for outdoor dining. Overall, I thought the staff was very nice, helpful and patient. I'm glad to add this spot my rotation of quick bites.

The line was short and staff were quick in making my order. The produce also looks really fresh so that's a plus. It was slightly crowded since I went during lunch time but there was still seating available in the store. It's a casual, healthy fast food restaurant so good for needing a quick bite. The parking situation can get slightly chaotic but there's a decent amount of spots to park at.
