This place has some sort of issue with the discover card. The first time it says it is decline which I called and it was not true. Today they said they do not accept it but in the window it shows they accept it???? Also the entry to the parking is a design wrong. They said both bathrooms were broken and the both the managers that were working (females with attitude) kept giving the other costumer rude comments back when they ask for restroom. I have had hit & miss service from this San Carlos, CA location from time to time! Now since my last visit I will never return. I drove up into the drive-thru to order while looking over the menu I get "may I take order" to which I say just a minute I was still looking over the menu. My very elderly 93 yr old mother is with me and admittedly she is slow about making up her mind of what she wants. Ok, this made my Sunday nite. Actually it's more funny than upset but hear me out. First they need staff, the current team is overwhelmed and just not enough people. The conversations people have are just funny.... there is another table of kids. One of them was standing by the counter eagerly awaiting his food. Another guy came over to grab his coffee, then stepped closer to look for some cream (only a bucket of ketchup packets was there). I dropped hubby off and traffic was looking unusually bad. I decided I needed some coffee to sustain me...and I wasn't in the mood for an overpriced coffee from Starbucks. (don't care if it's 40% off and that it's in EA) Found this place and thought I would be able to sit for a moment, snag some wifi for my iPad and have an iced coffee while I waited for traffic to clear up. The time was around 2pm not too many customers, ordered two lunches had to get the order corrected three times. First the drinks with the meals didn't come and then one of the sandwiches was wrong. This is the McD's I go to most often, sometimes for coffee or breakfast, sometimes lunch, and sometimes for smoothies on the way home. The parking lot is nice and big, the inside is clean, and I don't have a problem with them messing up my order or being rude. The kids like the video games (though they are not always working) and the play structure (a little small and grubby for my taste but I'm pickier than the kids.) The biggest con is that it is so busy that the line for the drive-thru is huge around noon. To the strange reviewer waxing lyrical about the McD characters, we actually did run into Ronald McDonald here. He held a raffle and gave away a lot of freebies to the customers, some of them quite valuable. We didn't win the raffle but he gave everyone something. My kids loved their plastic sunglasses from Ronald. A pleasant surprise. The San Mateo McD (with the inside play structure) is next closest but I have trouble getting a spot there (I guess we go there when it is raining and so does everyone else) and the lines are long. read more
