Always love this place for a last minute dinner for my son, but yesterday Riley made our day! My son really wanted an ice cream and we live about 25 minutes from this location and Rylee made sure to put the ice cream in a cup full of ice as a little mini cooler so his ice cream and make it home so that he could eat it AFTER he ate his dinner. I really appreciated the extra effort of him trying to think of a way that the ice cream can make it all the way home without me, melting. read more

At lunch it is always flooded with huge groups middle schoolers from up the street and they are so loud, obnoxious a running all over the place in the restaurant. Toddlers are better behaved in here. They really need to be asked to stop or leave when they are not being respectful of others. When we got the happy meal boxes, one of the box was the Olympics happy meal and the other the Sanrio box.. we were a bit confused at first with the olympics box but we were hopeful there would be the Sanrio toy in them. Interesting design inside, very city street metal vibe going on in here. I don't think I've seen a McDonald's interior like this one. I usually hit up the drive thru so I hadn't seen the remodel until today. I've been impressed with my food orders here in the last year. A few years back I wasn't always happy with the quality/consistency at this location. There's nothing worse than ordering something I know isn't very good for me as a treat and then it being subpar. I would give it 0 stars . This McDonalds has a serious issue . Last month we stopped to get the Big breakfast with hotcakes and more . The breakfast had no hotcakes or potatoes . They also forgot the Apple juice . So decided no more . Then we took a chance today for a cheeseburger , fish sandwich , fries and shakes . After placing order I side the employee just walked away without placing it . Then had to wait 25 min. for it ! My husband brought order out and it was appalling . No onions or pickles on the burger ? Fish sandwiches sparse and fries were almost cold and small . I'm 70 and remember the Mac meals of many yrs. and this sealed the deal with both of us . The service here is absolutely TERRIBLE. I can see why an unmanned kiosk is better than hiring a live-person...especially of the caliber that's employed here. It's truly amazing how worthless the employees are here. We ordered from the kiosk. Filled out every obnoxious entity including "coffee stirrer" and "cutlery" for each order. We get our food and we are missing 1/2 our cutlery for the kids to eat with. I get up and get the cutlery. Next, I realize they never gave me my iced coffee I had ordered. I get up again to get my coffee. When I return to the table, my child doesn't have a straw for his apple juice. Unbelievable. For the third time now, I get up to get a new boxed juice. The gentleman working had so much attitude he acted as if I was inconveniencing HIM when I went to the front each time to fix their errors. Worst McDonald's experience to date. Usually my husband and I dread going to our local McDonald's. We are local and have lived in Scotts Valley for 15 years. We use the mobile app so we have as little interaction as possible with staff. We were greeted immediately by Liz and she constantly kept tabs on our order. While we were waiting we watched Liz work the line all by herself. She was efficient, professional and went above and beyond with every customer. She noticed our order was crammed in the bag so tightly that she rebagged our food in two bags. What an incredible surprise to receive such exemplary service. I asked Liz her name because my husband and I were so shocked with the level of service we received. Liz is management material and sets a completely different standard than what we are used to at that location. Five stars for Liz!!! read more

I've been sitting in line now for a 1/2 an hour 2: 40 on a Sunday not even lunch or dinner time. This is the most successful fast food chain lane on the entire planet why aren't they hiring more people. I opened the app and saw 1-1/2 stars. I think this is too gracious. 2 out of the last 3 visits were WRONG ORDERS. The first time, grandkids were staying with us go gramps went and got McMuffins. Got home and not even one had cheese. I ordered all of them with cheese. I drove back and exchanged the them. Guess what the kid behind the counter said? "Here you go." That's it! No "sorry about that", or "we apologize". HERE YOU GO Last night, we got home with our orders and my Double Quarter Pounder with cheese turned out to be a single quarter pounder and my 2 strawberry and cream pies turned out to be apple pies. I wasn't going to go back and this morning I got in my car and saw my receipt. Double quarter pounder with cheese and 2 strawberry/cream pies. OK, I called the number on the receipt and was put on hold for at least 5 minutes while I heard them taking drive up orders and then disconnecting me. Received totally burnt sausage Mcmuffin 5/5/16 9:30 am. See picture as well. Crispy is one thing but huge chunks of burnt is way obvious. No way this should be served no question no doubt not even 1%. Employees here clearly are confused between food service and brick laying. Have also had wrong orders in the past but this is beyond just seeing if you got everything this means opening it all up now. The food and service has always been great during the day but wish they would be open until at least 1:00am. In Scotts Valley, Taco Bell is open until 2:00am during the week & 3:00am Friday and Saturday's. Jack in the Box has recently started being open 24 hours. McDonalds has great specials which are a great value for your money. Wish I could add McDonalds to my choice of late night options. After midnight I have seen cars drive away when they realize it is closed. Five stars would be worth a 1:00am closing time. read more
