Obviously you're going to make your own decision, as to whether or not you want to patronize this establishment. I just want to relate my own experience that occurred to me recently. I have had the occasion to purchase food here on a number of times, usually breakfast at the drive-thru. On this particular occasion I ordered a large coffee, and fortunately, I did not drink directly from the plastic cup, except for a few sips. I traveled to a friend's house to watch some football on Sunday. My friend gave me a ceramic cup to drink out of, rather than the plastic one. It wasn't until I got down to the bottom of the plastic cup, that I discovered a 2 inch chard of glass! Can you imagine if I had drank directly from the plastic cup! Of course I reported this incident to the manager on duty at the time, and he informed me that he wasn't working, but did apologize to me. I left him my business card which had my contact information, and told him that I was going to consult with an attorney. The following day, I received a phone call from another manager, who may have been the manager on duty at the time when I received my coffee, She did call to see if I was okay, apologized and acknowledged the fact that a coffee pot had broken, accidents happen, and apparently a 2 inch chard of glass from that coffee pot ended up in my coffee cup! As far as I'm concerned, a simple apology is unacceptable! I realize that accidents happen, but not accounting for every piece of broken glass, when there's food and drink involved, is not acceptable! The GM and the owner should be aware of this incident, train the employees adequately, and make sure that this type of incident doesn't happen again, or the next time, there could be more serious consequences. read more

What has happened to McDonald's restaurants? My order wrong, poor tasting fries and what's up with their milkshakes? Sad really

I went to the Sonoma McDonald's today, and usually it's the same lady taking orders. This lady is the most rude person I've ever met. She interrupted my boyfriend mid order and told us our price and said, "okay you're order is this much, you can pay at the window." We we're baffled and when we got to the window my boyfriend explained, "you didn't let me finish my order??" We eventually got to finish the order but when we got home to eat, they completely messed up our order, and our food tasted disgusting. Also this isn't the first time this lady has acted completely inappropriate. I drove up, ordered my food and gave her my card. No joke, she took my card then took 5 min to put it into the card reader cause she was drinking her soda. If you want to go to McDonald's for horrible customer service, and complete bullshit. Sonoma McDonald's is the place to get it. read more

This McDonnalds now carries Honey again. They do respond to the e-mail on the drive through widow... apparently. Not so nice inside. Lots of people from the developmental center come here during the day. read more

TWo stars? There's a shocker! This place is awful. I always try and avoid the place, but I went through the drive through and ordered something I thought, was fairly simple. Turns out when we were miles away, we checked the bags since we were eating in the car and the order was all messed up. MAde me angry enough to go out of my way to post a review here. If I could leave a zero I would. I do like McDonald's food. I know it's not the healthiest but you get what you pay for and I'm okay with that. What I'm not ok with are rude people who get your order completely wrong after making you wait up at the front for 10 min for cold garlic fries and a cheeseburger and then forget your food. Horrible service in restaurant. Waited in a long line where some guy's complicated order caused a huge back up. It was easier to get back in my car and go through drive-thru. The shake machine was broke and they ended up getting my order wrong. Next time it's Taco Bell across the street. read more

I went though the drive thru and placed my very simple order, and they still got it wrong, I called and asked to speak to the manager David and he didn't listen to what I was saying. If you are thinking a Mc Donald's ice cream cone is a good idea...think back-up plan. This is the third time i went to get a cone on a hot day and they had not cleaned the machine and therefore...no ice cream. But really this was for the good i went home yet again with out a cone, and that was a good thing. Probably won't try again, oh ya good again for me! read more

I come here ALL the time with my kids. We love the McFlurry's and Happy Meals. ALWAYS check your order before you leave. There are "kids" that work the drive thru and mess up ... most of the time. There are a few employees that are really nice and will carry a short, sweet conversation. I've only had to talk to a manager twice... and like I said I'm a regular. And the managers are always nice and try to help in any way they can. So they have my business. read more

Asked the drive through attendant if they still had Szechuan sauce. She replies with "i don't think so" as I'm asking my passenger what other sauce he would like she says "I'll check I guess" immediately followed by "we do". Got home and realized they gave me hot mustard. She could've said no. Or even checked!! She was very rude. If I could give less than 1 Star I would. read more

I used to come here a lot, maybe this experience will make for a good excuse to go back to Happy Dog down the block. (Haven't been there in a long time, just don't think about it for some reason.) Anyway, back to McD's - the fries were way overcooked. Dark brown, too crunchy. Reading an earlier review, perhaps they are re-cooking them to try and save money. This is one of the worst McDonalds. The shake machine is usually broken, I have emailed the owner complaining of the service and continually getting the order wrong, but no response. I haven't been to Mcd's in a long time, but the new promotion for Gilroy Garlic Fries got me back. I assumed I would get something similar to the garlic fries I have had at other resturants. But NO! A SOGGY MESS!! 2 minute drive from house to McD's, and the regular fries were hot, but not the garlic, cold. I think this McD's is so used to the 2 star rating, they don't even care anymore. Also, 1 order taker at 11:30 on a Sunday, 8 people in line. Well. I'll be back, NEVER!! I've been to the Mc Donald's in Sonoma three times. Never again. The first time I ordered an ice cream cone. As the drive-through lady was handing it to me (after I had paid of course), it was so loose and mushy it fell onto the pavement. The drive-through gal didn't say a word ... she turned away from the window. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe she was getting another cone for me and just forgot to mention it. No, instead I heard her tell a co-worker she was going on her break, and never came back. I concluded it probably wasn't worth it to wait for another soupy cone and drove on. Several months later I went through the drive-through and ordered a drink... the worker handed me the drink with pop dripping down the sides of the drink cup and visibly dirty fingernails. The drink cup itself was very sticky. Not wanting to risk e. coli food poisoning, I tossed the drink, used my hand sanitizer, and drove on. I am ashamed to say I went through the drive-through a third (and final) time. I ordered a breakfast sandwich ... ate it ... and ended up on the toilet most of the evening and night. The only other things I ate that day were made by me, eaten by other people and no one else got sick. That one I called and reported to the health department. Just driving past that place gives me the heeby jeebies. I do feel sorry for the people who work there ... they seem frazzled, poorly trained in safe food handling and haven't been taught even minimal customer service skills. Also, the restaurant equipment, counters etc. are dirty and the way orders are processed seems disorganized ... well you get the idea. This restaurant is in a great location, and could be a decent place to eat, but is very poorly managed and seems to me lacks an owner who cares. Eat there at your own risk. read more
