I decided to take a break and go thru the drive-thru here. I was curious to see what they serve for a "Large Fries." So I ordered my favorite Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese and a Large Fries. Service in the drive-thru was okay and fairly speedy. The burger was cooked on-order, and was worth the wait. (Service=4/5) Oh well, they served me a large fries in what was a small fries bag, and marked it "large fries." Price $5.29. Well, that answered my question. Don't order fries anymore, not worth it. (Value= 0/5, Quality= 3/5) The Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese was good, I'll give it a (3/5). They cooked it fresh. But way too much seasoning made the burger salty. Okay, Hamburger 101: The McDs 1/4-Lb w/ Cheese- - Cheese slices were starred - meat patty hot and juicy - condiment distribution was fair - too much seasoning on meat, too salty! 10/10 for Marcos. His level of customer service is outstanding. Truly goes above and beyond. We stopped in for some dessert and he apologized for the McFlurry being a bit runny. This McDonald's doesn't seem to have an appreciation of customers. There are a couple of nice ones but it's very aloof, not engaging. They've lied to me several times about coffee being fresh when it's not. But the worst thing is they charge 45cents for a cup of water even with an order purchase. To me that is the height of greed.Basic human hospitality in countries all around the world is to give someone a little cup of water if they need it. This is just coveting greed I believe on their part. But they say it's the owners policy who's not really around much and there you have it- - get that 45 cents from every 6th customer that orders a couple water. It was a very hot day at noon on Saturday, Aug 3, 2024. Heading back to Santa Rosa from Vacaville, and hoping to cool off I went thru the drive thru of this McDonald's only ordering a vanilla cone. Remembering when this item was on their dollar menu I was excited to get a cone so cheap. So to my surprise I noticed the cost of this small cone was $3.49. I ended up complaining and NOT purchasing the cone. I will never go to this establishment again. read more

Worst french fries ever. Always limp and cold. Ugh! Ordered a Filet of Fish and fries. Picked up the bag and it felt like nothing was in it. The F of F was so small it was like eating fluff. The fries were a partially filled bag and bad as I stated above. If you want a good fast burger and fries go to Jack in the Box on w Napa St. instead. Never going back to McD again. read more

Drive thru was meh. On the way back to central coast we stopped here because the SO was hangry. They did not have apples pies at the time and we didn't want to wait ten minutes so we got refunded. Overall lukewarm fries and hamburger, but got the driver home. read more

This is a review of this McDonald's in particular, but also a review of all McDonald's generally. I am VERY disappointed in the quality and prices nowadays as a whole. McDonald's used to be our go to, especially with our little kids, as of course they love happy meals, and to this day, NO ONE makes French fries as good as McDonald's. They used to have a fantastic value or dollar menu, including McDoubles and mcchickens. NO MORE! This McDonald's in particular has had a messed up soda machine for literally 20 years, and all they dispense is flat soda. Doesn't matter the day or time, if you get a sOda of ANY SORT, it's flat. I've spoken with the manager, and they explained it was simply a bad carbonation element or whatever it's called, and that the owner refused to buy a new one, so enjoying a crisp soda is still impossible. Then there's the ice cream machine. That damn thing is broken more than it works. I cannot tell you the amount of times we went there for treats, and left disappointed because the ice cream machine was down. Very lame, especially on hot days! Also, on many occasions, the service has been bad! If you don't check your drive through food before you leave, when you get home you find there's something missing or incorrect in the order, and I've gotten attitude from the workers inside. Last time I went through the drive through and someone Haaretz an extra cheese burger and they gave it to me and it tasted bad. Their burgers used to be decent for the most part, but this one was SUPER THIN, and it just did not taste good. Not sure what was wrong with it but it was thin, dry, and relatively gross compared to the McDoubles I used to eat often. The worst part however in the sonoma McDonald's is the bathrooms! THEY STINK! And it's not just because someone used it. It's a deep intense drain/toilet/sewer smell that NEVER goes away and only varies on intensity. It makes me want to barf in there! DISGUSTING! I highly recommend you avoid this and go to Jack in the Box instead, which is the only other fast food burger choice in sonoma. We have found jack in the box to have far superior burgers for slightly less money. McDonald's charges ALOT for their now subpar food. Happy meals are extremely expensive and you get so little! The ONLY thing McDonald's has now that is better than other places is the fries. There's no food on the dollar menu. The app, which used to have somewhat nice deals and discounts, never has ANY good discounts, and therefor is useless. If you want an app that has EXCELLENT deals all the time, it's Burger King you want, but there's none in Sonoma. McDonald's has changed its busIness model and have eliminated the cheap food, and what's left sucks and costs SO MUCH. Steer clear of this McDonald's and the chain in general. When my family of goes in, 2 adults and 3 kids, we spend around $35, without desert, and without much food, or any "value meals" for the adults. read more

Every time I go there we order the same thing for my Autistic son.... 20 piece McNugget , no sauce and a large fry.. OVER $9.00 now. Last week it was a totally different price. Tired of this s%^!. If I could I would leave a ZERO star review!!! I ordered through the mobile app so that my husband could pickup on his way home from work, the app didn't let me check in because apparently I had ordered it through my phone and wanted me to be the one to check in at McDonald's but I was at home getting ready for work so I told my husband to go inside and give them our confirmation number like the app has you do for whatever reason it doesn't let you check in on your mobile app and he told them the situation and they did not give my husband our food even though he had our order number and proof of everything!!! Today 1/26/2019 @ 1200 noon, Food Service was way below Standard. Not good, we we're not given our Fish Filet and had to go back and go inside to get it. French Fries were super over salted, my Cheeseburger was Super Saturated with Mustard. I repeat not good. We used the Drive Through Window for orders. On 11/8/2018, at 9:30 PM, I tried to order 2 bacon biscuits with cheese through the drive through at this McDonalds location. I was told that McDonalds didn't sell that even though I buy them all the time at my home location. To get what I wanted I had to buy 2 bacon, egg and cheese biscuits with no egg ( i'm allergic to eggs) which are significantly higher priced. I think McDonalds owes my money because this employee was to lazy to ring my order up correctly. I moved here in to Sonoma in November. I've had pretty good service so far. However this past Sun eve my son and I went there. My order was very small and included 2 apple pies. No one said they had to be cooked and it would be a longer wait than normal they just said park in front. I sat there and waited as 3 cars behind us drove off. I assumed I was forgotten. I was irritated. I walked in and asked where my order was. They said they were waiting on apple pie. That made sense, now irritated more cuz I felt stupid. I suggested they tell the customer that. So I walked away and as I walked out the door I thought I'll save them the trip and just wait. As I walked back in they were talking and the boy that obviously works there but not working stops dead sentence when he sees me. I worked in fast food when I was a teenager I get how bitchy I was. I wasn't that way until I got BAD SERVICE. I would have never written this review had I not seen all the horrible reviews. This is the only McDonald's in Sonoma. It starts at the top. I recently decided to go to the McDonalds drive through and ordered a cookie and fries. The fries were fine... I think, yet when I bit into the cookie, I found a dead bug in one of the bites. I was automatically disgusted and very disappointed. I would like to be refunded for this in some way. When I called McDonalds to talk to the manager, the woman on the phone told me that she was the manager, and to bring the cookie back to her to prove that there was a bug. What can I say.. it's McDonald's. In Sonoma. The place was clean, and our meal was quick. Nothing to complain about. I've been to much worse McDonald's. Gilroy garlic fries are great (although so far, I have 2 friends who have said they didn't like them). I still enjoyed them - however, I felt that the garlic-flavor was a bit too light. This is coming from somebody who absolutely loves the garlicky garlic fries at baseball games. I hope the 20 nugget $5 deal lasts forever. I get it, it's Mc Donald's but if I could give a zero rating I surely would! If your looking for a shake after 5:00 pm....GOOD LUCK. Their standard response "no milkshakes, the machine is broken." If you want hot fries order them without salt and you will get a fresh batch. The food is consistently bad, when it should be consistently the same and uniform with every other Mc Donald's out there. I love this McDonald's so much because every morning I visit the drive through on my way to work and Annette serves my coffee with a cheerful, friendly demeanor. She is a bright spot in my two hour daily commute. I like McDonald's coffee and have purchased it from multiple locations but this is the only place with Annette. She is funny, quirky, efficient, and kind. We bonded when our county was in fire last year and while our conversations occur in 90 second increments due to the pace of the drive through, I just love her and I'm glad she works here. I've ordered food to go with my coffee a few times and it meets standards. read more

Obviously you're going to make your own decision, as to whether or not you want to patronize this establishment. I just want to relate my own experience that occurred to me recently. I have had the occasion to purchase food here on a number of times, usually breakfast at the drive-thru. On this particular occasion I ordered a large coffee, and fortunately, I did not drink directly from the plastic cup, except for a few sips. I traveled to a friend's house to watch some football on Sunday. My friend gave me a ceramic cup to drink out of, rather than the plastic one. It wasn't until I got down to the bottom of the plastic cup, that I discovered a 2 inch chard of glass! Can you imagine if I had drank directly from the plastic cup! Of course I reported this incident to the manager on duty at the time, and he informed me that he wasn't working, but did apologize to me. I left him my business card which had my contact information, and told him that I was going to consult with an attorney. The following day, I received a phone call from another manager, who may have been the manager on duty at the time when I received my coffee, She did call to see if I was okay, apologized and acknowledged the fact that a coffee pot had broken, accidents happen, and apparently a 2 inch chard of glass from that coffee pot ended up in my coffee cup! As far as I'm concerned, a simple apology is unacceptable! I realize that accidents happen, but not accounting for every piece of broken glass, when there's food and drink involved, is not acceptable! The GM and the owner should be aware of this incident, train the employees adequately, and make sure that this type of incident doesn't happen again, or the next time, there could be more serious consequences. read more

We came through for lunch and my wife ordered a double hamburger with no cheese. Open the box and it had cheese which she does not like the taste of McDonald's cheese. But we were on the road and it wasn't worth turning around. I drove back through 4 dinner on our way back home and she ordered a deluxe crispy chicken sandwich, also through the drive-thru, and got the regular crispy sandwich. Fortunately, we were still in the parking lot when she checked and was charged for the regular chicken. So she went back in realizing she would have to pay the difference and the clerk behind the counter kept arguing with her is that she did not order the deluxe crispy. Over and over again kept insisting my wife was wrong. Fortunately, I was in the car when she placed the order and she did say Deluxe.
