This means the filters were never actually filtering water from the time the system was installed. Leaving the filters wrapped completely defeats the purpose of the RO system and potentially exposes to untreated water while giving a false sense of safety. This is a serious installation error. Most customers would never think to open the housings to check, so this could easily go unnoticed until time for replacement. I have photo documentation clearly showing the filters still wrapped in plastic inside the housings. And Awni, I know what I am talking about.

"I don't have a drain", "I don't have a soft water bypass", "Will soft water kill my plants?", "There is no electrical outlet nearby", "Will my water pressure drop?". If you are like me, you will be putting off installing a water softener because you are stressed over these things. My advice after this experience - DON'T. You don't realize how you have "tolerated" hard water until you finally experience soft water. The "feel" (for lack of a more scientific term) is just so different. And Trung will take care of EVERYTHING from start to end, in what is overall a very stress-free experience. He installed a sediment filter, a carbon filter tank, a 46 grain water softener, created soft water bypasses for all of my outdoor irrigation, a bypass for the whole softener/filter system in case anything ever goes wrong with it, and a drain (with p trap and air gap). He had a buddy who helped with installing an electrical outlet (also licensed). I was specifically looking for a softener with a Clack WS2 control valve (reputed to be highly reliable) and Trung supplied that. In fact he supplied everything. He also tested my water hardness to ensure I was asking for the right things. Price, quality of work and timeliness was 11/10 (I will add that his price is substantially fairer than those general plumbers who will quote you 10k off the bat - the audacity!). But here is the differentiator - Trung's sense of accountability. Everytime I requested something, I would apologize... but his response? "No problem it is my job". Wow. The water softener itself seems to be working well and the technicians who handled the installation were professional, efficient and pleasant to work with. That initial phase of the service was excellent. Unfortunately, our experience with Eduardo, our main point of contact for ongoing support, was very disappointing. Later that night after the installation, we noticed a puddle of water coming from a leak on a washer line adjacent to where the garage sink was removed and the water softener was installed. We messaged Eduardo that evening and he arrived the following morning, which we appreciated. During the visit, he claimed the leak was unrelated to their work, but offered to send a technician to assist as a favor. Eduardo stated that because it was a minor leak, someone would come out the following week or whenever a technician was available. However, security footage later confirmed that the installer had shifted our washing machine while removing the sink to place the water softener and salt container, which likely caused the issue. As soon as I got home, I called to ask that a technician be sent out as soon as possible because no one wants a leak sitting in their garage even if it's not an "emergency". He agreed to have one of his technicians out the next day between 8-9am. The following day, no technician showed up and it was just Eduardo who arrived 10 minutes late. He looked at the leak and then proceeded to lecture me about "raising my voice" on our call the day before telling me I didn't need to escalate for a quick fix and that he'd have sent someone immediately if it were a "real emergency". I was honestly in shock. I was direct because I wanted the issue addressed sooner. I was in no way being disrespectful and I have the phone conversation as well as the in-person interaction the next day on record to back that up. Being reprimanded by a service provider for raising a legitimate concern about a leak coming from the installation is inappropriate, especially after paying a premium price for the service. I apologized in the moment because I was shocked and caught off guard, but afterwards I was upset enough that I had my wife finish the conversation. While I appreciate the quality work of the installation team, Eduardo's unprofessional handling of the situation makes me hesitate to recommend this business.

The installation includes a 1-year service warranty, which has proven very helpful. Side note, if you add a mineral cartridge to your RO system and that RO system supplies an existing copper water/ice line to a refrigerator, be sure to have the ice line replaced with polyethylene tubing. If not, the minerals will degrade the copper ice line, resulting in leaks. Many thanks to José for the super job he did capping our old copper ice line and replacing it with under cabinet-mounted polyethylene tubing--works great, can't see the tubing, no leaks! Many thanks to Niko for resolving a problem we had with melted potassium in the reservoir tank for our softening system. Niko was very patient as he explained the problem and showed me step-by-step how to fix the issue myself if it happens again. He also tested the water until the results confirmed that the problem was resolved. Many thanks to Angel for taking service calls cheerfully and with kindness and efficiency. He re-analyzed the situation and said he thinks it can be snaked, cautioning that using a hydrojet in this case may cause flooding. His crew came out the next day and cleared it in 40 minutes.
