I can't recommend Silk Water enough. Trung (the owner) is a licensed plumber who has the skils to probably take on any plumbing job but he decided to focus on wafer softener/filters only. "I don't have a drain", "I don't have a soft water bypass", "Will soft water kill my plants?", "There is no electrical outlet nearby", "Will my water pressure drop?". If you are like me, you will be putting off installing a water softener because you are stressed over these things. My advice after this experience - DON'T. You don't realize how you have "tolerated" hard water until you finally experience soft water. The "feel" (for lack of a more scientific term) is just so different. And Trung will take care of EVERYTHING from start to end, in what is overall a very stress-free experience. He installed a sediment filter, a carbon filter tank, a 46 grain water softener, created soft water bypasses for all of my outdoor irrigation, a bypass for the whole softener/filter system in case anything ever goes wrong with it, and a drain (with p trap and air gap). He had a buddy who helped with installing an electrical outlet (also licensed). I was specifically looking for a softener with a Clack WS2 control valve (reputed to be highly reliable) and Trung supplied that. In fact he supplied everything. He also tested my water hardness to ensure I was asking for the right things. Price, quality of work and timeliness was 11/10 (I will add that his price is substantially fairer than those general plumbers who will quote you 10k off the bat - the audacity!). But here is the differentiator - Trung's sense of accountability. Everytime I requested something, I would apologize... but his response? "No problem it is my job". Wow. Rating: 4/5 I hired this company to install a whole-home AFW Filters setup with a stainless-steel pre-filter, dual pressure gauges, a dedicated irrigation bypass, and a 2-inch P-trap with a standpipe tied directly into my crawlspace main drain. They charged me $2,750 for the complete rough-in and installation labor. It has now been a few months since the installation, and most importantly, everything is working exactly as it should. The system holds pressure perfectly, the filtration setup is fully functional, and I have not had any operational issues. My concerns are mainly around the aesthetics and overall finish of the installation, rather than its functionality. The installer originally used steel flex hoses that were not rated for outdoor use, even though my contract specifically called for rigid copper. I had to ask him to come back the following day and replace them. That change appears to have affected the final layout. The main upper copper line is noticeably not level, which also leaves the electronic valve head on top of the filtration tank sitting slightly tilted. Because the stainless-steel pre-filter had originally been positioned for the flexible hose configuration, the switch to rigid copper resulted in several street elbows being used to create an awkward offset rather than repositioning the equipment for a straighter, cleaner run. The soldering could also have been cleaner. There are visible hardened solder drips and excess residue on some of the copper connections. None of this has affected performance, but it does detract from the appearance of what otherwise feels like a premium system. My only remaining question is long-term ease of maintenance. Because of the tight pipe geometry and positioning around the pre-filter, I am not yet sure how convenient it will be to change the filter cartridge or service components when the time comes. I won't really know until I have to do the first cartridge replacement. Overall, though, after several months of use, I am much more comfortable giving the installation 4 out of 5 stars. The system works very well, the price was fair for the overall scope of the project, and I have had no reliability issues. I just wish a little more attention had been given to layout, alignment, solder cleanup, and future serviceability so that the workmanship visually matched the quality of the system itself. read more

Service Requested: New Water Softener purchase & installation, RO Water Purifier Installation. Its been over 3 years now, no issues with the water softener. Flawless installation and no concerns. Water Purifier on the other hand was not issue free. We had to call Trung back to fix the water return issue, he had to install a no-return valve. It still causes issues time to time but has been problem free for almost a year now. Trung did add other valves during installation (we paid for the valves) as the product didn't come with them. We booked an appointment with Trung for installing an Undersink RO. After we moved in we noticed that it was leaking at the drain saddle. I immediately texted him regarding the same. He called back and asked me to push the drain line inside and if it still leaks then it might be a faulty gasket. So he asked us to reach out to manufacturer. When i reached out to manufacturer, they said the drain saddle needs to be installed with a blue clip and that was missing in our installation (i had sent a pic to manufacturer). I reached out back to Trung and he said if it leaks, it will leak. He said those blue lock clips are not required. I just texted him back saying okay i will check. Point is why do i have to keep going back and forth. Do the installation as per the manufacturer ! I was expecting the installation to be done as per manufacturer's requirement. Now i am left with an RO with water dripping. I also see lot of blue clips that were never used in the installation and were left in the package box as is.
