We hang out here on the regular. So this review is about a year late. This place is awesome! Love the beer menu, my girlfriend is particularly fond of their Snakebite which is mixed to perfection every time. I find myself branching out onto exotic beers from all over the place from time to time so this is the perfect place. Also recommend just getting a Stella on tap. Staff: 5 stars. I have only ever had great experiences at this pub. The bartenders have always been courteous and fun-loving, the dining area is dark but charming, and the drinks are all reasonably priced. The staff is more than accommodating, and we have always been able to get the games we want to watch on at least one of the TVs. Yay for Boston Sports fans in Dallas! Went here to watch the Patriots game with the family - enjoyed the other fans and the general sense of community that was showed. Im on a very limited diet with a lot of food allergies, so I couldn't really dig into the food a lot here, but my folks (who are Scottish) and my hubby (Irish) said it was great. Potato skins are good, as are the fries. The waitress was wearing a Patriots shirt, and they had the game on all the TV's in the place. Great service, nice folks... good times. read more

Awesome bar with an awesome bartender. My nephew turned 21 and my over 21 cousins and I were on the prowl to get him drunk. We came to McSwiggan's and it's literally in the EXACT location as my family's old coffee shop. It was kinda cool to see how they turned the daily grind into an Irish Pub. It was pretty low key for a Wednesday night but the atmosphere is really cool. There's darts and even shuffleboard plus a really awesome bartender. I wish I could remember his name but the drinks were delicious and strong. We didn't taste all the food, but the fried okra was delish. Check this place out! read more

This is a super neat little pub in Austin Ranch. It's mostly filled with locals. We enjoyed the snap back shuffleboard! Lots of TVs to follow what's going on in the sports world. We tried the Guinness Beef Stew, Shepherd's Pie, Pretzel, and salad. Everything was delicious. I was really hungry, but the pretzel was the best pretzel I've had since I was in Bavaria, Germany. The cheese that came with it was delicious as well. A lot of the time you get with a pretzel some weird plasticy tasteless nacho cheese, that was not what I got with my pretzel. Once my beloved pretzel was gone, I continued to eat the rest of the cheese, it was that good. The ONLY negative part of our experience was the one guy in the corner who seemed like he was a regular there who was using a lot of foul language really loudly. I absolutely love the atmosphere. All the furniture is made of polished dark wood and has a classy look about it. The environment is rather quiet despite running sports channels on the TV, which I appreciate. As a former New Englander, I really enjoy the lobster rolls, which are wicked awesome. I haven't had one that tasty since I left New Hampshire. They also have a decent selection of dark beers. The only downside is that the meals can be a bit pricey, but are definitely worth the cost. read more

For an Irish Pub, this is a great neighborhood joint. It feels very NYC or Chicago, but small and intimate. The bartender was very sweet and helpful. We had a couple of drafts at her suggestion and chicken wings (extra crispy) which were great and the Sheppard's Pie. I loved it, however I will point out that real Sheppard's pie also has ground lamb and no corn. Also the mashed potatoes on top were a little dry and not "fluffy." With that said, I'd order it again and we'll definitely be back. There's a very comfortable feel here. read more

Came here in high hopes, expecting it to be a bustling bar like The Saintsbury down the street but it was totally different. Much more "Irish pub" style with a smallish bar a few steps down, a few low tables and a couple of high top bars. The one thing that struck us that there was an odd odor in the air. McSiggan's seems to be one of those smaller, intimate places that local people go and everyone knows everyone. Being smaller, it was not as loud as other places so conversation was easy but there was just something that didn't click with me. Again, it may just have been a perception thing. I'll have to come back and try another night and see what it's like. Overall, decent enough beer menu, but the odd smell in the air made us want to be one and done. I am new to Austin Ranch, and this place is the bar for me. Laid back, Irish pub until the night crowd rolls in. This place attracts a crowd I would much rather hang around compared to the rest of AR. Nobody is Dub Stepping or dancing with glow sticks, so that's a change. Absolutely let down by the service. Me and my girlfriend were walking the strip trying to find a place still serving food because it had gotten late. We stumbled on McSwiggan's and decided to go inside for a bite to eat. After watching our server hang out and talk to what appeared to be his regulars for ten minutes he finally decided to come and hand us menus. After taking another 5 minutes to come back with 2 waters, I asked him which of two menu items I should try, to which he replied with "I don't know bro you'll have to try it out yourself." And made a comment about us needing more time before walking off for another ten minutes. Our server was dressed in old dirty clothes with his hat on backwards and acted like we were a huge inconvenience the entire time. We eventually just decided to leave and get whataburger over sitting down and having the date we were hoping for. As a young couple who are both in the service industry it feels like a small business like this would care more about its first time customers. read more

So this place as an "A" score from the local health department which is GREAT! I ordered the Fish and Chips. It was very good! I'll order it again that's for sure! This is a small place with great service and they have Harp on tap! My favorite beer! Lots of very local people, they walk here or live upstairs which I think is cool! That was some of the worst bar food I've ever had. I can't give stars just on beer if it's from the tap and no different but slightly warmer. Please don't call those cheese fries if the cheese can't melt. Potato skins were bad. And the pretzel was okay I guess, but the cheese it came with not only tasted like plastic, but my finger could not poke thought the top layer. McSwiggan's is a great Irish style pub. It's a small place so it can get packed fairly easily. The happy hour is decent and they pour good drinks. McSwiggan's is a great place to stop off and grab a few pints. The beer selection is pretty good and diverse, but no where near Saucer's selection. The food I hear is pretty decent, I've only been to drink. They have a bounce shuffleboard table, golden tee, and a dart board. Fair warning, the dart board is located right next to one of the doors (not exactly sure why), so be careful. read more

I love this pub. I live in Austin Ranch so I end up there every now and then, the last time being the night the Bruins won Lord Stanley's cup. I'm not a huge hockey fan so I didn't even realize that a) there was a game on, b) it was the final game of the Stanley Cup, and c) Boston was in it. I was there early and the place got packed as the night/game went on - what a night! The bartenders are fantastic, the food is delicious and the Guinness is poured expertly. The atmosphere at the bar was electric, I hadn't enjoyed going to a bar to watch a game in a long time, I will definitely be back for many more! There are plenty of options besides my favorite, Guinness, and they have a nice assortment on their menu. read more
