My 10-year old PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) unit in my sunroom was displaying an error code and was not producing cool air. The technician evaluated the problem and concluded the compressor was not working and provided a couple of options. We proceeded to replace the existing unit because it was near its end of life and replacing the compressor would not be cost effective in the long term. Air Treatment Heating & Cooling was able to replace the entire unit during the peak summer season within a couple of days. From start to finish, personnel was friendly, professional, and installed the new unit with no problems. Been using ATC for well over 10 years. They've replaced the furnace, A/C, and water heater. All great jobs. But yesterday they did even better. Last week I had my spring A/C check. Everything looked fine. Then a few days later my house temperature went up to 80° and I found my A/C wasn't running on the hottest day of the year so far. Did some checks and found a tripped circuit breaker, which I reset and then 10 minutes later it tripped again. My breaker panel had been completely replaced last year so I thought that something in the A/C was causing it. I called ATC about noon and...WOW!...a tech showed up about 4:30! Steve did a complete check of the unit and couldn't find anything, but he took the time for me to reset the breaker and he waited with his meters attached to the unit. Finally the A/C shut off, and the meter showed no spikes or abnormal activity. Steve said he thought it might be the circuit breaker, but they don't work on them. Anyway, next morning replaced the breaker and all is fine. AND, no charge for Steve's service call. read more

We have been using Air Treatment since 2019 when we moved to Vienna for both fall and spring check ups. Every technician who has come to the house has been friendly, professional and knowledgeable when assessing our central air unit and gas furnace. A special shout out to Chris, Lillian and Kyle especially. In our most recent inspection, Kyle determined that there was low Freon and probably a leak in the system. He explained all of our options and we decided to replace the existing 5 ton (which was 13 years old) with a new more efficient Carrier 4 ton. One of the owners, Philip, came to the house the next day and explained our options and we decided to go with his and Kyle's recommendations. Yesterday, Van and his partner came to the house to install the new Carrier unit and coil. They were both very efficient and professional when installing the new system. They cleaned up both the basement and outside area and left nothing behind. I recently used this company to replace my heating and cooling units by Air Treatment. They came highly recommend by my son's father in-law. Both of them were very pleased with the service they provided and the quality of the workmanship. I knew if they both recommended them, then this company must be good. We were extremely impressed by the efficiency of the service. The quality of the care these men took to do an excellent job. very friendly and knowledgeable. We discovered that the unit we had was put in very shabbily and not done very professionally. The technicians fixed all the things that were done wrong and replaced bad parts and added extra safety features. We had two different inspections done as advised by Air Treatment. The inspections were done by Loundoun county inspectors. Both inspectors said that they rarely see work this good done. They were highly impressed by the quality of the workmanship and the added safety measures and replacement materials. Were are very happy with the work done. We believe they went over and above what is usually expected. We had no trouble getting appointments and an amazing price as well. As I am writing this my neighbor is having them replace his AVAC after we told them of our experience and what the inspectors said. read more

A mixed bag for Air Treatment company, in my book. I've interacted with them twice: once was five star service and once was more like two. So three stars overall. Last May, Air Treatment provided clutch service for me when my A/C stopped working. My normal HVAC company was baked up and couldn't send anyone out for several days, while the heat was oppressive. But Air Maintenance came out right away, diagnosed the problem, and got me up and running. The technician was friendly and honest, explained all of the issues, and was open and transparent about the repairs. This was five star service. Based on that experience, this fall I decided to switch the Air Treatment for my maintenance needs. After walking me through the services that they offered (which sounded great), the phone operator told me that their next available appointment was two months out(!) I found that hard to believe, but she assured me that was all that she could offer. It's too bad, because I really did like the repair service that they offered. But a two-month lead time (and not servicing a furnace until mid-December) just won't work for me. They may as well have started the conversation by saying that they just don't want customers right now. It's a shame, but I'm not going to wait two months for somebody to come out and inspect my furnace. So, if you can get them to service your home, this company is great. But it seems like sometimes they might just be too busy to give some customers the time of day. read more

Air Treatment Company were excellent at explaining and diagnosing the issue. Multiple visits were required to resolve the problem. First to diagnose, then replace, then test. They always arrived on time and followed all pandemic precautions. They took the time to explain what would be done and how long it would take. I gave them a rating four years ago but I wanted to give a special shout out to Cameron Young for an "above and beyond" effort today. About midday (the day before Thanksgiving), I noticed the house was a little cool. When I checked the thermostat, it was showing a lower temperature and the furnace should have been operating. Instead, the furnace was off and the thermostat display was just flashing (an abnormal condition). This was looking bad -- Thanksgiving was tomorrow and I was expecting a cold night and not much heat until Friday. I contacted Air Treatment and Cameron diagnosed the problem as a bad thermostat. He was working at the shop but volunteered to come to my house and replace the thermostat. He arrived and I was fully back in service in less than an hour from the time I contacted him. He could have said he didn't have any techs available but he knew it would be bad for our family as the temps are dropping to the 20s tonight and good luck with getting anyone out on Thanksgiving. We had 2 systems placed in our home in 2020, downstairs in June 2020 and after a long delay the upstairs Oct. 26, 2020. As it was fall at that point we were unable to fully test the unit on the AC side at that time. In the last 6 days it has frozen up 3 times. After a call to the business, 3 days later they sent a young man to check it. He was very polite and said low refrigerant was the issue. He filled to the needed level he stated and left. 2 days later after the cool spell ended the unit, once again, has frozen up. This unit had a retail value of $10,418 and now the weekend technician states she will be unable to evaluate until Monday. Very poor customer service after a large expenditure less than 9 months ago! They installed 2 ac units and a water heater on our house. Plus additional vents. Four installers worked all day to install the units. Throughout the day they were all very professional had tarps inside to minimize and debris from climbing into our attic. Once everything was installed they tested all the units and then explained how they all worked. The install took just over 8 hours then about a half hour to explain everything that was done. I would highly recommend them. Great company and they always put the customer first from the person who reviewed our house and gave us the estimate, to the person we talked to, to schedule the install to the installers. The did a great job with the installation and even accommodated some of the additional requests we had. The installation was done with clean lines and great attention to detail, above and beyond in the attention to the little things that will make a big difference over the life of the unit. This was an unusual situation. Air Treatment Company installed a new HVAC unit in my home last year. The house is up for sale and the inspector said the furnace was wired incorrectly in "emergency" mode. I immediately called Air Treatment Company. I explained the situation and they were very helpful. Immediately scheduled a technician to come to the house that same day! Appointment was scheduled from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, with a call 30 min prior to technician arriving. By 11:00 am the technician was in the house. Turns out the unit was wired correctly. The home inspector thought the unit was a heat pump, but it isn't, it's an electric furnace. Justin took the time to explain the situation to me (more than once) and documented everything clearly on the work order so that I could resolve the supposed issue raised by he home inspector. My 3 bedroom with a den condo's A/C broke down by making a horrible squealing noise. At 4AM Friday. This noise,was heard by everyone in my building and the one across the street, and the 3 angry neighbors pounding on my door. After dealing with another company that broke the water drain pipe system and asked me to "just super glue that together and you need an entirely new system". Qouted $6,500 and left. I did not sign his form and after calling my lawyer who called them, and had a repair crew there in an hour who professionally fixed the drain system. The owner did it himself; but failed to re-diagnose Ok, now the good review on Air Treatment Company out of Vienna. Mike called and arrived early. He opened up a door the other company did not and it just has an oiling system that ran out of oil on the blower fan. He oiled it, started it up, and charged $125. Money well spent. I had purchased a faulty unit a couple years back from Home Service Doctors. When my 10 year old and I came back from traveling all of December, my heater was having issues. So naturally, I called HSD....they no longer did HVAC. Come to find out the owners wanted to try out the HVAC realm attached to their normal plumbing. So they sent me to Air Treatment Company and it was a godsend!!! When it was 36° in my house, they came out first thing the next morning. (I called on a Sunday. Go figure.) and Kevin came out and told me what was going on. Educated me on the process and showed me where everything was that is faulty on the equipment. I'm 100% disabled combat veteran, single mother of an eleven year old boy and there was no way I could afford everything that needed to be replaced. Luckily, I came into some extra surprised finances just enough to cover the cost of the electric heat kit, which is something I should have had all along. So I called the next day and Peter came out within a couple ours, did the diagnostic, which I paid for in advance, and talked to me about what I need to be up and running. I was able to barely afford the kit and was about to say something when Peter got off the phone with the Boss and told me I wasn't to pay a thing!!! I cried and couldn't hold back the urge to give him a hug so I did. He's getting the parts now and will be back before my son comes back from school. I found this company through Yelp and they definitely lived up to the great reviews. My service tech was Dan who was patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. He did not pressure me to go with the latest SEER 21 system or anything. We had an honest conversation about what I wanted / expected, my current utility bills and the 2 year old system that had just died. Together we settled on a system and while replacing an HVAC system is not cheap, their prices were much better than the other 2 companies I had gotten estimates from and that's going with the top of the line Carrier Infinity line. The company itself gets a 6 star from me! Their customer service is what all companies should aspire to. The staff is annoyingly friendly and helpful. I loved the follow up calls to check and see how we were doing and to see if we needed any additional help or had any questions. They sent a tech out a few weeks later to look over the system and make sure everything was good to go and to answer any questions about the operation of my Infinity Controller. The installers were, like everyone else, super nice, friendly, and talkative if you engaged them in conversation. They actually asked me how I wanted the outdoor unit facing since the lines would be visible from one side and what my preference was. They even asked what side I wanted the Infinity tag installed on which I thought was great. It was a much bigger job than I expected installing the unit and it took two guys all day but they never stopped. They even made a custom return in order to fit the unit and included an air return big enough to fit a 5" filter! This is an A++ company all the way! read more

The customer service I have received from this company is appalling. In the last month, I have had them come out three separate times to service my air conditioning. The most recent time they did not record my appointment and did not show up during the allotted time. After I called the office, they said they did not have an appointment scheduled acting like this was somehow my fault. The technician finally came out a few hours later. He was unprofessional and rude storming out of the apartment when I asked why the issue could not have been handled during the two previous visits. I have never seen a profession act like a simple question was an absurd insult. This company is more concerned with getting every dollar out of each visit than any type of real service at all. I will never use them again and I ask you reader, to not make the same mistake I did! Avoid them at all costs! read more
