The seasoning for the kimchi was thick and flavorful. The white rice was good. It left a good burnt crust.

We shared everything and enjoyed our lunch. Was a tad rushed because we had to leave town but here's my take on this place ~ Pros~tasty! Everything was pretty tasty -always love kalbi. This was soft tender and so tasty -ample rice -always like the little side fish they give -panchans were good -place was hopping -nice waitstaff and server -gave us to go boxes without haste -refilled panchans we needed -liked the AC in here ! Con- price a bit steep but not that it's unexpected esp kalbi but wish they gave more for that price -lots of noodles in the squid dish masking the lack of squid -fish was good but lots of bones -panchans and kimchi was good but expected a bit more -rushed bc yes place was busy so can't help that Otherwise ~ tasty that's all I can say. Glad I tried it but there are other go to places in Carrollton that we usually hit. This was similar to Chodang across the street but they've gone downhill too. I have a love-hate relationship with anything AYCE, but especially sushi. Let's all be real. AYCE…read moreKorean BBQ, hot pot, sushi or anything meat heavy always has me wondering about the quality. You can't have wild caught seafood or regenerative beef wagyu A5 for everything on the menu at the price of $40 a person. You just can't, I don't care what people say. So I think if you go into the meal knowing that and not expecting your meat/fish to have been an MTI graduate and pampered since birth, you'll be okay, but I suspect most people just want something that doesn't taste spoiled and a lot of it. That was a long way of saying, I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this place because I am someone who is usually more quality over quantity, but I heard enough about this place to try it. First the cons: I noticed all of the things I generally don't care for at any AYCE sushi place. The ginger/wasabi was the low-quality kind you find everywhere, the cocktails I ordered were terrible (just stick with beer) and some of the pieces we ordered were not consistent. But I was expecting that going in and so was prepared. Pros: the food was all pretty decent. The only times I really eat sushi rolls is when I'm at a place like this, so we ordered one to get our mayo intake for the month and the rest were sashimi or nigiri pieces. Pepper in some hot appetizers and we left feeling extremely full and satisfied. One thing that I really did love was the presentation. It makes it feel a lot fancier when the food comes out on a wooden boat serving platter than on little plates so brownie points for that. I will say that we ordered pretty much the same thing from round one and two, but the first round was definitely had more of the higher quality pieces (fattier pieces, smoked this and that, etc.) but I get it. Can't serve all of the premo stuff each time. We will definitely be back. And also, a shout out to the amazing staff. I think we had no less than four people come by our table to check up on us or to serve us.
