Living on the Southside, I had never frequented their North Shore location until today. Much bigger storefront and while I like the "old" that comes with the Southside location, the North Shore site has a nicer atmosphere overall and with its expansive space, seems to be the preferred place for the students and others doing a bit of work. Friendly, helpful staff and for today, I again went with the Churro Latte, without adjusting the recipe. Tasty, not too sweet, but they need to increase that temperature, a common problem with many of the coffee houses. How about a real mug please?

I went in looking for something low caf / decaf (I love to go to local coffee shops for the vibe more than the caffeine!). I was happy to find golden milk on the menu! I didn't go for food, but it looked like the breakfast menu was extensive and yummy with some non-typical options (like a spinach-pesto quiche - I might need to go back for that!) The art on the walls was cool and unusual too.

came here with a group of friends and had semi high expectations for the food based off the reviews. They got a little busy, and we waited almost 20 minutes for our meals, in the meantime, I had a Matcha latte which was yummy and very authentic, perfectly frothy and not made with too much milk like other places. my friend and I shared the curry hash bowl and were a little disappointed that there was no sauce to tie in the kale to the dish a bit more, but the curry sweet potatoes were yummy and the chickpeas and sautéed peppers offset it well & it was a really good dish. I also had the salmon bagel which was great, just the right cream cheese ratio and the ingredients were fresh. Could have used a little more salmon but for $11 it's less than i often see it for so that's fair.

I'm new to town and starting to check out the coffee shop scene. Mean Mug isn't far from my place, so was excited to check out this conveniently located spot. The ambiance is super chill - charming coffee shop with old furniture. Seems like a good spot to meet up with friends or get some work done. I was just ordering to go this time around. I ordered the green latte (matcha) and a vegan banana blueberry muffin. The green latte is straight up matcha, no sweetener or flavor, which I enjoyed but heads up for anyone who is expecting sweetness. And the muffin was delicious! Excited to keep coming back here to try more of their coffee drinks + pastries.

Two and a half stars. I was visiting from out of town & I always want to try local, but unfortunately this place didn't make a great impression. The space is very cool & unique, but the employees were unfriendly and not very willing to help. It was Sunday morning so there was a steady stream of people but it wasn't packed by any means. I very rarely comment on service because I know working in a restaurant is juggling a lot of things, but almost every employee I interacted with had a bad attitude. I went to the counter to ask questions twice and was ignored twice. Really did not feel like they wanted us there. My husband said the coffee was good and I really liked the charcoal lemonade, but the food was below average. His sandwich was pitiful looking, and my biscuit was so dry it crumbled into a hundred pieces trying to eat it. I wish we had tried a different local spot, but maybe we caught them on an off day.

A very cute coffee shop that also serves all day breakfast. It's located in signal mill shopping mall. When you first go inside, you order at the counter to the right. They are taking covid precautions and using a glass shield where you order, menus posted so you don't need to touch them. There's a showcase showing all the pastries and there are vegan choices! The tofu scramble dish was very tasty and can be made vegan. Food was seasoned well and had great flavors!

I came to Mean Mug a couple of times in December, and overall, it was an okay coffee shop. I liked the ambience, which straddled the line between hipster and homespun, and it was a nice spot to sit and do work or meet a friend. Plus, the location on the North Shore (with a free parking lot) was super convenient. Even with the freeway construction, it's easily accessible from the Signal Mountain/Red Bank side or the Downtown Chattanooga side. My favorite thing that I had from Mean Mug was their buttermilk biscuit, which came with a choice of toppings. The biscuit was huge! It was also warm, buttery, and crusty in all the right ways. And at $2.50, it was a fantastic deal! I'd definitely come back just for the biscuit. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed by Mean Mug's coffee, which is why I can't rate them any higher than a 3/5. I tried their latte and their dirty chai, and neither of them blew me away. They were both really affordable for what they were, which was a definite plus, but I'd rather spend a little more for a more flavorful drink elsewhere.

Quick friendly service with good pricing. Dropped in for coffee and a small bite. We were pleased with all the food and drinks. Really nice atmosphere for working remotely or a group project.

I went here because it was close to my hotel. Too expensive. Way too expensive. Nice people and place but I won't be back.

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

We spent some time outside before being seated, but the food and service made it worth it. I stayed in my carrier throughout the meal and was able to join my humans indoors. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and never made us feel out of place. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Now for the most important part of this review. While enjoying brunch, I witnessed something I never expected to see: a baby goat riding around the restaurant in a pet stroller. At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. Dogba's verdict: Excellent brunch, friendly service, comfortable carrier dining, and unexpected goat encounters. Five paws !

It was really smooth and a very nice quality. The second drink was an iced latte from their specialty menu that had been renamed for a special event I was attending. I loved the flavor of the coffee, so much so that I grabbed some of their beans to take home as well. Merch - There was a great selection of merch from the company and local artisans as well.
