    Seafood paella

Wow, what a find! In Austin for work and took my boss to Austhentico for dinner. Shared a fantastic seafood paella, salad and beet from the host bar. Food was delicious and served by the friendly chef. I'll bring back, this was great!

    Seafood Paella

Excellent authentic Spanish food and lovely collaboration for indoor seating and drinks! Had the seafood paella, patatas bravas and green salad. ¡Sobresaliente!

Tortilla española, pan con tomate, and jamón croquetas. Glass of sherry and some white wine to boot.

10/10 for food, service and ambience. Outstanding beer selection at the bar with plenty of other options if that's not your thing. The bartender was attentive and at my request gladly offered some recommendations for live music in the area. I came in for the tapas from Austhentico and they were perfect: Jamón croquetas and tortilla española like they're made in Spain. I'm here 4 nights and I'll be back to try more because I can never find the real deal. And this is it. Muchisimas gracias!!

If you enjoy tapas, run..don't walk to this food truck. The food here is incredible. The truck is located behind Mort Subite (A Belgian Bar) off of Congress & 4th Street. You can walk through the bar or also park in the back alley if you'd like to get take out without having to park on the busy main street. You're able to order your food at eat it on the patio or inside the bar, which is nice on a hot day. Back to the aforementioned food, the aioli for the patatas bravas is delicious. The potatoes themselves were cut to the perfect portion and fried to the perfect level of crispiness. The jamon croquettes were creamy and exquisite. The taste of the bocadillo de jamon was delectable and the bombas were great with the sauce. I want to return and try the paella. For some reason, Spanish restaurants don't tend to stick around too long in Austin which is a shame because it's one of my favorite cuisines. So please go see for yourself how amazing the food is here!

I'm a big fan of Tortilla Española, and the one here is just as good as I remember from when I was in Spain! I HIGHLY recommend the Mussels and Fries. Whatever oil they used to fry them in was so tasty. Super oily but with amazing flavor. Although the place is a food truck, it's located right next to a pub where you can take your food in and eat with air conditioning. The service is super quick and friendly too. Will be back!

Austhentico needs more hype! My best friend studied abroad in Europe and said she was really craving patatas bravas, which is a really popular breakfast item in Spain. This food truck is pretty hidden, and it's also connected to a bar but you'd have no idea there was this delicious food truck right behind the bar. I've passed by this area hundreds of times and had no idea Austhentico was here. The patatas bravas were SO good. It was my first time trying it, but my friend said it was really authentic and brought back a lot of nostalgia. I love how it looks dense but it's actually quite light, and the sauce it comes with is delicious. We also ordered mussels and frites because the chef recommended it, and it was so good! I thought the pricing was really fair for how many mussels you get. I'm not even normally a mussel fan, but they cooked it really well and it's seasoned lightly as well. The fries were the star of the show. I have no idea what oil they use to fry the fries, but my friend and I couldn't stop raving about them. They're so nice and deserve all the business. Please come give them a visit!

A solid 5/5. I cannot rave about this place enough. It was quite the drive for us to eat here but it was well worth it. I did place an order in advance as I've never been here before and wasn't sure if there was a wait. The food was ready upon our arrival. We definitely over ordered because everything on their menu looked so delicious and we wanted to try it all. No regrets. Just from eating the food, you can pretty much taste the passion that had went into preparing the meal. - Bombas - 5/5 - Flamenquin - 5/5 - Chicken Paella - 5/5 - Patatas Bravas - 4/5 - Tortilla Española - 5/5 Other bonus points for me: - I love their homemade aioli and salsa that came with the tapas - Amazing service! We decided to eat there as we didn't want the food to get cold on our drive home. They have a tented area with mist fans to keep diners cool in the heat. Chef Luis himself checked up on us a few times to make sure we had enough plates/utensils and to see how everything is tasting - They put a little flag of Spain in every dish. Super cute! - They are an eco-friendly business I can't wait to come back and try out the rest of their menu. Definitely going to be getting the bombas and flamenquin again though!

After reading previous reviews about Austhentico I really wanted to love it, but my group left disappointed. We ordered to-go food from this food truck on a late Thursday night and were met with spectacular service. The man in the truck was very kind and seemed excited to serve us, but unfortunately the food was just fine. We ordered the bombas, flamenquin, patatas bravas, chicken fideua, bocadillo de Spanish chorizo, and bocadillo de Pepito de Ternera. My main dish, the chicken fideua, had flavor but was extremely dry. I left wondering if it had been left to cook for too long. The flamenquin also had good flavor but was dry on the inside. The mashed potato and ground beef bombas were tasty and were complimented nicely by the homemade garlic aioli and salsa. The patatas bravas were my favorite dish by far -- they were perfectly crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. My friends that ordered the sandwiches said they also both had good flavor. The dishes are pretty fairly priced, with a meal for one person costing approximately $14. I do not recommend visiting this truck late at night, because the road to and from can be very dark and difficult to see. Overall, we found the food good but not great. Several dishes stood out, like the patatas bravas and bombas, but were not enough to keep me running back.

If you want authentic Spanish tapas then come here. I've been here several times and it always so delicious and consistent! My favorites are the croquettes, Spanish tortilla and the beef bombas. Chef Luis is amazing and so nice! I would give more stars if I could. 100/10!!

A little bit of Spain right here in South Austin! Chef is from Spain (Barcelona) and cooking up nothing but authentic tapas! We tried the flamenquin, bombas, tortilla española and flamenquin . It was all delicious!!! So fresh and filling. In true tapa fashion, we ordered 4 dishes for two people to share so we could get a sampling of different dishes. As I mentioned, we had the fried potato balls filled with ground beef "bombas", deep fried rolls with pork loin, ham and cheese "flamenquin", a Spanish style omelette served with sourdough rye with tomato spread "tortilla espanola & pa amb tomaquet", little potatoes "patatas bravas", and the BEST steak, caramelized onions and cheese sandwich ever!!! It's called the Pepito de Ternera!!! Highly recommend!! There are also plenty of noodle dishes, salads and grilled sandwiches for kids! Located next to the hive in the parking lot area of gas station (the zone). The chef also offers specialized catering for private events. Check out his Instagram and Facebook for more info about his journey. This is a great way to sample many traditional dishes! We will definitely be back for more!

Friendly and accommodating from the time we checked in for our reservation. Our server was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with my gluten sensitivity! The food was delicious too. Shout out to the chefs! The village salad (also reminded me of a traditional Greek village salad) was refreshing, the hot honey halloumi was like nothing I have ever tasted before, I regret not ordering extra to-go!, the Lamb chops made me feel like we were celebrating Easter - the seasoning was spot on and cooked to perfection, the Lamb and beef kefta with rice was also tasty, but the lamb chops are the clear winner. Don't forget to get dessert! If you have a gluten sensitivity like me, you are safe with the Pistachio Panna Cotta. It was a flavor high I didn't want to end! Lol. We ordered the whipped feta spread (excellent with the pistachios and oil; the house bread was a bit salty), Brussels sprouts (cooked perfectly), grilled chicken kebabs, the shawarma-spiced steak frites, and the grilled Branzino. The Branzino was the clear star of the show--flavorful and well-executed. The chicken and steak were mediocre at best. For dessert we shared the sticky date cake, which had a nice crunch outside and was warm and moist inside. It's a bit pricey (we paid over $240 for the four of us), but the setting, strong service, and that excellent Branzino make it worthwhile. I'd definitely come back.

We were completely satisfied with the meal after getting these but still made room for the orange almond cake!! This was extraordinarily good!! Not too sweet and the cake has a nice moist texture-not dry. It took a while for food to arrive so service was a bit slow. You can also sit outside if you want but we sat indoors since it was chilly. It's a smaller restaurant so it's nice for an intimate meal or date. They have a bar. There's parking in the back, which is where the entrance is. Btw, this is also on inKind so I got to claim $25 off $50.

Overall: 4.4/5 [dine in]…read more We came in on a weekday night and were seated right away. The place is nice and quiet, the service was good, and the food was even better than our last visit. They change their menu often so there is always something new to look forward to. Charred Edamame With Pop Rocks ($9): So fun to eat and quite addictive. The chili oil was spicy to me but not my husband so just be aware of your heat tolerance. The salt pop rocks combo is genius and so good that we wanted to take it home to season our steak. The edamame were also perfectly charred. Highly recommend! Lamb Pops ($28): Came with 3 lamb pops that were perfectly cooked and so delicious. Even better with the yuzu yogurt. 44 Farms Tartare ($24) + Quail Egg ($6): This looked like a bird's nest and had so many textures going on. A great sensory experience and it tasted really good too. I would say a little less of the crispy bits would help since I felt they were close to overpowering the rest of the dish.

Swift's Attic changed its menu and plating style in 2025 to focus on small, shareable plates, but…read morethe dishes have been somewhat hit or miss. Before the change, I would have rated this spot closer to a 4.5/5, so the new format feels like a noticeable step down. It can still be a fun place to visit with a group so everyone can try a variety of items, although some of the portions are so small that they can feel awkward to share. Considering the price of each plate, I'd say it's mainly worth visiting if Swift's Attic has been on your list and you're curious to try it for yourself. Otherwise, Austin has plenty of other dinner spots that offer a more satisfying experience and better value.

Emmer & Rye was such a good dining experience. We met up with friends for their dinner event…read morefeaturing visiting chef Rockman, and I'm so glad we did because everything was delicious. A quick parking tip: street parking was hard to find. We ended up parking in a garage, and I was shocked when my husband told me it cost $28. In hindsight, we should have just used the valet for $20. We had reservations and were seated immediately, which was a great start to the evening. The restaurant was busy and lively. The noise level was definitely on the higher side, but we could still carry on a conversation without having to shout across the table. Service was attentive, and the drinks were excellent. We started with the bread, and I don't say this lightly, it was the best bread I've ever had. It was a beautiful brioche stuffed with whipped ricotta and topped with candied pecans. I actually had to force myself to quit eating it so I'd have room for the rest of the meal. We also tried the Johnny Cakes, which were good, but they didn't stand out compared to everything else we ate. For our shared entrees, the Cacio e Pepe was outstanding. I've had this dish at a lot of restaurants, and I honestly can't remember having a better version. The Texas Akaushi Wagyu was very good as well. The tortelloni was another great choice, and the pappardelle was equally delicious. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed and couldn't even consider dessert, which is probably the best compliment I can give. Between the food, drinks, service, and overall experience, this was a memorable meal and one I'd happily repeat.

Wow what a fantastic experience. We came here for a friends birthday dinner and loved it…read more It's a small but can't-go-wrong menu. Here's what we ordered: 1. Smoked gulf oysters - delicious! 2. Tomatoes & peach salad - refreshing and a delicious unique dressing 3. Sourdough bread - amazing freshly churned butter and cheese spread 4. Cacio e Pepe - perfectly made all around 5. Rigatoni - this was the only dish I didn't really care for 6. Gulf fish - light and perfectly cooked 7. Blue corn empanada - (complimentary for our birthday girl!). It was vegan and you'd never know! 8. PB blackberry dessert - literally the best dessert I think I've ever had. I would come back just to eat that over and over again. What an incredibly made dessert with so many different flavors and textures. Amazinggggg! Our server was amazing too so just all around a great experience!
