Austin Rotisserie is hands down one of my favorite places in the world. I've been eating their food since they were a tiny little pop-up behind the Infinite Monkey Theorem winery, when it was literally just the two of them, a couple of pop-up tables and the rotisserie. It's been amazing so see how far they have come! The owners, Sophie and Eric are genuinely the kindest and most hard working people I've met. The care and attention to detail they put in does not go unnoticed and is unmatched. The entire menu is incredible and every single dish is worth trying. The Kinda French quesadilla is probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in my entire life and the guacamousse sauce is You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches either (the Poulet Roti Baguette and the Parisian are my personal faves ) and of course the traditional Rotisserie chicken- don't skip on those potatoes either- they are SO good and really tie everything together. I unfortunately don't live in Austin anymore so I don't get to visit them nearly as often as I'd like to, but I always recommend them to locals and anyone visiting- seriously some of the best food you'll ever have, and always served with so much love and care read more

I think it's great that Fareground has a French fast-casual spot in Austin. I tried their chicken baguette sandwich and had mixed feelings. The bread had good flavor, but it was a bit hard to chew. The chicken itself was okay, though it leaned a little dry. I did see them add sauce to the sandwich, but I wish there had been two to three times more because the overall sandwich still felt pretty dry. Because of that, I wasn't too tempted to try their rotisserie chicken meal, but I do like the concept and think that with some changes it would be a solid spot. read more

Rotisserie chicken with potatoes and bread + butter, what's not to like? Well, if your menu is simple and some of the items aren't cooked/baked that well, then it's going to be a letdown. Normally, I wouldn't ever order from a restaurant like this since none of the menu items satisfy a craving of mine, but I had a friend in town who was craving just this. Rotisserie Chicken (3/5) - sure it comes with some pretty tasty sauces (chipotle and salsa verde), but the chicken itself was actually quite dry. I'm sure it's juicier on most days, but this time the chicken was quite dry, even the dark meat portions. Baby Potatoes (4.5/5) - These were pretty flavorful and the roti sauce was a nice addition. But this style of roasted potato is probably on the lower tier of potato forms. So even though these were well done, it's not my favorite form of potato. Baguette with Butter (3/5) - The baguette wasn't really baked well. I got two of them and the outside was a bit too tough (slightly crunchy,but mostly on the hard side). I expected something crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but the toughness of the crust made it difficult to enjoy the fluffier interior. Arugula salad (4/5) - Solid arugula salad. I'll occasionally order this for lunch and it's delicious and the sandwich is the perfect lunch side. The chicken is extremely moist and flavorful. They add goat cheese and arugula on the sandwich as well which adds extra flavor. There is also a dressing you can get, I like to ask for it on the side so I can dip it there. The potato's are excellent as well but would prefer to have them a little bit more crispy. It's fast service - not a sit down restaurant. "Fast French" seems almost oxymoronic, yet this eatery inside the Fareground food hall (there's another Austin Rotisserie location on Lamar) offers an approximation thereof. You can get varying quantities of rotisserie chicken, soups, salads, and baguette sandwiches. I opted for the latter. At $14 with no sides, my Norwegian baguette (smoked salmon, goat cheese, arugula, tomato, vinaigrette, and roti sauce) was no bargain though it managed to be reasonably filling. Have been wanting to check this spot out for a while. Today finally went for quick lunch. It's inside fairground which is a fun little lunch area with few food options. I ordered the French quesadilla and their famous potato. The size is decent not too big or too small, i felt like it was missing a little bit of sauce so maybe ask for extra sauce. The flavors were great. The potato is very buttery and flavorful and highly recommend it. Austin rotisseries is a great option if you want to go out, get something simple, and that's pretty healthy. There potatoes are amazing and always cooked well. Located in the Fairgrounds building, I was actually excited to try some baguettes when I noticed there was a French restaurant in Austin. I ordered The Parisian: a ham, Swiss, and butter baguettte sandwich which is called a Sandwich Mixte in Paris. It was simple, flavorful, but different. This spot toasts the bread and melts the butter whilst Paris provides you with a cold sandwich. It wasn't bad but I also did not care for melted Swiss cheese. I've been to Austin Rotisserie a bunch and not sure how I overlooked giving them a review. They used to be a food truck on the east side before moving down south and then ending up at Fareground. Their chicken isn't the cheapest, so if you want that go to HEB. But oh my good is their chicken the best. My ex and I used to split a whole chicken and still have leftovers. I would like to give feedback on the delivery services. I placed an order for delivery and tried to call the phone number several times shortly after. I called about 5x with no answer. I wanted to ensure that my order included everything I needed such as to-go silverware. Since no one answered, I thought the place may have been closed. There was no change in my order status so I didn't know if it had been received or not. About 30 minutes later after trying to call again, I was going to contact GrubHub to get a refund and then I see that the order status changed to delivered. There was no to-go silverware. Also, the food was kind of cold. Please improve customer service in this area of delivery, as people who order delivery would like and deserve as close to the in-person restaurant experience as possible. Fresh rotisserie chicken in a bougie food court below a big office building. Apparently it's French, which would explain the Dijon sauce and the baguettes. A very filling lunch with lots of leftovers if you get the whole bird. Whole Bird: This is why you come here, right? Definitely better than the grocery store rotisserie chicken. Bigger, fresh, more flavor. But the real unique thing here are the sauces. There's one which is like a Dijon aioli or something, that is so creamy and indulgent against the chicken. But what I loved was the creamy salsa verde, which had a brilliant herbal profile and a little kick. Not gonna get those artisanal sauces at a grocery store meat department! Potatoes: More flavorful than regular little baked potatoes, thanks to all the chicken drippings. Though when I've had similar drippings infused potatoes from other rotisserie chicken places, those potatoes had a few crispy almost-burnt areas, which were really nice, but I didn't see any on these potatoes. The Parisian Baguette: I guess this is what makes the place French? I normally don't think of eating a ham & cheese baguette alongside rotisserie chicken and potatoes, but why not? The baguette was very crusty, which is how I like it. The ham and cheese were lightly placed on it, so it's not a typical meaty sandwich but more of a way to experience the baguette with a little extra flavor. 10-24-21 I have to be honest (and everyone will probably hate me for saying this), but I rarely find rotisserie chicken better than Costco's fresh out of the oven rotisserie chicken. However, I admit even Costco chicken can seem dry the next day. This is a very cool place; we came here both Saturday and Sunday. Upscale food court with a bar!! Huge indoor and outdoor seating. Clean bathrooms, although one of the men's stall needed attention. Quality/Quantity - Poulet Roti Baguette was a great addition; I was craving a french or Vietnamese sandwich. Half Bird - Our bird was small. Good flavor, but drier than I preferred. The Salsa Verde sauce was my favorite and really made the entire meal. I put it on everything. Atmosphere - I really like the space of the Fareground Center. Austin Rotisserie is also a nice, small, and very clean space, but the Fareground Center really took this experience to the next level. Service - Owner was perfect. Perfect service. Very nice, professional, and helpful as this was our first time in the center. Price - $30+; the going rate for good food. Owner Suggestion - Your service is the best, keep up the good work. If more customers rave about your Salsa Verde Sauce, you should give extra! :) If we get addicted to it, we HAVE to keep coming back. The chicken baguette I shared was very good, but some bites had more arugula than anything else and I find that can be bitter. More chicken please. The portion of potatoes was massive and I ended up throwing half of them away even though they were delicious. Way too much fat/oil/butter for one person. I would've rather paid half the price and received half the portion. I liked the self-serve counter tablet set-up but there were some items for sale that weren't listed on the tablet (like the desserts) and I didn't see any staff members come to the front for the time I was in line or ordering, so no dessert this time. read more
