Our built in KitchenAid refrigerator stopped cooling. I called KitchenAid directly and they were less than helpful. Wasted hours of time on hold only to be told they couldn't recommend any repair people. Next, I called three places I found on Yelp, Med Appliance Repair was the most helpful, responsive and reasonably priced. Med came to the house later that evening, did some testing - we thought that it might be the motor giving out, or something worse. Med came back the next day, defrosted the freezer and determined that the thermostat was broke. It was replaced along with some burned out light bulbs. We couldn't be happier with the service! Had my LG refrigerator compressor replaced by Meder while still under warranty - everything worked great, but a couple months later, it wasn't cooling. I texted and called Meder directly but got blocked. Someone recommended I add refrigerant myself (I do my cars and it's the same R134a refrigerant). I did that and everything has been great since - it was most likely a loose shrader valve that slowly leaked. I left a negative review because my calls/texts weren't returned. Turns out Meder was out of the country caring for family. After returning, he actually came to make sure everything was OK and offered to give me a partial refund. While it's a shame his phone number wasn't working in his absence, I have to say I was blown away that he came back to apologize and make sure everything was OK. THAT is customer service! read more

My building is in Rogers Park. Tenant reported a strong sewer smell coming from washer/dryer machine. Hired Bek to take apart the washing machine and clean the inside. He also inspected underneath and behind the machine. Turns out that the washing machine was working fine. But the sewer gas smell was coming from the wall standpipe behind the machine. So I need to call a good plumber to put a good gasket to stop the smell. Bek was friendly. He lives in Naperville so it takes a while for him to drive to Chicago. Keep that in mind when scheduling. His service fee is very reasonable. read more

We had a very difficult job. We had purchased an after-market door boot for our twenty-year old washer. We called Med after a different appliance repair technician gave up in frustration and said it was impossible to install. Med managed to come out the same day. He took a lot of extra time and paid close attention to details in order to make sure the part was installed correctly. His rates were very reasonable, despite the challenges.
