Made fresh every day. Family recipes handed down are so tasty. Medina's is the longest standing Mexican Restaurant in Lampasas and for good reason. The cup of soup before your meal with chips and salsa is the best. It's so good and hard to stop eating till it's too late! The table was dirty, the service was slow, they got both our orders wrong, they didn't bring out the silverware with the food, and the food presentation was not very good. The Guacamole, Sour Cream, and Cheese for the fajitas were under the aluminum foil wrapped tortillas, and the fajita meat was on top of the enchiladas. We didn't even eat the food, so I can't tell you about the flavor, but the salsa was bland and the chips were cold. I won't go back. read more

The chips and salsa are excellent. Always a good first impression for Tex Mex. I usually get the Monterey, Taco and cheese enchilada with chile con carne sauce rice and beans. All good stuff. I get a mini guacamole to add the extra special touch. Reasonably priced. I've always had decent service. And bonus for a person who enjoys a cold beer with his mexican food you can bring your own in. A lot cheaper that way though I add some to the tip for that. I asked for 2 specials to go and they come back and tell me they can't do the special to go BUT some guy from lampasas orders it to go and they say nothing and give home their order. Off the beaten path, in old town. The salsa was fresh, the chips crispy. It was an adventure.The waitress asked if we wanted soup, she said tomato base, comes with your meal. We were the last customers of the day. They didn't hesitate to put the closed sign on as the door closed, too bad they didn't have it on and we would have gone somewhere else. The cheese enchiladas had a sauce I have never have tasted before, hopefully never again. The cheese tasted like fake cheese, not tasty. Howard's fajitas salad was good. He lived the taste of the onions. I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas. The beans were okay. The enchiladas, dry no sauce. I found it difficult to eat. The chicken was dry, no sauce, won't have that again. Maybe if they were not ready to close, it might have been better? read more

Medina's was a good place to stop on the way through Lampasas. Good food. Quick service.

This restaurant really occupies two spaces in an old downtown building. One is a bar area that allows smoking, and the other is a smoke-free dining room. Unfortunately, you need to enter, pay at the counter, and leave through the smoky side of the business. Even at noon on a weekend, this restaurant manages to feel dark and gloomy. The main dining room is very under-lit and cold. At least half of the diners I saw were wearing their jackets and coats to eat lunch in. The red salsa was very, very mild, and the tortilla chips were a bit dense. Service was just OK, but it took a very long time for our food to arrive. The chicken enchiladas were nothing special, and the beans and rice were pretty boring. The restrooms in the restaurant were pretty bad. The women's restroom is not wheelchair accessible, and the men's restroom was clearly not cleaned prior to lunch service. It seems likely that the restrooms do not receive daily attention. Lack of attention to restrooms is always a bad sign about a restaurant. Even the inexpensive prices do not really redeem the restaurant. read more

Food was good, service was not. It seems like a sweet staff, it was our waitress that did not seem to have any experience and she was not attentive. We ended up having to stop her or track her down to get service. Long wait for food, after waiting 45 mins we we're told they didn't have tortillas and would need to order something else. They ran out of sweet tea and brought unsweetened tea and asked that we sweeten it ourselves. After delivering our food she informed us that they ran out of chicken so the enchiladas were beef instead. read more

We have eaten Mexican food all over Texas. Medina's has the best enchiladas we have ever eaten. The chips are also awesome and the rice is very good. The salsa is so-so. Service can be slow sometimes, but it's worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable. We eat there a couple times a month. If decor and atmosphere are your thing you might be disappointed. Highly UNrecommended!! We went here after my daughter's dance class today. Starving and ready for dinner we picked here because, most hole in the wall place turn out amazing!! Well this one was not that at all.!!!! We ordered drinks 4 sweet teas, the waitress did not even give us straws!!! She instead went to the back to eat!! We had to ask another waitress for straws and more chips!! Our waitress finally returned after her dinner to bring our children's meals out. Two kids grilled cheese, then she brought my stake fajita taco salad. We waited and waited....After waiting what seamed like forever, 22 mins they finally brought my husbands food out. My food was cold by that time the kids had both finished eating, and we were just over it and ready to leave !! So I asked our waitress to just take my food back and keep my husband's and we will pay for the 4 teas we drank ! And the kids meals !! She left again, our daughter had to use the bathroom so I took her !! While I was taking my daughter to use the bathroom, some other girl whom was in the room next to where we sat , a chubby girl with brown hair and a flower shirt on !! Was throwing up her hands talking smack to my husband, I could hear her ! later having another employee return to speak with us. The refused to allow us to pay for what we had eaten and leave!
