A great brunch spot in the south hills! I had the cereal milk latte and the breakfast sandwich (phone did not eat first) and both were soooo good! The breakfast sandwich was huge and so filling. One of my favorite brunch places in Pittsburgh! I love this fast-casual-ish location right in the heart of the Beverly Road shopping district. The cafe has a beautiful interior as well as outdoor dining space available as well when the weather cooperates. The interior is both a restaurant and a small market, with items for sale like artisanal pasta and stuffed olives. The restaurant food is absolutely delicious! I was blown away by their savory breakfast sandwich and the perfect pumpkin cake. The breakfast sandwich had a DELICIOUS zhoug aioli and is especially tasty with a slice of bacon on top as well. The pumpkin cake is the perfect combination of dense and fluffy with a delicious frosting as well. The drinks are very tasty as well! If you like lattes or matcha drinks, this is the place for you. The restaurant is often quite crowded with exactly the crowd you may expect in the South Hills, but it's definitely worth the trip! read more

I saw this place all over social media so I had to go try it out! It was very cute and everything looked super tasty! My food and coffee were good and overall the experience was good. However, this place is way too crowded for my taste. I felt like everyone was rushing to tables and battling for the next seat. Only question I ever have for places like these are, does the tipping go to everyone or just the person taking your order? I ask because I don't see a reason to tip a person taking your order, but I do agree with tipping the people running around bussing tables and such. If they aren't doing their jobs efficiently, there won't be tables open for people to get once they order. Friendly staff and relatively quick service, or at least when I was there. Parking is trash, but what can you expect with a location like this. It is what it is! Plan ahead to find parking, or allow for a long visit just in case. I got a simple breakfast with a half avocado. Everything was cooked to my liking, so no complaints. My sister and her kids had good food, too, but nothing she went into detail about. The food was the food. She also got a deconstructed coffee, which I hadn't seen before, and thought it was neat. I personally don't understand the purpose, but to each their own. "Millennial" is the best word I can think of to describe this place. It's a hyper-hip lunch cafe in Lebo, with very cute indoor and outdoor seating. In addition to the breakfast, lunch, drink, and pastry type menu offerings they have a little store here you can get some pantry staples and other foods to go. I came here with my family near closing time, it was my dad's birthday and he was adamant that we come here for the sparseness so we could sit far from others. We offered to come back another time but the staff assured us we could eat in while they closed up, they were very friendly. We ordered several different sandwiches: the pastrami, the mushroom melt, the grilled Parma cotta, and the turkey. They were all good, with the toasted sandwiches really standing out. We also got little gingerbread cheesecake bites they had, these were unanimously delicious. It seems to me that you're really mostly paying for the atmosphere--it is a cool atmosphere! While the house-made breads are undeniable, the prices seem a little steep for what you get. We all left hungry, except my dad who's a pro and added a side of chips with his meal. They also have a bakery and you need to try their pastries. They do amazing cake. I had the best carrot cake of my life here. We had the Oat Waffle and specialty menu item which incorporated a poached egg with spicy oil on Greek yoghurt served with mint and sourdough toast. I finally made it to Mediterra and it did not disappoint. What a lovely place to meet a friend for lunch, as expected. First I browsed the market side full of beautiful charcuterie items, delicious cheeses and a great selection of olive oils & vinegars. I plan on stopping in sometime for a picnic spread to-go. I had the farm salad which was so vibrant and tasty, full of root vegetables and quinoa. I do slightly regret not getting any protein on top because it was a very large bowl of endless veggies. Could've used some contrast. My friend and I split the strawberry daquiri cruffin for dessert which was divine, and both our first cruffin experience. They have a fabulous looking case of other pastries to try as well as pizzas. Whether you come here for breakfast, lunch, coffee, or drinks, they have a little bit of everything and it's a wonderful spot to meet with friends or family. Again great tasting food but just a little too many combating flavors where things get a little lost. Just going to add this little tidbit here seeing that they sell pizza. There are no Coke/Pepsi products here. Coffee/Teas/Artisanal Juices and Sodas are only provided. As far as the ambiance and service here it's all 5 Stars across the board. Very friendly and cozy inside with smiles on everyone's faces willing to help with any request. Gender neutral bathrooms available as well as allowing your smaller dogs inside while you pick up your order as observed. I will say their bread and pastry selections seem to be top notch. WOW! I am so impressed by this Mediterra location. This was much different from the Sewickley location and I loved everything about my experience. I browsed the market while looking at the menu. The trays of pizza on display were very tempting, but I went with the Fall salad and soup of the day: coconut shrimp. I asked about the coconut shrimp soup, and the woman working the register showed me a post it of ingredients, but I don't think she really knew about it. I gave it a try since it sounded so unique. The fall salad was made with local farmed kale, radicchio, butternut squash, pecans, pears, cranberries, blue cheese, and fig-balsamic. The prices seemed high until I got the large portion sizes. This was a comfortable spot for a business meeting and then to continue working on my laptop. I asked for the salad dressing on the side and was glad to see it was 2 cups of good olive oil and fig balsamic vinegar. The two mixed together over the salad were delicious. I have had better experiences at Mediterra than today's visit; I was really disappointed in the service and quality today. I ordered an almond milk latte and waited about 10 minutes to receive it; it was not busy, and the drink was fairly cool by the time it reached my table. It seemed like it may have been made and then forgotten. The croissant looked beautiful, but the center was full of a runny batter-like filling that was unlike any almond croissant I've ever had before. I was unable to eat it due to the filling's grainy, liquid consistency and taste. This was my first time ordering an almond croissant here, so it may have been an off day, or may have just been different than I was expecting. My partner did enjoy his drip coffee and bostock. I have been here before for breakfast and lunch and experienced far better food and service; I'll be back, but will not order either of today's items again. read more

I've been stalking this place for a while on social media and have been putting it into the family's head any time we pass by it, so this visit is definitely overdue. We tried to come one other time, but the wait was very long and we were starving so we went elsewhere. But lo and behold, the brunch gods shined down on us one weekday we had off together, and we headed on over. The ordering process is a bit different, and they were pretty efficient in moving everyone through although it was definitely a slower mid-morning. Our orders arrived to our little patio table pretty quickly and we dug right in. The food itself was good, and the star of the show was the kid's meatballs. We kind of accidentally ordered them, as my husband thought it was the adult version. I would recommend the adult version as that bread looked WAY better than the bread we received. Baguette vs white bread from what I could see at the table across the way. My eggplant sandwich was good, but it was really elevated once I added some red wine vinaigrette. The menu states a vinaigrette comes with, but I was informed it's just what the eggplant is marinated in. My husband's breakfast sandwich was really delicious! I also very much enjoyed my pumpkin latte, because, as I'm sure you all know, it's mandatory for fall to order one. I'll be very interested to try other offerings from this little place. read more

This place exceeded all of my expectations for a Pittsburgh restaurant. It has such a southern charm to it as well as an amazing staff to back it up. All of the food we had tried for their breakfast option was so thoughtfully sourced food. It all tasted very fresh and well prepared. The unique concept of the cocktails for the breakfast and iced coffee's is something as a "must try" item while here. I would love to go back to Pittsburgh just to eat here again. Next time I would love to try the pizza as looking at other peoples pictures of this looked great. You can also tell that the bread is incredibly fresh and had an amazing crust to it. This was my first time at this location. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded. I ordered an assortment of pastries for a car picnic for my family and I. They were all super rich and yummy. I also got a rosemary latte - I've been on a rosemary kick lately so I was happy to see it on the menu- it was so good! The staff were super friendly! The woman who assisted me was super helpful and nice. It is a very loud space so I hard some difficulty hear but she was patient with me. COVID SAFETY- So I'm still taking covid precautions seriously and rarely go into stores and am not comfortable with in door dinning yet. So going into a busy store where there was people eating (obviously without their masks) was pretty overwhelming. All staff I observed had their masks on. I wish there was an option to wait outside for your coffee orders. The space is pretty tiny and there's no social distanced recommendations for spreading out waiting for drinks to go. While you can order off their menu online for pick up, desserts/pastries are not available online. In the future it would be great if they could include that but I know that's probably pretty tricky to keep updated with inventory. If you are not comfortable around other people, especially people eating this might not be the best place for you. Over all this is a cute and sweet place. I look forward to coming back after the pandemic. read more

I visited Mediterra Cafe for the first time for a baby shower event. I loved every moment of it. The ambiance was excellent. I loved the seating set up and the bar was gorgeous. There was also a separate smaller area for purchasing items. The food! Omg! I cannot wait to go back. Everything I had was delicious. They had charcuterie, cold salads, meats and bread. So delicious. I was there in a Sunday evening so I can't comment on weekday parking. I do know I visit the dentist on the same block and sometimes it's busier than others and it's pay parking on the Main Street. I've had a few other good meals here but this was a game changer. We recently had the opportunity to stop by Mediterra for the first time and check them out. They have been on our list for a while and it was worth the wait! They have a ton to choose from at their cafe and market. In the market they have everything ranging from sauce, to pasta, to plenty of cheese options. They have a diverse cafe menu too where everything sounds good. We went with: Breakfast Sammie Milk Bread French Toast Slice of Pepperoni Pizza Americano Coffee We got there right at 10:30, which is when they start serving their pizza. I know I'd be kicking myself if I didn't try it so I had to get a slice and it was the right call. A generous size with plenty of crisp and a crust that was light and airy. Easily would order that again. The breakfast sammie and milk bread French toast were awesome too. Each of these were bursting with flavor from their fresh ingredients and were definitely items we would order again. I didn't spend too much looking at the market area - but it seemed to be a lot of cute, local products. While there, I sat at the bar and enjoyed a latte and the avocado toast (add an egg!). We've been eating Mediterra bread for years thanks to awhile Foods and have been eager to try their cafe. We ordered lunch today and gosh everything exceeded our expectations! There aren't many causal "farm to stable" style restaurants nearby so Mediterra was quite the treat. I used a meal delivery service and ordered something no longer available. Within minutes of placing my order, a friendly employee called so apologetic for the out of date website and let me know what the current offering was. Everything on the menu sounded so good so I went with the new option and am so happy I did! We ordered the fresh cheese toast, it was a delicious piece of bread topped with a goat cheese spread, poached pears, pistachios and micro greens and WOW was it delicious. Such a great balance of complex flavors. We also tried the braised beef sandwich (so flavorful and delicious) and the French toast (so cozy and comforting)! Everything was incredible. My wife and I stopped here for brunch this past weekend and had a great experience. It was packed around lunch time on the weekend and it is first come first serve seating. The wait in line was long, but after eating the food it is easy to see why. We ordered a piece of the margarita pizza and Mac and cheese to split. The pizza was pretty good, but the Mac and cheese was amazing. Perfect texture and great flavor. For my meal I had the mushroom melt, which came with Brie, Swiss, pickled mustard greens, and a date and earl chutney. It was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. So some of the sweets are delicious and the bread is amazing. The salads are great but you should share. They are massive portions (albeit pricey). I personally don't like the coffee there. It's dark roast and way too acid. I wish the seating was more comfortable but I gave 3 stars because the music is unbearably loud. I mean you can't have a conversation. I think part of the reason why is that it is probably very echo in there. I'd go way more often but then I remember how loud and unpleasant it makes it and go elsewhere. We wanted to order sandwiches but were informed that they don't start serving those until 2, so we could only choose from the breakfast menu. We both ordered a breakfast sammie with a chocolate chip cookie to share. The sammies were okay. The eggs were a little too runny in my opinion. It was filling though. The cookie was DELICIOUS! I have eaten here numerous times since first coming over the winter. IT'S SO GOOD. It's usually pretty busy, so there's a line to order. The line weaves through the small market, you order at the register, and then get a number to bring to your table. There's a nice looking bar with seats as well. Your beverage and food orders will be brought to you. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing. The market has non-perishable items as well as bakery items. The breads are all really good. They have a rotating selection of baked goods (cupcakes, danishes, croissants, scones, poptarts, etc.) that are always yummy. I love the cocktails - they're all very fun and delicious. I especially love the Such A Teas. It's purple with flower petals on the outside of the glass! The coffee is good as well. I've ordered a few different things so far, but my absolute favorite is the shakshuka: spiced tomato, cheese, braised eggs, herbs, sliced baguette. It's served in a small cast iron skillet. The flavors are rich and warm. The cheese is salty. The eggs are always done perfectly. The baguette is chewy crunchy outside and soft inside. The breakfast sandwich is also amazing: two fried eggs, aged cheddar, Sicilian pesto, tomato, arugula, english muffin. The Sicilian pesto adds a ton of flavor and brightness. The english muffin is house-made and fabulous. The french toast is made with milk bread, so I think it's a lot better than your typical french toast. The turkey sandwich is very filling and tasty. A pizza order comes with 2 pieces of pizza. Everyone working here is super friendly and nice. One of my absolute favorite places. read more
