I ordered the chicken skewers for pick up. When I opened it at home there was no rice, no pita and a tiny bit of salad underneath the two small skewers. The description clearly say it comes with rice, salad, pita and two sides. Not true. I also ordered the lentil soup which was horrible. Basically just watery broth. No lentils at all. However when I was here it was owned by this lovely Palestinian couple, and my understanding is that they have retired. However the new owner/ partner is very nice and the food was good. This place is the best. One of Redwood City's many gems. I've been a customer for more years than I care to add up, and they are always a "delight" if you will. The falafel are top-notch in my humble opinion, the rotisserie chicken options are truly economical and fantastic (when they don't run out), and they don't stupidly overcharge for things like tabouleh, yoghurt, and pita, which the competition often seems to. Shwarma, gyros, kebaps, all those also shine at this place, and if you're ever considering like "let's do fast food" (which I also do) maybe work this awesome place into your repertoire to offset the bad karma chicken and beef from the you-know-whos. This is a great "old world" type of a place and I highly recommend it. Just don't order like 10 rotisserie chickens at 7pm and hose my dinner plans on a random Tuesday night. read more

Just had my favorite falafel plate here and it was as good or better than ever. The tabouli, hummus, saladand falafel were fresh and delicious, as was their nonpareil green sauce. The same cook is there as she has been for decades, and the falafel is still the best I have tasted out of hundreds of Mediterranean spots over the years.. This place used to have the silkiest, tahini-rich hummus anywhere, and they served falafel that was piping hot, tender with a delicately crisp crust and a savory flavor. The wraps were always soft and fresh. It had been many months since I had eaten there, and my mouth watered as we ordered, so the fall was steep: the hummus was grainy and tahini-scanty. The wrap was dry and chewy. The falafel nuggets in my wrap were dense and not even hot (falafels in a side order were hot, but otherwise similarly uninspired).
