The food at here is an inexpensive version of Raffi's. For $18, I got a combination platter, tabbouleh, hummus, pita bread, rice & a cucumber tomato salad. The combination platter also came with rice, a charred tomato & green bell pepper. The food is competently prepared so it's definitely worth 3 stars. However, when you compare it to nearby Zankou, Daphne's or Raffi's, I feel like M Local doesn't really stack up. I also wish that the pita that comes with the hummus appetizer could have been warmed or lightly toasted. It was just room temperature. My first choice on this day was actually Chick-Fil-A, but it was their 3rd day open and the parking lot was totally full. Since I had Baby C with me, that wasn't gonna work. Oh I love it! This would be the Pinkberry of Mediterranean food. The interior is so clean and light. There is plenty of seating for small or large groups. It's semi formal with service. You order at the window and then they bring it to your table. I had the greek salad with chicken... wow it was pretty hefty. It was served in a big bowl with lots of salad, chicken, and pita! The dressing and flavors were right on. We ordered the hummus which was also very very delicious. It was very filling and it was roughly $20 for two people and we were both stuffed. My sister is always raving about this place so I figured I'd give it a try. I went with my friend and we got the gyros sandwich with hummus and beef plate with cucumber salad. It was a large amount of food and we spent just under $20. I had the sandwich and it was only ok. It wasn't bad but there wasn't anything special about it either. All the ingredients were fresh and the flat bread was very soft. The hummus was creamier than other places and wasn't grainy which was nice. My friend thought her beef plate was just ok too. This was just really good. I didn't come here looking or expecting to find really good Mediterranean food. I wanted grilled meat with rice and something relatively healthy. I got so much more than that! I ordered a ton of food to go - and they got the meat out of the fridge FRESH on the grill while I was watching. It did mean there was a wait - but seeing the meat being grilled upon request made it worth it. Cucumber Tomato salad came with it and I'm usually not a fan but the dressing was great - and marinated the cucumbers in such a way where it wasn't so crunchy and bland - it was juicy and flavorful. The meat was tender and well flavored, the rice was good, and the GARLIC FRIES were a winner. I ordered the garlic fries and the hummus on the side and they were soo good. Service was ok. The cashier was nice and knew the menu well enough to narrow down what she would recommend for me. The only thing that I would complain about is the strange hour they close and the fact that they were bleaching the floors while we were still there. It was an unpleasant smell while eating and the fact that they were cleaning right next to the entrance was counterproductive because that would mean all customers would have to step on the bleach liquid. Also they did not have a sign up that said wet floor and to be cautious. If I was a random customer walking in and I didn't see that they were mopping the floor, I might have slipped. I think that perhaps that I should have substituted a salad for the fries. My partner ordered the combo platter with salad, rice, hummus and 4 pepperocinis. Salad was dressed with fresh made dressing, crisp lettuce and perfectly ripe tomatoes. I ordered the falafel sandwich wrap and babaganoush (eggplant dip similar to hummus). It came with a stuffed to the brim pita wrap with 4 falafel balls, fresh onion, pickled radish, lettuce and yummy dressing. So fresh and delicious! Very filling so it's great for a vegetarian or meat eater. Babaganoush was a little bit too salty and oily, but very good overall. It came with pita bread. However, they were very accommodating and updated my order with no issues. The chicken kedab and shish kebab were delicious.
