One of my favorite places to get a meal in Pasadena. If you've seen those places that have a cylinder of meat rotating behind the counter, that's what The Mediterranean Grill is. I'm a big fan of their Gyro and Beef bowls, and their Kebabs. Their meats are lean and flavorful, especially the Gyro. The main reason I keep going here is nothing they serve feels greasy and fattening as fast food typically does. When I feel like going out to eat something that is relatively healthy and doesn't make my stomach hurt like Burgers or Pizza, but is something more filling than salads, The Mediterranean is my top choice. (On the less healthy side, I find it hard to resist the Garlic Fries) The staff are very friendly and have yet to get my order wrong. It takes a bit longer than the true fast-food joints around here, but the result is worth waiting for. Also keep in mind they close kinda early, around 8:30 pm. read more

My favorite spot in town to get my Mediterranean fix! My office usually orders from here or we get catering for our meetings, but I also like to stop by on my own and enjoy some lunch on their patio. I've tried several of their things and I definitely have some favorites! Garlic fries - guilty pleasure. Very addicting. The salmon - I could eat this everyday. It's amazing! Comes w/some delicious rice. My usual chicken breast on fatush salad...Yummmmm. And healthy! Beef koobideh wrap - so tasty and juicy meat. Must admit, I put their garlic sauce on everything. I order extra to keep at home. I'm addicted. Definitely get some of this and indulge! The place has easy parking in the back and on the sides. If you like really salty food, this is the Mediterranean place for you. I ordered the combination platter and enjoyed the chicken. The beef was okay, a bit too salty. The rice here is incredibly salty. I don't know why it was so salty, but after a while I couldn't tolerate it and had to stop eating. Felt like salt on salt after a while. As I'm writing this my mouth still feels like there's salt in it. I don't know if they just messed up the rice today, but I would not risk getting the salt on salt rice again. The platter did not come with hummus and I did not enjoy the pita bread. At this point, I'd strongly advise going to Zankou chicken down the street instead. read more

I would rate this place somewhere between 3.5-4 stars. Parking is great, there's a street called Union Street that offers a lot of free parking. I called in and placed my order at 4:15 p.m. but arrived approx. 10 minutes earlier. Service is very friendly, the gentleman offered me a free bottle water as I waited for my food. The food was good, not great but good. I felt that my chicken kabob tasted a tad too salty and had this herbal flavor to it -- I usually get chicken kabob at another establishment and it does not have that flavor. The beef koobideh/luleh was good, flavorful, tender, and has a hint of onion in it -- which I enjoy. They also have a basket against the wall, across the register, that has free lollipops. read more

The owner was very friendly and made me feel extremely welcomed. Since I ordered online, my food was ready to go as soon as I got there. Both of our plates were absolutely amazing and filling. Came here with two of my girlfriends for lunch, we took a few minutes to look over the menu and ordered. I ordered their garlic chicken with tomato panini with their taboulleh. And my friends ordered a #11 combination plate which was chicken +beef koubideh and a #12 marinated chicken platter with shirazi salad and a side order of hummus. The food came out pretty fast, which made us happy because we were all starving! But when my friend got a spoonful of rice, she pulled this long strand of hair from her food and told the waitress. They were willing to make her a new plate, but my friend said that it was fine and that she didn't have to do that. I guess the lady felt bad cus she came out with a huge bowl of chicken salad for us and said that it was on the house. None of us liked the taboulleh or the shirazi salad so we barely even picked at it. We all ended up taking the rest of our food home because their portions are so generous! And even with the hair incident, the waitresses took care of it and was very nice and attentive. I think I just expected more from this place because they advertise themselves as a 'Mediterranean' restaurant, but preparing something as simple as a taboulleh salad and having it come out so wrong in flavor really disappointed me. read more

They were good, but standard. I actually prefer Daphne's. There was parking on the side in church parking lot (I guess its not available to park there on Sundays. There were a few tables out front, so we sat outside. Although they had shrubbery blocking street, it was still loud since Hill is a fairly busy street. Service was very good. I love the chelo kebab here! Always juicy and tender! Pricing is also reasonable, but the only thing is that the meal doesn't come with complimentary hummus like the majority of mediterranean places. Also a must try is the garlic fries. Talk about getting your money's worth! A small order of fries is no more than $2 and you get a HUGH portion! I don't know which to rave about first, the quality of the food, the communication and helpful support throughout the process, or the presentation and service.
