This was my second visit to Meesha based on a positive, first experience a year ago; it was like night and day. A cold welcome, complete inflexibly in our request to accommodate kids palate, and a couldn't-care-less attitude from our server. When our response to "was everything ok?" was met with indifference, the reply was "well at least we tried." To add insult to injury, the cost (including a mandatory 20% tip) was extortionate for the what we ordered, even for Seattle. Now I'm not against a tip being automatically added, but when it leads to zero incentive to provide a warm, friendly, or helpful experience -- no thanks. Great place for a date night. Amritsari fish was the bomb! Avadhi gosht was tasty and had potential but I felt lacked gravy was a little dry. Loved the side naan that came with it and it's one of the softest naan I've had yet. The Imli patakha cocktail tastes exactly like you expect it to. I really like Seattle has so many fusion cuisine places like this one. They have a well ventilated patio and took great care in maintaining covid restrictions. Would love to go there again read more

My partner and I ate at Meesha for Valentine's Day, when they had a fixed price menu. All of the food was exceptionally good. I particularly loved the rava uttapam rolled around a tender roast chicken preparation. However, we were seated one-half hour after our reservation, and there was no place to wait inside on a cold and rainy night. The service was terrible, and I felt particularly badly for the couple seated next to us: the waiter asked them to leave to free up their table for additional guests - BUT THEY HADN'T EVEN BEEN SERVED THEIR FINAL COURSE YET! In our case, we were never served one of the courses listed on the fixed menu (the palette cleanser), I suspect to allow them to turn the table more quickly. For more than $200/person for this special meal we expected better service to go with our stellar food. read more

Excellent food, definitely a cut above the other Indian restaurants in seattle. Flavors were on point. It was clear that they had gone a step beyond - ever dish had just that little extra oomph and seasoning to make it memorable. The choice of dishes was fantastic - salli boti is difficult to find even in India. Their keema Pao is the best I have ever eaten. So why such a 'middle of the road' rating? 1) You cannot goto a Thai restaurant and be told they are out of rice or noodles.You cannot goto a Mexican restaurant and be told they are out of tortillas. Similarly, at an upscale Indian restaurant you cannot be out of kulcha/naan/roti. *Simply not acceptable.* All the other dishes are eaten with these breads. Also if you run out, they aren't difficult to re-make. We were half way through our meal when we were told they ran out of kulcha(that was the only bread on the menu). Imagine sitting at a restaurant with a bunch of curries at the table and being told they have no bread to eat that with. It made for an incredibly frustrating dining experience. 2) Service was lacking. Only half of the food we ordered turned up and they had to reminded about the other ones. 3) Some of the dishes are still a work in progress. With that said, I like the fact that they are experimenting. So not dinging the rating for that. Salli boti - Consider bringing the actual Salli back into the dish. The mini chips don't stay crunchy for more than a few minutes at the table. I would also cleanly trim the fat out of chops. Similarly with the ghuhni chat, the soggy chunky fries on top didnt really work. It tastes good, but the textures and tang could be better. All and all, excited about the food, but the experience was just ok. Worried about coming back since I don't want to have to pre-order the entire meal to ensure they don't run out of bread half way through. read more

Disappointed overall. My wife and I were very happy to find a place that was open during the COVID-19 pandemic. But the food just wasn't that good, and was seriously overpriced. The positives? Good service. Ice cold draft beer. Comfy seats under a warm heater and a roofed-in area to protect diners from the elements. Pan fried rockfish. Butter chicken. The negatives? The carrot appetizer looked nothing like what previous diners had posted pictures of (sautéed happy little heirloom carrots basking in a mild dusting of spices). Instead the carrots were shaved and doused in an almost inedible fiery concoction that blew up my taste buds. And portion size was lacking. The rockfish, although tasty, was a bit on the skimpy side. Then having to order rice and kulcha bread a la carte jacked up the price. Finally as if we weren't being soaked enough, there was a 20% gratuity prepopulated on our bill. So for one beer, one cocktail, carrots, rockfish appies, one order to butter chicken to share, rice, and one kulcha bread, we had to part with $96. No thanks. read more

After more than a year and half, we did first indoor seating at this restaurant last week and had great experience. The ambiance was so lovely made me realized how I missed eating in a restaurant. It was 3 women cooking in the open kitchen, made me so happy! Very polite and friendly staff, wore mask all the time. Food was amazing, excellent spicy food if that's your taste. The ambience was amazing. However, upon arrival the staff was not very approachable. I felt as if my waiter was very irritated the entire time serving us and kept rushing my meal that I had to put $120 deposit down on. Upon receiving the food I had to pay $6 for a yogurt that I felt should be included with the curry. The food was decent however, I felt the curry could've been thicker and included a side of rice. However, the carrots were great alongside their chicken curry main dish. The check for 6 people was nearly $600 and did not include my $120 deposit. Hands down the best Indian food in the greater Seattle area. Only downsides - would be slightly expensive outside SRW (we still spent 70 bucks per head, including a drink and some sides); and it's a limited menu, so I hope they keep rotating so we can go again soon! read more

We got takeout from Meesha last night for the first time and it was delicious. Like, we-ate-all-the-food-before-we-could-take-photos delicious. Definitely the best Indian I've had in Seattle. The beetroot raita, butter chicken, and Rarah keema pao (think very fancy lamb sloppy Joes) were our favorites although the saag chaman was also tasty. Just a note that it's pretty spicy; I imagine this is more of a traditional level of spice than the almost zero stars default of a lot of US food but if you have issues with spice you might want TO ask if your dishes can be tailored to your preferences. I have been to Meesha many times and this review is overdue. The main thing to know about Meesha is the food is Indian with a fusion/creative twist. It is authentic and the dishes honor some traditional origins but the chef is super creative in putting a spin on things. The presentation is gorgeous and the food even better. It is even better to come with a group and do a tasting menu or order family style. I have had several lamb entries and they all were creative and flavorful. Lamb chops and lamb lollipops were memorable and moist. The Connaught Butter Chicken is a contemporary twist on a Delhi style butter chicken and you cannot go wrong with this dish. My almost 90 year old grandfather loathes eggplant and the burrata salad with smoked eggplant caused an epiphany for him. He could not stop eating this dish. I am a scallop fan and am very picky about their preparation. Meesha does not disappoint. They are perfectly seared with flavors that support their sweetness, yet are infused with traditional flavors from Banares. Such a delight. The kulcha bread is excellent and a staple. I have attended a couple of special event dinners, and always enjoy the amuse bouche as this is where the chef shines in experimentation. Disappointing food. Felt like it was too greasy for the curries, way too much oil for Indian fusion food. Breads were below par - Kulchas too thick, Parathas too crisp/brittle. Curries came 10 mins after bread. We really did want to like Meesha, heard a lot of hype. And we came back a week after our original plan was thwarted due to the outside deck being too hot. But the hype was just hype, left disappointed with the taste of below average food, and 20% gratuity pre charged for mediocre service. read more

Pretty good! Of all the dishes we ordered, many were good and some were great. We had the ram ladoo (lentil fritters that came in fried balls, just okay), the heirloom carrots, (tasty), the malwani squash, (red kuri, curry leaf, lime, good!), the beetroot raita (very good and also pretty!), the onion fennel salad (not great by itself but can be used as a topper for other dishes), the kulcha bread (also tasty), a side of rice (necessary for the curries), and handi paneer (the best thing). Service was extra friendly and attentive. Ambiance was okay, felt a little stiff, most people will like it more than I did. Four stars! read more

Terrible customer service, traveled from a far for good Indian food, ended up getting utter disrespect and hostility.

This place is a ripoff. 1. My drink, tequila with tamarind chutney. Very murky and not mixed well, the waitress' "favorite". 2. Was not expressed even though we asked for recommendations that the food would be too spicy to eat. Let people know the spice level! 3. When telling the waitress it was too spicy, she offered raita and we got charged $8 for it unknowingly. 4. Ate the lentil crepe, chaat, and kofhta. No complaints abt the kofhta but everything else was way too salty/spicy. 5. $13 rice pudding, was tiny, cold and the seasonal fruit was a piece of blood orange the size of a button. Reminiscent of overnight oats. 6. Automatic 20% gratuity that is not mentioned anywhere on their site or menu. Our server said she would let management know we complained about this. Reading back on months of reviews, other people have complained about this, which makes me think they just don't want to be upfront. Had a reservation. Was the first person in the restaurant. Was seated right by the door on a very cold night. Very politely asked to be moved away from the door. Despite a completely empty restaurant, was told "nope" with no effort to even try. When I inquired further, the manager came out and asked me "oh, are you not used to being told no?" in the most condescending tone he could muster. I don't care how good the food is. If you're going to be rude and not give a shit about customer service, I'm out. YOUR SERVICE IS YOUR BRAND. The general manager had a major attitude and then made passive aggressive moves like bringing me hot tea "to warm me up" served with a side of not even subtle F-U. I almost never ask restaurants for anything extra because I understand how hard the work is. I've been there. But this was just ridiculous. At the end of the day the food was just okay. I'd recommend you just got to an authentic Indian restaurant for better food, better people, no $300 bill or $16-- just okay-- cocktails. Won't waste my evening there again. I might have considered it if the food has been excellent. But it was uninspired and disappointing. read more

Sadly they don't do take out day of. And if you have a small friendly dog they also are not allowed in. They do offer outdoor seating but it's in the back of the restaurant. Everything tasted great, but the portion sizes are pretty small considering the price...especially the kofta and rose kheer. The rose kheer was a bit flavorless as well, I couldn't taste any rose and could only taste the coconut. The menu didn't have too many vegetarian options for entrees, either. Admittedly it was the best Indian food I've had in the Seattle area. I'd go back for a special occasion, it's a bit too expensive for regular dining. What a bummer! Meesha used to be the best Indian restaurant in town. We took all our friends here. It reminded us of the wonderful Dishoom restaurants in London. But now I can't even recommend it. Flavors less refined, portions smaller, prices up 25-30% across the board. Even the plating is significantly less appealing!?!? Maybe Preeti isn't as involved now that she has multiple restaurants. Overall experience at Meesha has been underwhelming. Experience with Food Pros 1) Drinks were pretty good. We ordered Imli Pathaka & Anar Shikanji 2) Moonglet as an apetizer was really good. Cons 1) Butter Chicken was good but not worth the price tag. 2) Kulcha was again good but nothing at the level of fine dine food. 3) Bread Pudding - We did not like it at all. We left half of it and did not even bother to take it home. Service Experience Our server was very polite and friendly but seemed little lost which kind of ruined the fine dine experience 1) We ordered Moonglet but was given some carrot dish, which at first we thought it came with the drinks. (Thankfully that wasn't our apetizer order). We were given Moonglet order after that without extra charge. 2) We ordered 2 Kulcha's but only one was served . Later we ordered some Ghee rice and were waiting for it when server came and asked if we wanted a to go box for our food. He totally forgot that we were waiting for rice. For the price that you pay at Meesha, you would expect a much better service Lastly, all the tables are placed so close to each other that you can literally hear each other's conversations. read more
