There is a self-order option or you can walk up to the cashier and all the drinks are made to order. This is a great Taiwanese dessert place for shaved ice, ice grass jelly or drinks :) I usually go for a drink if im in the mood for something lighter, or if im in a group of friends, id get a huge shaved ice for all of us to share. I have lived in Arcadia for the last two years. My husband and I love coming to Meet Fresh. I always get their Matcha Red Bean Waffle and a Jasmine Milk Tea or the Mango & Passion Fruit Tea. I would give this meet fresh 5 stars, but the service has been very upsetting in the past month and a half. I am African American and my husband is white. There has been new staff who always ask to see my receipt when I go to pick up my food and drink. This wouldn't be a big deal if they used the same protocol with my husband when he picks up our order. Either way, I've tried to be understanding to it until tonight. After work, my husband and I went to Meet Fresh to give ourselves a treat. It wasn't busy (it's a Thursday) and there weren't that many people in the shop. I ordered an egg waffle. I saw one other person before order one and the staff didn't ask to see his receipt. When all our drinks and the one bowl we ordered were called, my husband picked it up (didn't ask for him to show his receipt). Once our number is called again for the egg waffle, I went and grabbed it and sat down. About a minute after I sat down, one of the staff members shouts at me with an alarmed expression and tone saying "I need to see your receipt for that!" He looked at me like I had done something very wrong. It was embarrassing cause I'm sitting with my husband with very few people in the restaurant and he's making it seem like I stole a waffle! So my husband got our receipt, showed it to the employee, and the employee responds "Oh, sorry. Thank you." I would understand if this was the same protocol for everyone but I didn't see them ask anyone else for their receipt nor do they ever ask my husband when he picks up an order. I felt so embarrassed. For a slushie the strawberry slushie was very smooth it was more like a smoothie, you don't get those annoying chunky ice crystals -- so good. Tmi? Yea I cringed too, got it anyway, and won't do it again but you can taste it in the milk tea- NOT enjoyable. Left a grainy after-taste after every sip. I LOVE this spot. It's different than most boba spots in the sense that it doesn't cater to the American taste buds. You won't find any chocolate or coffee options, there's no Thai tea or matcha, they don't focus on trendy at all but what they do offer they have specialized in making this place 1 of my 2 favorite boba spots! I had a funny experience yesterday and wanted to share. So yesterday I ordered the jasmine milk tea. Asked for less sweet. The cashier told me the least I could do was 1/3 sugar. Okay that's fine. Then I got my drink and ... omg it was so sweet!! I was overwhelmed by how sweet it was. The guy was in training and made a mistake. He added extra sugar when he shouldn't have for this drink. I'm not mad about it. I'm writing this review for others to know what I learned. Their Jasmine milk tea is premixed so they just add tea. Whatever sweetness it is, they cannot adjust it. This I believe is non dairy creamer, but please confirm with them cuz I didn't ask. So it's creamier like the milk tea you boba addicts are probably used to. So the milk tea is sweet already then they can add extra tea to lessen the sweetness, but that's about it. However if you get the Fresh milk tea, they can make it 0 sugar. This is straight tea with milk like you would do for an iced coffee at Starbucks. If you want less to 0 sugar, order this!!! I like milk in my tea but not so much the sugar, so next time I'll get this! Don't forget to get their app to earn reward points! I don't believe they have a stamp card so just get the App and then u will have one less thing to carry.
