The jelly noodles were as chewy as udon noodles. The sweet potato & taro balls were also of the same consistency. The boba completed the chewy trifecta. There are two registers: one self-service and the other with an employee. All outlets near the benches in the back half of this location have multiple cords to charge your electronic devices; there is also free WiFi. If this location will be anything near as busy as the others, I can see the lack of registers as a problem in the future. The store was incredibly spacious and clean, with cute statues of the founders (Fu siblings) by the door. Kpop was playing in the background, and I found it to be a pleasant environment for people to socialize or otherwise get work done with a delicious dessert to boot. In my party of four, we opted for the Icy Taro Ball #3 and the Eight Treasures bowl. We'd debated on adding a third dessert, but it was a good thing that we just got two: the portions were MASSIVE, not to forget perfect for a photo opp before we dug in. The Icy Taro Ball #3 was tasty, with plenty of QQ mochi balls to pair with the syrupy-sweet shaved ice. I actually enjoyed the syrup in that dish, and the icy-chewy texture was a delight to experience. However, the star definitely had to be the Eight Treasures bowl. Not only is it pretty to look at, but it also had a lot of different and delicious toppings to try: sweet potato, mochi balls, red bean, mung bean, kidney beans, etc. The scoop of caramel ice cream on top was SO GOOD, as paired with the shaved ice made for an incredible creamy-icy texture. I really enjoyed this bowl, in particular. Prices aren't cheap, but for the size of the desserts, it makes sense that they average around $11-12. The wait is super long sometimes and they have an area for ordering on the left side of the cashier, but it's unplugged. I like their grass jelly shaved ice, but when you add a bunch of toppings it gets pricey and not worth it. If you plan to stay for a while, they have USB cables to charge your phone (if that even matters). There is a variety of desserts and drinks to choose from. My first reaction was mochi, red bean, taro, jelly etc.. mixed in a bowl?!?! Hmmm, but don't knock it till you try it. A familiar ingredient was TARO, so we got the Double Taro which came with "mochi" looking balls, grounded red bean, grass jelly and taro balls and a scoop if vanilla ice cream. It also came with some creamer on the side. I tasted the flavors separately and it was ok. Then my husband suggested to mix it and add the creamer, at that point it had better flavor and textures. The grounded red beans almost tasted like a crumbled brownie - no complaints here. This was also enough to share among 4 adults who are watching our sugar intake. It was different but we liked it. The kids had the Strawberry ice, kinda like a shaved ice treat on steroids with slices of fresh strawberries, condensed milk and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The serving size was huge (hence the $12 price tag). It was definitely enough to share with 6 people. It looked super sweet, but the ice balance out the flavors. Definitely a good first experience! Honestly I would give them 5/5 before they start making us order at the kiosk. Now with the new ordering kiosk and the people even refuse to talk to you, so this is completely 1 out of 5. I still remember the first time going there a year ago, the people working there were very nice and friendly, and they care about the service they offer...now they are cold, refuse to talk to you and tell you go to the kiosk instead of helping you with sincere. Since everyone is ordering from the kiosk so supposedly they should be quicker with their food processing and making, however the time is longer than before and it has been awhile until the food is ready. I am giving 1 extra star instead of 1 itself because I completely understand how hard it is to find workers nowadays to be part of the food service industry. But that is not an excuse for the bad management. I have been to different Meet Fresh and the Cerritos location by far is the worst one yet, mainly because of the Kiosk and the attitude from the workers. This is my first time dining here at this location. Came in around 9pm, the place is quite filled but not full. We ordered the deluxe chocolate waffles, the Icy Grass Jelly Sig. and the win-win boba. The drink and the waffle were quite nice and are reasonably priced. The issue was with the Grass Jelly, coming in I expected a flavorful dessert- but I was greeted with what was the most bland and flavorless ice dessert I have ever tasted. Only when it melted was when I was able to down it easier. Altogether, at least half the food was nice, the ambience was warm and spacious. Unfortunately the service was why I considered a 2 star review. The service was slow, my waffles came out 10 minutes after I received my other items. I was told they were preparing it, some time passed and I checked once more- "we're finishing it". After a few more minutes, they pushed out 2 deluxe waffles for another customer that came AFTER me. However, despite all that, I was going to chalk it down to understaffing(there were 4 of them)- until: my order was ready and I went to pick it up, one of the staff members grabbed a few utensils and tossed it at my face like it was chump change to a beggar.
