First I must say this place is pretty authentic so it might not be fond of people who are used to the tea and shaved ice in the US. For those of you that haven't tried Taro, it's either love or hate it. Red bean here is freshly cooked unlike some other places tastes like from a can. No fruits here, beans, vegetables(sweet potatoes, taro, taro balls,taro rice balls), and chewy stuff. You can customize your own taro ball series and herbal jelly series, no more than 5 toppings now I heard. can sub boba to something else. what else... I am not a fan of rice balls and sesame rice balls...I just don't like the taste. and sesame rice balls normally take ten mins to cook...if they are broken, the kitchen cooks it again. so it might take longer time. Staff: many new faces, so desserts can actually take longer to be done. Drinks: traditional G-milk tea, herbal tea with cream, winter melon tea with herbal jelly, hot black tea , taro slush without the cream. I dislike fruit tea no4 so sour xD Hot: hot herbal jelly no 6...sub crystal jelly to small taro balls or taro rice balls haha, purple rice porridge with crystal jelly and taro rice balls. I just love taro rice balls xD Tofu Pudding: Peanut tofu pudding is always my favorite. I don't like the sweet potatoes in shaved ice haha but I know I've seen sweet potato slush ...don't know if it's good they import taro balls, taro rice balls, small taro balls, noodle jelly, mochi, and more more stuff directly from Taiwan, and it's in Irvine, that's why the price is higher.... and if you live in irvine you shouldn't complain. In the Spring of 2008, I visited Taiwan and gained something like 8 lbs. in a span of 1 month. I ate everything with the mentality that I probably will not have it again for a very long time. Meet Fresh was the main culprit for my weight gain besides my own lack of self-control. With that said, I was very intrigued and interested when a co-worker told me that Meet Fresh had opened a location in Irvine. Fast forward to Meet Fresh Irvine 2017 and my experience was nothing that could lead to a weight gain. This place has so much potential yet it fails miserably at delivering a good product. I ordered their Hot Herbal Grass Jelly with red beans, taro, and their signature rice balls. For $1 extra, I also added their sweet potato rice balls filled with taro paste filling. It cost me nearly $9 for my order. My hot grass jelly came to me lukewarm. The taro rice ball with taro filling was practically cold. This kind of dish is really not good if it's lukewarm. Moreover, the taro pieces were so nasty I couldn't finish it and I looovve taro. I brought the taro pieces home hoping the raccoons and possums in my yard would eat it since those guys eat everything. Even the raccoons and possums rejected the taro from here. Me and my friends were here today and I ordered a melon tea with small toro ball ($4.5), it was way way too sweet for me and toro ball was kind of hard, so I kindly ask them to make it less sweet for me which they did, but it was still too sweet and water down for me, so I ask if I can pay the difference and get something else, surprisingly they won't let me, they keep on offering me to make it less sweeten only, at this time, I don't want to make a scent so I just ask them to put it in a to-go cup for me, which I discard when I walk out their door. (I only drink total 2 sip) It was just a poor customer service management skill that throw me off today, I wish they will handle things like this better next time. read more

Possibly the most disappointing dessert I've eaten. The first impression I had was already a deceiving one. I thought I was lining up for sushi. It must have been the lanterns that were hung up that resembled majority of the sushi joints we've seen. The menu and pictures looked delicious and I was honestly looking forward to the taro and sweet potato mochi balls. When we finally got to taste what we ordered after what felt like an hour of wait time, everything ordered was bland. The mochi's texture was decent but there was absolutely no flavor - except from the sweetness from the brown sugar. Food: Delicious, refreshing icy herbal. The Icy Grass Jelly No.6 is my favorite. I usually order it and add on extra jelly, taro balls. Each add on is only around $0.50 ~ $1. The herbal shaved ice is always interesting to enjoy. It'll bring a good refreshing coldness to your mouth at first, then followed by a slight bitterness from herbal, and sweetness from rock sugar (I think). If I happen to want more of the herbal, I order Herbal Tea with Milk. It's delicious too. Service: Friendly staff, online order. I came here on Wednesday night and ordered 2 of Signature Icy bowls, one for dine in and one for togo. I really enjoyed the bowl for dine in and was looking forward to enjoy the other one at home. But I was disappointed when I opened this, the shaved ice was too little, not even half of the other one I had at store, even though I paid the same amount of money! This wasn't the first time, nor the second, it was the third time already. Maybe you can say I should have check on ir before leaving but they should have made this with same quantity and quality, with $6.8 for each bowl. I won't be back anymore, or at least this location. I recently ordered peanut butter ice cream here and noticed that the price on the menu board was listed as $0.99, but I was charged $1.25 at checkout. When I asked the cashier about the discrepancy, they simply replied, 'Ma'am, you HAVE TO pay tax.' I was charged an unusually high 26% tax(?) on the item, followed by an additional 7.75% tax at checkout based on his explanation. The confusion could have been easily clarified with a better explanation, but the cashier was impatient and didn't offer any helpful details. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and unsure about the pricing practices here. One star for the lack of clear communication. read more

Got to stop in for their soft opening this week as they are still getting the store ready for a grand opening soon, and absolutely loved the desserts! We had a chance to try the MeetFresh Signature which had Purple Taro Balls and Sweet Potato Taro Balls on herbal jelly and shaved ice. Amazing. We also had their Q Mochi with caramel and coconut flakes that was probably the best mochi I have ever had, and an iced herbal tea with mini taro balls and whipped cream that was spectacular. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for dessert after eating anywhere at Diamond Jamboree, or nearby in Irvine at all for that matter. read more

The attitude of employees werent welcome and I felt a bit angry from them while we ordered and when they asked us to walk out to wait until they call. First time I've come back since Covid. There was no napkins inside the bag, they ran out of big taro balls, but when they asked to substitute with small taro balls for my Icey bowl. Visited Meet Fresh on a Friday afternoon with high hopes for some delicious mango and strawberry shaved ice. Unfortunately, they were completely out of mango, so we settled for the strawberry version. The strawberry shaved ice was just okay, nothing to write home about, but not terrible either. It could have been so much better with a generous helping of strawberries - they were a bit stingy in that department. Menu: I really like their varieties of shaved ice, but understand its kind of an acquired taste. I usually get their signature shaved ice, and it hits the spot every time. I love Meet Fresh! I tried their Black Sugar Fresh Milk with Boba and it was delicious. Perfectly sweetened and flavored. I actually wanted no Boba since I was full from my meal, but the black sugar came only with the boba part so I had to get it as it was advertised. Still delicous. Their taro and cassava balls are always fresh. Some of their shaved ice doesn't come with the creamer, so you have to request for it. Give it a try! First time we ordered a meet fresh signature, It doesn't look like the one on the menu. We didn't ask why but the server seems noticed our confuse and come explained. The one we want on the menu is the cold one, but we don't know so we ordered the warm one. We got a cold one for free after he explained, and it taste yummy! We used to love this place and lately the service here has been shitty. I guess the cashier "Paulina" is in a bad mood today. She was rude when she's getting our orders then refuse to give cream with our order. They wanted to charge a quarter for each cream that is supposed to come with the dessert.
