After lunch my girlfriend wanted to come here for some dessert. This was my second time visiting this Meet Fresh location, first time I came here with coworkers after a 5K holiday series run. My coworker suggested their Taro Ball No. 1 (mung bean, lotus seed, and boba), which was good but left us with melted shave ice since it was a warm day eating in the shop and we didn't devour it quick enough. My impression of their dessert changed ever since my girlfriend suggested their cold Herbal Jelly, we ordered cold Herbal Jelly No.1 (mung bean, barley, and boba). Even though some of the shaved ice melted in this one as well, but it tasted like you were drinking grass jelly drink. The boba was our least favorite, since it was a bit chewy and wasn't soft enough. Service was kind of slow and the self ordering station didn't work well for us, since we couldn't get it to process our payment we had to get to the back of the line to order. I wasn't surprised when the line was all the way to the door when I got to Meet fresh. I highly recommend this place for a group of friend meet up. Nice ambience and fun atmosphere. I ordered the top 5 recommended: grass jelly, taro balls with tofu and a Mochi shaved ice. I also got the iced milk tea and hot almond milk. My favorite was the tofu. Lol.... no, no, and no. Came on a Saturday night and it was PACKED with people (primarily young Asians). The line was out the door, but I hadn't had Meet Fresh in a really long time, so I decided to just wait. The line moves pretty slowly, and although theres a sign that says you could use a machine at the front to order, it was broken so everyone just had to wait to order with the worker. I liked how above the cashier, there were three TVs which showed the menu. The gist of the three TV titles were: "cool down", "stay warm", and "drinks". It was nice they separated the menu items in this sense :) I opted for the Meet Fresh cold signature, which had herbal jelly, taro balls, and milk. My total was ~$7.50, which I was not too thrilled about. Ordered to-go because it was packed and literally there were tables with bowls and cups piled up. The entire time I was there, ~45 minutes, no worker had come out to clear the tables :( Got home and pulled out my dessert. It came with a large creamer/milk, so I poured it over my dessert. The bowl itself wasn't that big, and I soon realized that the entire bottom was just ice. The herbal jelly was whatevers, and the taro balls were scarce. I honestly could have gone to 99 Ranch Market and made this myself for less than $3... -__- I know Meet Fresh has a loyalty card that might make this place seem worth it for some, but it doesn't for me. There is so much variety in drinks and desserts here that it is the perfect spot for a group of friends to hang out for even the pickiest of eaters. The place is usually quite busy, even on a weeknight, so plan accordingly. My go-to order is the signature shaved ice. It is a bit on the sweeter side so if you don't like sweets, it probably wouldn't be the ideal choice for you. I also like their fresh milk and milk teas. The pricing is pretty fair for the amount of tea that you get. There is also a self checkout station for those who don't want to wait in line. Wowzers, the Meet Fresh craze is real. The line at this packed location at Diamond Jamboree was out the door and down the path at around 8pm tonight when we stopped by. This place is so authentically Taiwanese I am curious how it will fare on western palates but I feel it will do just fine. Something for everyone, and today (my 1st time) I learned every single thing on the menu can be easily customizable to your taste I dug it, but I am docking a star because it isn't the cleanest inside and I still gag a little reflecting back. The bathroom was straight filthy, with dirty water (or worse) on the floor. And I sat gingerly at our table, half-wishing I had gotten my dessert to-go. Also, one cashier? There has to be a more efficient way of operating a business given all the demand. I know most shaved ice is similar to this but I was hoping this would be better. too much ice without enough syrup. also I will say the ice cream they topped it with was delicious. I know Meet Fresh all the way back from when I lived in Hacienda Heights, and I had no idea they had one down in Irvine until now! I decided to try it out as they are known for their great desserts, teas, and boba! I decided to walk 2 miles from Paris Baguette here and it was definitely worth it. I walked in just as they opened (11) and I was surprised when the staff just looked at me and didn't say anything. If the customer service was a bit better, I would give this place 5 stars. There are so many options from shave ice with taro to a simple milk tea with boba. I was in the mood for anything cold because I had just walked for 30 minutes in the sun. I decided on one of the regular milk teas and I got it with less sweetness and boba. The service was quick and the drink tasted really fresh. What I liked the most about it was the boba balls, which were really small and extremely easy to chew on. It had the perfect consistency which means they cooked it long enough. It didn't taste old and hard like other places I've been to. The whole thing was refreshing and it wasn't too sweet. I will definitely be back here for another great drink and I recommend that you try one of the drinks if you come here. Keep in mind you can't get most of the drinks with less sweetness. You can wait in line to give your order to a cashier. There's also another line to place your order into the system as is (no customizations), pay for it, and get a buzzer. The self-order line is way faster and shorter than the other line. It's also easy to use: 1) Pick up a buzzer from the top stack. 2) The buzzer will light up with a number that you type into the screen. 3) Place your order and pay via credit card. If you're looking for a dessert place in diamond jamboree definitely try this store!! Food: I came with two other friends and we ordered the strawberry shaved ice. It came with a huge mountain of shaved ice mixed with condensed milk and topped with strawberry syrup, vanilla ice cream, and frozen strawberries. It was my first time trying this desert and right after I finished eating it I wanted to order another one because it tasted so amazing. The size is also pretty big so I would recommend splitting it with a group, we had three in our group and it was a perfect size for us. Price: it was about $15 in total after tax which is five dollars each if you're in a group of three and I think that's a pretty good price for how good of a dessert and how big the size of the desert is if you're splitting with others, however it's a lot for one person. Location: The store is located in diamond jamboree so there's a lot of parking available in the structure and a lot of really good food places if you want to eat before you get dessert. The sweetness is at it's right amount & the tea has a nice aroma after taste. Grass jelly is soft and bouncy as usual. Hot Red Bean Soup (Red Bean, mini Taro balls, & Sweet Potato Taro balls) - Not too sweet. Perhaps, this is a refreshing dessert. Icy Grass Jelly #6 (Grass Jelly, Boba, Crystal Jelly, & Noodle Jelly) - Grass Jelly is good as usual. As for the boba, you actually would have to eat it while it's fresh or else it would clump up and star to taste grainy. Crystal Jelly & Noodle Jelly are both delicious with a very light texture. Let me start this by saying: I've been to Meet Fresh 3 days in a row with my friends. My friend had taken me here a few months ago, and I got my brother, his girlfriend, and my girlfriend absolutely hooked on it. Originally, I would order the signature icy grass jelly which is a brown sweet shaved ice topped with grass jelly and taro balls. But as of lately, I've been ordering the Pudding and Q Mochi shaved ice which consists of shaved ice covered in condensed milk, different sized taro mochi balls, two types of pudding (almond and egg I think), and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Both are delicious, but I'd probably say the pudding and Q mochi shaved ice is my favorite item at Meet Fresh. I am honestly addicted to this place! Meet Fresh is my all time favorite spot to go for some quality Taiwanese dessert, or even dessert in general. I have gone back so many times that I am recognized by more than half of the employees... So here it goes: Food Quality: Great. Just great. I am not sure what more to say about it other than that. I always order the Iced Meet Fresh Signature with a side of boba. The best part of it would have to be the sweet potato and taro mochi, so if you don't intend on getting this specific menu item, I suggest you try something that includes them! I know it is traditional to pour the creamer over it, but I am personally not a huge fan of the hazelnut-like taste it introduces to the dessert. Although I have not ordered the drinks, I have heard great things about them. I am most certainly looking to give it try for myself next time. Service: If you are planning to try this place, I would recommend going on a weekday or during off hours. Rush hour here would have you waiting in line for over 30-45 minutes. The lines gets super long, but it is sooo worth the wait. There is only one cashier/register which explains why it takes so long to order, but they have just introduced a self-ordering system. You can just skip the entire line and order by yourself right by the register if you don't plan to make any alterations to the menu items. Overall, the employees are really nice, but the wait could take a pretty long time. However, it is understandable since they are almost always packed. Recommend?: I would definitely recommend this place. The scents from the outside may be a bit offsetting at first, but once you get in it dies down (oddly enough). I have taken several of my friends here and they have all given great feedback. I'm sure I got them all hooked too! Also, if you have not signed up for their rewards program, you must do it! They constantly notify you about rewards they have such as 10% off your next purchase or BOGO 50% off, which come in handy if you are a Meet Fresh addict like myself.
