Nothing to write home about! We picked up sushi for dinner ( first time ) and I find the quality below average.

The guy in front of me, Deng, looked at me with such envy as he cut in line. This place is incredibly popular! Every time I pass by, there's a long queue. Even on rainy days, people are willing to get soaked in the rain just to have a bowl of hot tonkotsu ramen. While you're queuing, the staff will hand out menus. The ordering system is similar to Ichiran Ramen; you can choose the noodle firmness, broth consistency, spiciness, green onions, oil level, and MSG amount . The basic ramen is only $13. I added a soft-boiled egg and pickled cabbage for $2 each. Although the pickled cabbage is really expensive , I can't help it, I'm a pickled cabbage addict! The pickled cabbage paired with the rich tonkotsu broth was refreshing. The broth was flavorful but not greasy, the noodles were chewy and springy, and the portion size was just right. Overall, it's incredibly good value for money; no wonder there's always a queue. After eating, you really get that "Ah~ this is the taste of happiness" feeling

Ramen Danbo on Robson Street specializes in traditional Fukuoka-style tonkotsu ramen and has become…read moreone of the most popular ramen spots in downtown Vancouver. The restaurant has a compact, wood-accented interior that feels warm and inviting while keeping service efficient. It's common to see a line stretching down the sidewalk, but the quick turnover and organized staff keep the wait moving at a steady pace. The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen is the reason to come. One of my favorite parts of the experience is being able to customize nearly every aspect of the bowl, from noodle firmness and broth richness to the amount of pork fat. The tonkotsu broth is creamy, rich, and deeply savory without becoming overly heavy, while the thin Hakata-style noodles have a fantastic bite when ordered firm. The slices of braised chashu are tender and flavorful, and adding a soft-boiled egg rounds out the bowl perfectly. If you're in the mood for something with more heat, the Rekka Ramen is an excellent option. The spicy red pepper sauce adds a bold kick that complements the rich pork broth without overpowering it. I also recommend ordering the pan-fried gyoza, which arrive with crisp, golden bottoms and a juicy, savory filling. If you somehow finish the noodles before the broth, you can order a kaedama refill to enjoy another serving without wasting a drop. Despite the constant crowds, service is impressively fast and well organized. Once seated, orders are taken quickly, and bowls arrive piping hot within minutes. The restaurant is better suited for a quick, satisfying meal than a long, leisurely dinner, but the efficient pace is part of what allows them to handle the steady stream of customers so well. Ramen Danbo consistently delivers everything I look for in a great bowl of tonkotsu ramen. The ability to customize each bowl, the rich and balanced broth, and the perfectly cooked noodles make it easy to understand why it remains one of Vancouver's busiest ramen destinations. It's a place I would gladly return to whenever I'm craving authentic Hakata-style ramen.

But this place, is just down right bad. The first warning was that it was lunch hour and nobody was eating here - all the other stalls had lineups. I ordered just about the most basic item on the menu for a Thai place - chicken pad thai. Noodles - overdone Sauce - bland, too sour, no depth of flavour. Tasted watery and nothing like actual pad thai. dish was SOUPY - its like these people have never had an actual pad thai before. Cooked in a wok, but may as well not have as there was zero char flavour in this like an actual pad thai should have. Why is half the dish shredded carrots? Barely any bean sprouts or egg. The chicken portion is tiny. No green onions. Served with a small wedge of lemon - should be lime I asked for extra spicy - tasted mild/medium at best. Literally they got nothing right for a classic quick Thai dish. Avoid at all costs. Your $16 is better spent virtually anywhere else. I suppose the lady who took my order was nice enough. But thats not enough to earn more than 1 star. Ambiance doesnt really count here since its just a food court and this business has nothing to do with the common seating area maintenance. I dont expect much from a food court stall. Certainly I dont expect the quality of a thai restaurant, or anything remotely close to the pad thai in Bangkok, even on the streets. But this is simply not pad thai.

Sounds better than it actually tasted. It was a bit on the salty side and I couldn't detect any of the dried mango that was supposed to be in it. I might try the noodles next time and see if they're any better than the rice. My mom seemed to enjoy the noodles when I bought them for her last time and I never heard any complaints about the rice from my brother. Maybe the food was better that day than when I ordered my rice. Or maybe they had issues too and just weren't being very vocal about it.

Service is quick and they have a counter that faces the kitchen if you're a solo diner. I've also done doordash and the food is packaged well. My only gripe with the delivery is that they don't deliver the noodle in a bowl that is big enough for the entire dish. The noodles and soup are put in two different bowls but you almost can't put them together because it will overflow. This is difficult of you're staying in a hotel so if you can, just eat in the restaurant because they also have hot sauces and pepper that they serve on the table, which they don't give to you if you order delivery.

We received our food within 10 mins. We ordered the vegetarian khao soi. The fried egg noodles added a nice crunch and visual, but the long rigid strands made it a little tough to eat together with the khao soi. The broth looked spicy, but the main flavor profile of the coconut curry was the creamy sweet coconut milk flavor. There were plenty of veggies that were all cooked well, and the rice noodles were fun to chew and novel! Personally, I would have liked some condiments to increase the spiciness or add another layer of flavor. But, for what it is, it was good.
