Honestly watch out when you purchase items here. EVERY TIME I go here I find expired items. The workers do not rotate product, today I found an item that expired 7 months ago. Not the first time I've seen expired items that expired over 6 months ago. I come here so often since it's so close, don't get me wrong lots of stuff are dated good, but make sure you check each item you purchase because I've seen many different sauces, boxed goods and all kinds of foods that are expired. read more

love the store, love the MPerks. except for the store having the worst meat department of any I've been to. they tell me it's not possible for them to cut steaks thin, like Kroger did for me. ( I'm told my health is dependent on me cutting red meat ). So I have to make a special trip to Cattlemens for my meet. And why can't they count to eight? Twice I've received 8 packs of store brand sausages with a patty missing. Convenient store, nice people, and good deal Just buy your meat elsewhere, Aside from having to drive cross town meat is a better value elsewhere. I really like to support Michigan owned businesses, but the Southfield Meijer makes it kind of tough. From product selection to checkout, this location never seems to deliver 100%. I've rarely ever seen more than 2 of the 31 full serve checkout lanes open at once. Why don't they just get rid of the 20 or more lanes that never get used and free up that floor space. Leaving them there and not open is just a constant reminder to your customers that at one time your service was much better than it is today. If you don't get to the store on the first day of the new sale week, expect that over half of the sale items that you're looking for will be gone. This phenomenon is even worse early in the month when people's government food benefits reset. Every other store in the Meijer chain is better than this one and doesn't have these inventory and checkout issues. Its been going on for so many years that it doesn't phase me anymore. The bar is about as low as it can go. read more

This is probably not specific to this location, but this was new to me this past weekend. This Meijer has replaced their bagging carousel in the checkout lines with a more traditional belt leading to a bagging area at the end of the station. So now instead of the cashier bagging items as they are scanned, they all get piled up. Forgive me if I simply don't envision a slew of baggers being hired when there are hardly ever open checkout lines anyway lol. I like to come here off peak when the store is quieter and only having 1-2 full service checkouts open doesn't matter. But now I have to bag most of my own groceries (the cashiers help once they've scanned everything), rendering my Meijer shopping completely obsolete. I prefer to shop here over Kroger, but it's twice as far of a drive and now completely the same checkout experience. Weak. read more

Meijer is a large store with food on one side and everything else on the other. Michigan based "Meijers Thrifty Acres" offers one-stop shopping for the family. What I like about it is: 1. Produce is pretty fresh 2. Huge assortment of artisan & commercially made breads 3. Anything you are looking for in a can 4. Wide asles 5. CLEAN STORE But what sets Meijer apart from the competition is that the staff is knowledgeable about where stuff is and good product information. For example, yesterday, my wife sent me looking for a shredded cheese called Gruyère. It's a smoky version of Swiss. I couldn't find it, and I found a nice lady in the Deli section who correctly pointed me over near the dairy section where I found it. read more

I have been shopping here for years. I like this location, it is more up to date then some of the others. I come here for literally everything since they sell everything. I find they have some specialty items you cannot find at Kroger and the prices are good. I also like that they have a reliable website that tells you if your desired products are in stock, which I have been using a lot lately due to supply chain shortages. This is a great place for clothing, holiday purchases, Halloween! I have bought so much of that over the years and Meijer always has good sales and discounts. The people who work here are typically helpful and friendly. This place is on my list for my shopping rotation. read more

I love this grocery store! I always find what I need and prices are fair. I prefer to shop at night when it's nice and chill, but unfortunately that means the shelves are more bare but night stockers are often happy to check the back for my needs. The store is always clean and well organized. They do get very busy during the day and have trouble keeping lanes moving, but they always remain polite. read more

The pharmacy at the Meijer Commerce Township location is the worse! Two days in a row, I went to pick up a prescription, and two days in a row I went to pick it up. I was never notified that there was a problem getting the medication. On the second day, I was told they might never get the drug and if by chance they do, they don't know when. It was recommended that I just go to another pharmacy. So, I followed their recommendation and went to CVS. Not only do they have the drug, I transferred my entire family's prescriptions to CVS! Way to go Meijer! I will tell everyone about the great customer service. They just refer you to another pharmacy and don't care about retaining customers. read more

The store's entry and restrooms were not very clean. I retuned bottles for my son and found that most of the machines needed emptying. read more

In general the store is great, mostly neat, and clean. Worse meat department ever. Thay claimed they couldn't cut a thin steak. Krogers' butcher can, cattlemens has the same machine and do it. Seams their butcher is too lazy to do it. Told me they couldn't male any special orders after 3:30 pm bec the machine is already clean. good thing I'm retired and don have to go after work. Every single time I've been here, the lines to check out are wrapped around the aisles back into the store. Tonight went in to grab a few items and there were 2 check outs open and one self checkout. I use to love Meijer since Hiller's closed by my. I shop at the Haggerty and 15 mile store in Commerce but am so disgusted that every time an item goes on sale they allow party store owners to clean out their shelves. I haven't been able to buy Gatorade zero there my last 3 visits and I get it for an elderly parent who needs it. Time to limit quantities or be be a wholesaler vs a retailer. Man!!! This is going to be the easiest post yet! Pros: The hours! Million things in one place! Cons: I like to get there early in the morning (like 8 am). The fruit is picked over, the workers are rude and make it seem like ur not supposed to be there, they barely want to help you with anything, boxes all over the place, there was open boxes of cereal, candy in the ice cream freezer. Just a all around mess. To top it all of there is always one register open! I want to shop and that's it. I dont work for Meijer! Meijer has always been my preferred grocery store. This location is always clean and organized. I'm always happy with Meijer produce and meats. This location is never too busy. I even have a favorite cashier at this location, which I have never had a favorite cashier until I started shopping at this location. We recently purchased a unicorn cake from the bakery and it was delish. I definitely recommend signing up for mPerks. It's very easy to use and save money. read more

Not sure why I have never reviewed this Meijer before, my parents live right down the street from it. As others have mentioned, the layout is a little older/weird, but I prefer it to my local Royal Oak/Troy one ... the food is to the right, when you walk in, but the frozen foods are in the front after you pass by the produce (in RO, it's all the way at the back). Greeters are always friendly and when I used to frequent this store (the 3 years I lived in Walled Lake, post-college) I never had any issues with it. I came here super early (8am, eesh) on Black Friday to look for their $24 coats, I didn't end up buying one (sizes were a little small + quality was just okay) but I did snag some Corningware for half off, which was nice. read more

FREQUENTLY OUT-OF-STOCK on common items, the spinach and greens are always dripping wet from being sprayed so often, the self checkout machines are a hot mess, with the alternative being to wait 20 minutes in a checkout line. The bottle return area is a disgustingly sticky mess. They are more concerned with stocking the 'center aisle' stuff instead of the staple items like pasta, baking items, etc. Really in need of better management! read more

Don't use their pharmacy! Pharmacists are rude and unhelpful. And don't bother using GoodRx with them. They will overcharge, and not take the time to give you meds at the price in the GoodRx app! Also, I've found their prices are ungodly high! Do yourself a favor and go to Walmart! read more

had to make a stop for some much needed items I knew I could find at Meijer and that I remember were cheaper at Meijer. One item I always need is Dry Cat Food. with 2 4yr old cats they love only one brand - Purina - Healthful Life variety. Anytime I buy anything else my cats simply will ignore the food. The best part is for the time being I can buy a large bag for $7.49 which is the Regular Meijer Price. the same brand & variety at local Pet Supplies Plus is $9.50. It's nice to be able to save $2 on something you always use. Also Meijer sells the Keurig K-Cups I love for use in my Keurig coffee machine. Meijer sells the 12pks for $6.49 vs the same 12pks at Kroger for $8.99. AWESOME SAUCE is all I can say. More Savings! Was able to pick up a few more things I needed to get through the weekend. Meijer brand flour tortillas for making my homemade fajitas tonight. 8pk was only $1.59 vs the Kroger brand of fajita sized tortillas for $1.89. Boom Bang. savings. I like it. read more

This is the Meijer that my wife and I frequent, as it's the closest to our home. It has a large selection of groceries and other items, and its sale prices are usually good. If you're picking someone up or dropping them off, also, you can pull up to the front of the store - I sometimes pick up my wife or daughter there when they're done shopping, which is convenient. The way this Meijer is set up, groceries are on the right-hand side of the store and health items/medicines are on the left side. Their pharmacy is also good, I sometimes pick up my prescriptions there. read more

This is my first time using pick up. Not at all impressed. I entered the order two days ago so they would have plenty of time to fill it. My pick up time was originally between 10 and 11. RIGHT at 10 (when I'm already here) I get a voicemail saying wait for a confirmation email OR wait until 11. I come back at 11. It's not ready. The lady says did you get an email, I said it said to wait til 11 OR wait for email. Not sure how good the communication is between employees. Needless to say, I am really disappointed. The self checkout does not deactivate security tags. The alarm will go off every time, and the employees will ask you to come back. I understand they are just doing their job, it's management that needs to fix their machines. I've seen 3 people before me all set off the alarm and be stopped. The only options are to waste my time and stop, or keep going and feel like an asshole. I won't shop here anymore. read more

Once again another EXTREMELY disappointing shopping experience at the Commerce Meijer. The company spent a great deal of money renovating the facility and apparently spent NO MONEY on customer service training or creating a POSITIVE and PLEASANT store atmosphere. A POSITIVE and PLEASANT store environment starts at the top, and after my experience today the top of this store is CLUELESS about maintaining a high level of customer service, creating a exciting store environment or ensuring the grocery shelves are well stocked. Between Aldi, Buschs and Amazon, I am sure that I will get far superior customer service and have a much better overall shopping experience. read more

Recently found this Meijer for a quick grocery trip. I usually go to the one by my house but this was closer. Was very excited to see how large it was. Everything was nicely organized and there is way more product than my store usually does. I went to check out to find that there are no self check outs for large orders. I find the culture at this store is simply not customer oriented. The check out clerk today was so intent on conversing with his supervisor, he virtually ignored me. He didn't even notice that I was rebagging most of my items because he was putting only a couple items in each bag. I would have ended with twice the plastic required. I hate this Meijer location! I have been going to this Meijer for as long as I can remember and it has always been terrible! I have been to many different locations and have never felt the same as I do when I come to this one. The Meijer in Auburn Hills is amazing, the one in Rochester is great, the one in Brighton is descent, but the one in West Bloomfield is in desperate need of a face lift. The cashiers move slower than shit up hill, they are in no rush and could care less if you have been waiting in line for 25 minutes with a pack of gum and bananas. It doesn't help that they have 30 lanes but only have 1 open. I really wish this location would step it up because it is a huge provider for the community. read more
