Went in for basic oil change and filter in Hershey, PA for my husband on Veterans Day, stated they didn't participate in Vet deal, but since we were already there, we agreed to go ahead with oil change. Paid for oil change and left. Went home following day car was driving rough still. Checked on Buick Enclave and my filter still said Mavis, the last facility that did my oil change. They never changed the filter and charged me for it. All they did was top off the oil. First time experience and will be my last. read more

It was late in the day on a Saturday and they were unable to get the required OEM part to fix properly. However, they were able to Macgyver a temporary fix to get us home. I would have given zero stars for them. I got an inspection there today. The attitude from who looks like the manager or owner was very rude and disrespectful. He wanted to charge me $60 for the inspection. I showed him the coupon I had (attached below), he took a quick glance and said it's $44. Didn't bother asking me for my employee ID. I paid it. After I got home I looked at my coupon, the discount should have included the sticker fee and MCI fee, but he charged me extra for those. I left my car overnight for inspection. I received my car the next morning reeking of cigarette smoke. Not only were they unprofessional enough to ruin my personal property, their solution that was only offered after threatening legal action was to spray my car with canned deodorizer. After driving my car for 20 miles with the windows down then leaving the car air out all day my three year old car still smells like smoke This would be unacceptable merely on the grounds of customer service. I took my car here to this Meineke in Hershey for the annual inspection. Keith the manager told me I had to replace the sway bar. I said no problem. He said everything else was fine. Well, come to find out 1 month later, everything wasn't fine. My brakes were completely shot!!! His mechanics had 4 tires off my vehicle but didn't look at my brakes! I would NEVER take another vehicle to this garage!! As far as Keith, he's just making his quota of the month adding another sway bar to his list. Brakes are a major necessity for a vehicle. I was going to Allentown, PA when my car broke down. It got towed to Meineke in Hershey. The first night I spoke with Sean and he was awesome. They looked at my car on a Saturday morning and basically said there wasn't much they could do as it was probably an engine or ECM replacement and I needed to get it to the dealership. Sean was amazing and told me there was an active campaign for my car model and he would print the paperwork for that and put it in my car for the dealership to see. The customer service that I experienced at this shop was incredible to say the least. The fact they didn't just try to get money from me, but gave me the best advice possible is just mind-blowing to be honest. Sean went over and above for me and my needs and I cannot ever express enough appreciation for that. Even though they didn't end up servicing my car, I would recommend them without hesitation. This is my new go-to place! The new owner, Carl, is awesome! My car is 10 years old and the mileage to show for it, so of course there were things they found that needed work besides what I came in for. I was taken to my car and shown exactly what parts were faulty and why (I didn't even have to ask first, like I have at other places). I sat while Carl called around to multiple places to get the best deals on the parts I needed. Best of all, I drove my car home that day! They offer a rental for those who can't go a day without a car. Getting your car worked on is stressful and almost always costs more than you think, but Carl and his team were very honest about what should be replaced and what could wait to be worked on. I've had one control arm replaced before and the price ended up being cheaper than the first place. Definitely give them a try! read more

Absolutely awful service. Went into have an inspection and pitman arm replaced. They marked up an $35 part to $122 plus $124.84 for labor cost and then wanted to charge me $15 for wiper blades and a $10 labor fee to install the wiper blades. Iv been to multiple mechanics in the past and I must say by far they are the absolute worst they mark up their prices way way way high. Don't go to them trust me. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Keith the manager or WHATEVER he is, is the most rude and disrespectful person I have ever had to deal with in a business. They charged $20 more than they were supposed to for my inspection that didn't even pass and my oil change and he laughed at me when I asked why it was higher than he even quoted me for, plus I had a coupon for a discount. My tire pressure light was also on when I dropped it off (it has gotten cold on and off and my light came on and I knew they would check them so I didn't fill the tire) and it was still on when it was picked up. He also said it would be $1,300 for repairs to pass inspection! Never gave paperwork showing what work was done or the extensive list of what supposedly needed done and again laughed when I called to ask why (my fiance picked my car up not me). He blamed my fiance for why he didn't give us the paperwork but he gave the emissions paper to him showing it passed and then said he left the papers in the printer but it was still my fiance's fault, again laughing. He said it was no big deal. I asked to talk to the manager and he said he was out all week and wouldn't be back until the next week, I said I want him to call me and I have yet to even hear back. I honestly should have listened to the reviews. They are really ripping people off here. And of course, they're not going to do it to everyone, they would be out of business so that's where you're going to get your good and bad reviews. This place of business is the worst at price gauging and bad service that I've ever experienced and that's saying alot more than the avg customer since I come from NYC! I tried their service 3 or 4 times too! Each time I was way over-charged. The first two times avg charge for repairs was $700 after the second visit, my vehicle began making noises that indicated repair was not completely done, so I took the car to a different mechanic and got repair done correctly at fraction of the cost so I started to go to that mechanic regularly. But recently, I wasn't feeling up to the 45 minute drive to the other mechanic and it had been at least 2 years since my last visit...so I thought it's just a state inspection, my car was running fine so it should pass easily...well I took a chance that maybe mgmt had changed since my last visit and found that I was VERY WRONG once again! This time they tried to charge me $1,500. to get a state inspection done on a perfectly good running vehicle! Well, enough is enough! I should have known better, but I tried to give the benefit of the doubt because I bought into the trusted name of the business. Liars and cheats to say the least. I brought my s40 in to get my break flushed as I had spilled break fluid out my right rear caliper. How you might ask. I pulled the piston to inspect it. With that in mind and no break fluid on hand to refill that particular caliper, I decided I'd drive to meineke out of sheer convenience and simplicity of the service. My original choice was another company but I was short on time. On arrival I tell the service tech what I need done, from the start she says something must be wrong for my breaks to feel spongy... I go ahead say nothing, just repeating that I need the breaks flushed. She introduces me to the mechanic at this point. He takes the vehicle puts it into service position etc. Within minutes comes out and says. "Yeah you're going to need your master cylinder replaced in order to get this flushed because it won't pump." At this point I tell him that I spilled break fluid from the rear caliper after opening it. Caught in his lie, the mechanic changes the subject and tried something different. He goes away again and after another couple minutes says my rear calipers seized and I'd need to replace both of them. I'm laughing at this point because this guy is lying in depth about why he can't flush it and claiming he did or attempted. After their shenanigans I'm billed for an attempted break flush and labor. She still tries to recommend the $600 caliper change out. I was flat out disgusted by the dishonesty, but even further appalled because they wasted my time. I drove to company B, the one I intended to, explained the issue and was out the door with the fluid added and flushed. Interestingly enough there's a yelp review of a similar experience: recommended 800 dollar repair, took elsewhere and done for $200. I should've trusted that. read more

I got my truck inspected here a few months ago. Customer Service was friendly and they accomadated me close to closing time for my state inspection. When I returned in a few hours, my vehicle had failed the PA safety inspection but passed emmisions. The reasons that they said that my truck failed inspection were as follows: Rear tires too worn (True) Front Brake lines too worn (Argueable) A whole in the Front Left floor panel (As far as I have been able to find this whole does not exist) Missing or damaged Front Left Body Bolt (Again, I see nothing wrong with the body mounts) 3rd Brake Light out (My truck is not equipped with a third brake light) License Plate lamp out (I fixed it myself for $3) Obviously they didn't know what they were talking about with some of the things they listed. I asked if they could give me an estimate for the work and they said they would call me with one. Guess who never got a call back?? Me. My truck needs some work for inspection every year (it's 21 years old after all) but this is just an example of either technical ignorance or trying to drive up the price by charging to fix things that don't exist or aren't a problem. I fixed everything on this list that I could find was actually wrong with it. Took my truck to Pep Boys, and passed inspection. Got my tires at CJ's btw. They have a military discount, good prices, and they mount and balance tires that you buy there for free. All in all a bad experience with Meineke. read more

Avoid this shop! Went to this shop to have them install a new muffler I purchased and to fabricate (bend) a new tailpipe for my truck. Spoke with Keith who told me, after looking at my truck, that $250(cash so there is no record or sales tax) is where he's at. I agreed. It was discussed that the new muffler would be welded in place as I had preferred, he assured me that "his exhaust guy" has years of welding experience and would not be a problem. Mind you, I called back to confirm that they are capable of welding. and I was assured by Keith that his guy well get it done right. Fast forward to the day of the job, the truck was already delayed going in, no big deal. I'm told late in the day when I called for status that he grossly under billed me, and that he should actually have charged me $400 for such work. Again, I was looking for a simple weld job and pipe bend for tailpipe, aprrox. 3' long. Long story short, job is completed, and I go to pickup truck after shop is closed. Talipipe is bent and installed (you can tell where they missed a cut, jagged edge on the tailpipe) and low and behold, muffle clamps were used and no welding was actually performed. Today I went to speak with Keith about this, and his response was, and I quote: "This is how he does exhaust (meaning his "guy"), what do you want me to tell you... **chuckle** He got the job done, **shrug** what do you want me to tell you..." I explained that the entire reason I went to them is BECAUSE i wanted it welded in place. Again , Keith simply said " what can i tell ya...." I just turned around and left. OH - and by the way, my truck was also getting inspected there, but failed do to a blown shock in the rear that I'm not yet sure exists, a "broken" wiper which was installed by me less than 2 months ago, and they're fine, and lastly "heat stress cracks" on the rear brake shoes, which I'm not sure I believe either, I will look into that. So if you're looking for overpriced work at an amateur shop, Meineke in Hershey is the place for you. read more

Open 6 days a week. The Car Care Center is Quick and dependable. Meineke product, however, gets a disappointing 1 star. The new Meineke rotors I had put on 2 years ago lasted only 40,000. That's a poor product! They get warranteed for only one year. For as much as rotors cost, the warranty and the product should be better! Taught me to stick with genuine Honda products. If I had gotten more than an oil change, and this wasn't my first time at this location, I would've given them 5 stars just for customer service and atmosphere. I don't understand why all of these comments are saying that this is a horrible place. I went here last weekend to get a standard oil change and while they did tell me I needed a new oil plug (I already knew this, I change my oil myself usually but the bolt was rounded off so I had to take it to someone to be drilled out, only cost about $6) my oil change was right at the price they told me it would be originally. Around $24 or so. The front guy, I believe his name was Keith, was very nice & personable. I would definitely go back here and I plan on it since I have to get my oil changed about every 2 months with how much I have to drive. Don't believe all of the "bot posts" that are out there from other companies trying to steer away business from competitors. Sometimes you have to suck it up and just go see for yourself. read more

I ordered tires from Tire Rack on line and then unfortunately selected this store to install the tires. I selected them for their low price and location. When they called me they quoted me almost four times the original costs listed on their site with Tire Rack. It was unbelievable. They would not back down or honor their posted prices. I contacted Tire Rack and they had the same issues with them. In fact Tire Rack said they were basically rude about the entire situation. The person at Tire Rack is going to management to have them pulled from their options of installers. I now have an appointment tomorrow at Pep Boys for less than a third of this rip off stores prices including the alignment. I would never go here nor recommend anyone else go here. Go someplace else. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I took my car there for inspection and they failed it on something I knew should be fine, because I had just had my car in the shop. I took it to a more reputable state inspection shop a few days later and got it reinspected. it passed with no problem, and I had not told them what Meineke failed on the car. I went back to Meineke and complained. The manager was very condescending, telling me there was no way I would get my money back, or be successful reporting them to the state. He told me my car was only passed by the other shop to appease me (keep in mind, I did NOT tell the other shop what Meineke had failed my car on). They were very unprofessional from the start, with the manager sitting in the client waiting area and laughing at an article on facebook about 3000 year old condoms and making ridiculous comments to me about it. I will never have any work done here again, and I have reported them to the state. Save your money and go somewhere that will not create an issue on your car just to get a sale. read more

Since my car is only valued at about twice that, I thought it would be a good idea to take it somewhere else(just for a second opinion). Was given a quote when my car was taken in for inspection. This quote was for a repair to the right front axel which was not honored once the work had been completed. A quote for $250 is not the same as paying $600. The employees had "no" record of the quote given to me during my car inspection. If I had a choice to get credit at the meinike store I had this work done at I would rather pay full price elsewhere in fear they might simply say I have no credit at their location. Overall dishonest and lousy experience. I've always taken my cars to private mechanics and this was my first venture away from what I was comfortable from. Definitely will never go to a meinike again. The customer service I did receive was an employee offering to talk about what had happened in person, he asked me to come to the store around the time they close to "figure" things out. I arrived at the store only to find all the lights off and nobody inside the building, not only did I get my hopes up that there might be a solution but the employee took off to leave me at an empty store. Hopefully this helps you decide where to take your car next time something goes wrong because I wouldn't wish this on anybody looking for car help. read more

I would not have a pair of roller skated repaired at Meineke, especially the one located in Hershey! I gave it 1 star because I couldn't give it the zero it deserves! Let me be succinct and explain the TERRIBLE experience I recently received. On the 5th of December I took my van in to have front brakes installed. I had brake work done in the past by another Meineke so I assumed they pulled all the wheels. On Christmas night after returning to Lebanon from Philadelphia I noticed a humming sound coming from the rear of my van. When I exited the Turnpike and stopped at a traffic light I heard a loud BANG! The next thing I saw much to my extreme surprise was my left rear wheel rolling down Quinton Rd. I called for roadside service and had m vehicle towed to Ebersole. I left a message at Meineke and on Monday the manager called. He asked me to find out what the damage was to my car, but then the conversation turned sour. When I asked him did he pull ALL the wheels to check the entire system instead of saying either yes, or no he said, and I quote: "Well, I don't really remember what we did to your van." How can a company have managers and mechanics doing brake work and NOT KNOW the QUANTITY of their work? I called another Meineke to inquire if the wheels are pulled routinely and I was told, "Absolutely!" The manager at Hershey then went on to tell me that He doesn't "THINK" the mechanic pulled the rear wheels because the rims of my van would allow him to see if my brakes are alright WITHOUT actual hands on inspection. He went on to ask me to call him once I found out what damage was done to my van. Meanwhile Ebersole's service department kept asking me if I had recent brake work done on the rear of my van. I lodged a customer complaint with Meinek's Customer Service and I was told to talk to the manager at Hershey to try to resolve the situation. During the ensuing conversation the manager at Hershey used an ANNOYED, ACCUSATORY tone with me. He said I should have had called him and he WOULD NOT come to Ebersole and inspect my vehicle. He then told me and I quote: "If you had it towed to Ebersole then you can have it towed to me!" He expected me to put out another couple of hundred dollars in towing fees to have my van towed nearly twenty miles? He said he would NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY for anything because did not bring my van to him first. How in all good common-sense was I expected to remember to have my van towed by Triple-A all the way from Cornwall to Hershey at 10:30 pm on Christmas night? When I spoke to customer service again they told me that the manager said he was not there the day I brought my vehicle in and that was NOT TRUE because I saw him! Customer service basically gave me nothing but APOLOGETIC PLATITUEDS and told me there was NOTHING they could do. So let me get this right! I take my car to Meineke for brake work. Twenty days later my left rear wheel comes off! The manager cannot remember "exactly what" they did to my van. Customer Service is "SORRY" we almost had a tragic very possibly FATAL wreck! In conclusion IF you want to RISK taking your vehicle to Meineke for brake work YOU MAY be putting YOUR LIFE in your hands. If you want to have a Meinek manager and mechanic tell you they don't remember WHAT CAPACITY of brake work they did to your vehicle then choose Meineke. If you want to have a manager complain that you called customer service and filled out an online report against them then choose Meineke. If you want to receive a bunch of "Oh, I'm so sorry!" and NOTHING else then DEFINATELY choose Meineke! IF however, you want to ensure that your vehicle is worked on by mechanics that REMEMBER the QUALITY of the work the do then I HIGHLY SUGGEST you go ELSEWHERE! read more

Awful car repair shop! DON'T GO! Went to get my car inspected and oil changed and ended up costing $127! Charged me for the 19.99 advertised for the and then an additional $15 for 'Parts/supplies' such as dirty rags and towels. My emissions did not pass but the shop continued to do my safety check without asking me(I was at the shop the entire time) and charged me for both. The emissions did not pass because I had a engine safety light on and they charged me $30 to read the codes. They told me that I had to get my oxygen sensor replaced, the part costing a whopping $238(which I did not agree to). When I took my car to another shop to check the issue, the shop(the trusted one I go to back home) told me that it was not my oxygen sensor at all but was the thermostat for the car engine popped out. I told Meineke what happened, and they refused to give me even a partial refund, even though they admitted that their computer was at fault. AWFUL service AWFUL people, a bunch of liars! read more
