I pitched a project via Yelp to install cooling and replace the furnace to all of the most highly rated companies in the area. All of them recommended a heat pump as opposed to traditional AC. Better Air NW's proposal was not only the least expensive by a fair margin, but also offered the highest quality machines and best warranties. Normally, I'd be pretty skeptical at that combination, but all of the positive reviews on Yelp convinced me to accept their offer. A few days later, as I write this I'm basking in the warmth of my new heater. The installation was smooth, painless, and well done. Despite some unexpected challenges in the home's design to figure out and overcome, they charged exactly their estimate; there were none of the kind of headaches or scams that one often expects dealing with contractors. All in all, great experience, these folks deserve their lofty reputation.

Better Air NW was the only one who didn't give us pricing or a plan and the only one we had a negative experience with. During our in-person consultation, Jered focused on our HOA almost the entire time. Our HOA does have requirements in this area that we don't think are enforceable anymore, and in any case, that's our issue to sort out once a proposal is in place. We reassured Jered we would handle the HOA ourselves and wanted him to treat it like any other job: propose whatever setup his experience would call for and walk us through a plan and pricing. He kept coming back to the HOA anyway, and we struggled to get him to focus on the plan instead. He even told us one of the rooms was "impossible," and when we asked why, the answer was the HOA. It really felt like we were grasping at straws here. By the end of the consultation, our time had been wasted and we still didn't have any pricing or a plan. Later, he texted us that they couldn't do the job, without giving a reason. Since we never got one, we were left to guess: to us, the constant focus on the HOA came across as an easy way to pass on a job they didn't want to take on. No other contractor had trouble coming up with a proposal and pricing. Either way, our suggestion to Better Air NW is to be upfront.

One of the major project he did for me is to replace both my air ventilation in both my bathroom fan. They both had given up and it's just flat out old so it was time to upgrade. He did a fantastic job on those 2 units. I also got him to redo my bathroom tub caulking . The previous guys claim over 9 years of lifetime, it was less than 10 months. So don't buy into those who offer these crazy lifetime on your bathroom caulking. TK did my tub caulking and told me the truth, "maybe a year " he said which is exactly what I got from the previous people that claimed 9 years ‍. I'm already looking at a few new smaller projects for him to get started soon. I just want to pile it up so I can take up an entire day. I will be using TK soon!

We had them come out to just clean our dryer vent. They were here for 15 minutes total, never went…read moreinside to actually push the lint out of the vent. They only did the outside and when I asked him about going inside he said that is appliance issue. My husband ended up purchasing brushes on Amazon and cleaned the vent out from inside, which in turn made him have to clean it out from the outside again. Not to mention all the lint that it pushed through on the roof again. Very frustrating. I actually took a picture and emailed it to them with all the lint that was taken out but never got a response.

Apparently the generator hookup in our electrical panel wasn't connected. He came out Saturday to take a look, unprepared to fix the matter. He said he would be back Sunday around noon to fix the problem. At 2 I sent him a text since he hadn't shown up or contacted me; a little after 3 he responded that he wasn't coming and that if we did want the matter fixed there would be an additional $200 charge since he believes that it wasn't his error. After this post here (prior to revision), and a similar post on his FB page (which will never be seen by anyone) he came out today with the builder and fixed the problem to our satisfaction.

Purchased a home with a furnace that was serviced in February 2025 by this company. The log…read moreindicated that they did a furnace check up, hypervac service and air duct cleaning. I went to check the air filter to see what kind of filter I needed to purchase in the future. Imagine my surprise when I saw this filter just floating in the filter frame. There was plenty of gap for air to just go around the filter and straight into the blower. It makes me reluctant to use this company in the future, especially when they say on their website that they have a philosophy of attention to detail!
