So decided to try this place in Chinatown. Stopped in to get some to go donuts. The shop was clean and there were lots of younger adults in enjoying. We asked for a vAnilla donut, chocolate donut and a chocolate chip cookie to go. Cookie was okay but not the best we've had $3 Vanilla donut was very fresh and really delightful. The vanilla inside was tasty and quite light which was great but the chocolate donut turneD out to be a peanut butter and jelly wHich wasn't what we asked for. I never understood why donuts were a thing. I never enjoyed them growing up so I wasn't particularly interested when I heard there was a donut shop in my area. My sister wanted to try it though and thank God she did or it would've taken me a lot longer to step in to this shop. From the first moment I saw the case full of beautifully made donuts to the very first bite into the fluffy donut, I was hooked. I've tried many of their flavours and their best selling Strawberries and Cream version is also my favourite (but they're all very good). Their donuts are made fresh constantly throughout the day, and they often sell out. Yes, it can be disappointing when you walk in and see an empty case (or nearly empty case), but they do work as hard as they can to restock often (I never have to wait too long), and they do offer pre-orders if you want to be sure to get a certain flavour. The staff are also super sweet and helpful. They're always smiling and while I'm always going back for the dessert itself, I'm more than happy to support their shop because of the people who are working there. It's a little funny but (as a side note) these donuts remind me of my mother. Whenever I went to Korea with her, she would buy me a traditional Korean twisted donut and tell me they were her favourite when she was a student. While those are good, these are an upgrade, and I'm happy to have the familiarity of my mother's childhood through Mello's version. read more

Finally had the chance to head over to mello donuts and it's been so long since they opened! Let's just say when my cheat day arrives you can bet it's on my list to go to again! * 3X lemon curd brioche donuts ($3.75/EA) ~ this is my favourite one out of the bunch we tried. The lemon curd was very thick and filling, perfect consistency and not too sour. A nice balance contrast between the sour and sweetness of the donut! This is 100% a must try donut! * Tiramisu special brioche donut ($4.75) ~ this is very nice mixture between sweet and bitter. The coffee powder on top is strong and personally despite me being a fan of coffee isn't too big on tiramisu! It was creamy and rich. * Dark chocolate pudding brioche donut ($3.75) ~ this wasn't too special in my opinion. It was good and chocolate but I'm not sure why the pudding part wasn't what I expected. Just seemed like a chocolate filled donut. * Also photographed: matcha special brioche donut ($4.75). * cereal coohie ($3) ~ no I didn't spell it wrong that's how it's spelled on the menu! The cookie was very crunchy and delicious. The crunch was so good because of the added cereal on top of the cookie! Perfect alternative if you can't have the brioche donuts. * 8/10 ~ the Brioche donuts were soft and so good. You have to eat it ASAP when you get it or the same day or else it's not the same the following day! Lemon curd is the best! * 5/10 ~ they aren't cheap, but it's also not your average donuts. Tried the Cereal Milk ($4.75) and Strawberry Cream ($4.75) donuts and they were both pillowy. The cereal one had a nice crunch and was dusted with powdered sugar but not really sweet at all. The strawberry one was sweeter, filled with whipped cream (and strawberries) and coated with sugar. We originally preordered the Cinnamon Cream Cheese donut (October special; $3.95) but we came an hour earlier and it wasn't ready so we swapped it for strawberry. Service was 10/10 because they didn't charge us the price difference (strawberry one is more expensive than the cinnamon)! Although I would say the donuts are on the pricier end. read more

These really are the best donuts of all time, for those of us in the "not too sweet" dessert camp. The brioche donuts are soft and light as air, and the creamy fillings are so well-balanced and delightful. I love the cereal milk (tastes great, and the texture contrast between the crunchy cornflake exterior, fluffy donut and cream centre is incredible), lemon curd, tiramisu (a good choice if you're looking for a strong flavour), and my all-time fave, strawberries and cream (literally whipped cream with fresh strawberry slices). Everything bagel was also a pleasant surprise - almost savory, but a little sweet. The shop is tiny, yellow and cute, and the service has always been good - the servers are pleasant and fast, but none of them appear to have much English, so won't be able to answer too many questions. I'm obsessed with these donuts, they are so fluffy and have just the right amount of filling inside without being too sweet. I've tried all the flavours and my top are matcha, vanilla, lotus (cookie butter), salted caramel and Nutella. The filling in the tiramisu is too bitter and the strawberry is just plain whipped cream. The peanut butter they use in pb&jam tasted off, I prefer lucky's. I've gone there 3 times within the last month and I haven't had a problem with them running out of flavours, but I go during a weekday. All hype for this place. The tiramisu was okay but not the greatest (keeping in mind you don't really find that flavour often), my daughter loves caramel and the caramel didn't have much of a caramel flavour at all and it was more on the bitter side. The lemon is what caught us by surprise because it had a fishy taste and we ended up just throwing it away because it wasn't anywhere close to tasting like a lemon. 7 donuts for over $30.... Not worth it at all. Lee's donuts isn't too far from this place so as a personal preference I would rather spend my money at Lee's just because your donuts will taste like the flavour you paid and asked for. read more

Just a heads up: this is a cashless cafe and they don't accept AMEX. Decor is very sparse and highly minimalistic, but I really enjoyed their beige tones and round theme. However, I think they could've used up their wall space better because it feels quite plain. I got their mocha and mini Nutella donut for about $7 CAD. The drink wasn't super sweet but I could taste the caffeine and felt it paired nicely with the donut. The donut itself was a little too over filled with Nutella and, as a result, I felt the ratio of donut to chocolate was too skewed to the chocolate. I ended up not finishing it because the Nutella overpowered the actual sugar donut, despite the "mini" size. Overall, the pricing is much cheaper than I had anticipated for my visit but I believe that they could adjust their fill percentage of their donuts better. Since the pandemic I think I gained my weight from eating these donuts. It's a cake type donut filled with delicious lemon curd, matcha cream, tiramisu, chocolate, vanilla whipped cream, etc. They have occasional limited feature flavours so keep an eye on their social media site. The filling is not too sweet and very fresh with real dairy and not the packaged powdered stuff you get at the chain bakeries. Their cheesecake is also so delicious and I'm not a cheesecake person. It was light, creamy, not too sweet and rich. They have soft serve ice cream with rotating flavors like matcha, Hojicha, etc. I'm quite sure this is the same soft serve ice cream that use to be near Gastown that I loved! They usually sell out but they try to refill their display as fast as possible. You can reorder online. I go during off peak time, around 2pm, and they seem to have all the flavours available. Well let's start with the donuts. They are some of the best donuts I've ever had. They are so soft and the different flavors are so unique...my favourite was raspberry cream. It was so fluffy and rhe filling was so light and sweet. They are steep in price...approx $4 per donut. I ended up spending $48! I am definitely going back to try lemon (someone else ate that flavor lol) and something new! I definitely say check it out. Everyone is talking about these donuts. The service is great. I came back the 2nd time to try their softserve and it was also pretty well done. It was milk flavoured and you can tell it was good quality softserve. These donuts are so delicious! They're light, airy and fluffy, and aren't overly sweet. We saw them on Instagram and wanted to check them out. We heard people recommending that we preorder and we're so glad we did. If you go there without preordering, there's a good chance everything will be sold out or that there will only be a slim selection of donuts. You just need to email them 24 hours in advance letting them know the donuts you want and they'll have them ready. They have great customer service as well and are really nice. We tried the vanilla, dark chocolate pudding, lemon curd ($3.75 each), strawberries and cream, and tiramisu donuts (the last two are specialty donuts and are $4.75). A very disturbing thing happened today. I pre-order my donuts as I usually do. I went to pick up, 5 minutes later they called and said they gave me the wrong order. I pulled over and looked at the order. Please note I tested positive for Covid a few weeks prior. I went back with the order I picked up. I assumed they would just let me keep the wrong order and add the 2 donuts that were missing. I mentioned this to the lady at the front desk. Instead she took the box with the wrong order and gave me my correct order. I pray for your customers you did not re-sell those donuts that I opened and breath on. We all know the correct thing to do in this situation and the person at the front desk should be fired, for lack of common sense. Finally made it to this lil coffee/ doughnut joint. Beautiful presentation of the food. Took my lil guy here to enjoy some baked goods as he was still hungry after his lunch. Cute lil place, didn't have a chance to try the coffee but tried three of their doughnuts. Tiramisu, Strawberry with mascarpone whip, and vanilla bean. My partner loved the doughnuts as she mentioned it was very fluffy for her. It's a good doughnut but for myself I like the full grease kind of doughnuts with that crunch. These donuts reminded me of as if you were eating a Chinese bun, coated in sugar and crossed with donut filling. Housemade doughnuts and Agro coffee make for my new favourite coffee shop in Chinatown. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the filling is not too sweet. They also have a Gorgonzola financier for those who don't feel like a cookie or doughnut, which has a savoury aroma that pats your nose sweetly. Their matcha latte is not overly sugary as well, though I had it with oat milk. I like the bright and simple interior, which makes for a great place to catch up with a friend, or work on something quietly on a laptop. Looking forward to try their ice cream. read more
