I'm torn on this one: they have an amazing selection of beer, they have fun specials and activities like Trivia on Sundays, bottomless Mimosas, endless flights, but there are quite a few cons too. Parking here can be a nightmare if there's anything going on next door at Greater Nevada Field. Our food really left a lot to be desired, I ordered the biscuits and gravy and was not impressed. The trivia while fun, drug on for over 2.5 hours which was just too much, both for those playing and those just trying to eat/visit. I think the service is mediocre regardless of how busy they are or are not. I'll probably come back here but just for a beer before or after a game or for one of their special events like beer and cheesecake pairing but not on a regular basis. read more

First time here, LAST time here. Tried this place this evening only because I had heard of it from an acquaintance. Unfortunately, the recommendation was a bust. First, I must say that despite what follows regarding the food, the bartender and server, Emily, was outstanding, and her cheery attitude, helpfulness, and understanding made up for the food. As for the food, I started by ordering "Jalapeno" Polenta "Poppers". When they arrived, they looked NOTHING like jalapeno poppers. First off, there's no 'pop' to these poppers as there's barely any cheese in them, worse though, there's NO jalapeno either! I asked Emily about them and she said that they're supposed to be a cheese-stuffed jalapeno wrapped in polenta. I looked again but didn't see the jalapeno, yet I kept eating them one-by-one. As I ate a few more though, I simply couldn't stand the gaslighting and asked Emily again about them, this time showing her a cross section of the "jalapeno" "popper"; NO chili whatsoever was discernible. She took the plate back to the kitchen to inquire at which time the back of the house said that "the recipe had changed"; now, supposedly, they're minced and mixed in the with polenta. There's a couple problems with that claim though: first, there is absolutely zero, zilch, nada flavor of jalapeno to them; second, there is no perceptible "minced" jalapeno of any size in the polenta. This item is a shame for any honest cook to serve and a disgrace to whoever concocted the recipe. As for the chicken strips plate that came, the breading is decent, light, and not oily, but there were only 4 strips and they are THIN. Not a good value, especially billed as an entree when really the portion size--count and volume--is more befitting of an appetizer. On the whole, thanks to Emily's solid service, she salvaged the experience, and I probably would have left a harsher review, so she's a real asset and fixer, but the place is a hard pass from me. Wow the lemon fried chicken sliders are amazing. The crab mushrooms are good, the steak salad was flavorful and the carne asada fries had a lot of good stuff on them but imo they needed double the cheese sauce! The French onion soup is as good as you'd expect- salty and not too oniony. Btw we ordered over two nights staying at the nearby hotel. Great service and very interesting beer selection. I took mine to go bcz of the pandemic and everything but they have a lot of space and airflow in their restaurant which looks as safe as possible. Very cool place. read more

We used to come into Mellow Fellow pretty often, since our friend was the bartender, but we never really ate. But we were looking for somewhere to get some food and this came up as a nearby location. The location isn't great, there isn't really any nearby parking without having to walk through the undesirable neighborhood it's placed in. But once you're inside, it's pretty easy to forget about the location. The bar is warm and open and I felt comfortable. The bartender was our waiter and he was nice and attentive. We chose some food and it came out pretty quickly. We ordered the buffalo wings, really good house made sauce, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, garnished with green onions, which was a nice tough. Their house made ranch is very creamy and seasoned perfectly. I also ordered the special of the day, a pork belly banh mi. While it could have used some improvements, (different bread and the pork belly could have been cooked a little longer) it had a good flavor and the tots I ordered with it were so crispy and delicious. The kitchen manager came out and checked on how our meal was and we talked a bit about the improvements I thought the sandwich could have. He was really open to suggestions and I appreciated how he handled the critique. I went to Mellow Fellow for a special cheesecake and pumpkin beer event so I will start by saying I am rating that. My friend and I enjoyed outdoor seating by the fire which was glorious and although others were on patio it felt secluded. The waitress brought our stuff outside and even checked on us, therefore I thought the service was great and they were super busy. We have a 5 day old newborn and staying in a hotel across the street. I called ahead to order and walk over. The first call a girl answered and said the menu wasn't right so they had a limited menu. Understandable. I called back so we could decide what we wanted after I had to go to Instagram to find the menu which was difficult in itself. So I ordered French onion soup, avocado fries and Mac and cheese balls. The French onion soup really was delicious but none of them had the gooey thick cheese on top. No cheese at all. We had been craving cheesy french onion soup all day. The avocado fries were ok but more of like just fried avacado chunks, not fries. The macaroni and cheese balls were supposed to have mac and cheese with a house made cheese sauce, jalapeño, bacon, and chili drizzle. Theybwere dry, greasy, and not cheesy. It was disappointing none the less since we really loved the soup but french onion soup without cheese is depressing. I called back up to let them know we didn't get cheese and he said they changed the menu and it might not have cheese. then apologized which was fine but than said they just forget stuff often. Which was wierd for a worker. The food is good but the service lacked when I got in and the cheese was so missing for the percext soup. read more

I really enjoy grilled cheese, and I also really enjoy beer. It was not crowded at the time we showed up, not to mention a Thursday morning. The bartender was super kind, recommended a ton of thrift stores in the local area that we should visit. She was definitely happy with talking to us two randoms for as long as she did. I was a fan of the grilled cheese. My gal pal ordered the chili. It wasn't great, but it definitely was better than not eating! The bathrooms were very clean as well. I love the food here and the last few things they have been great all around. Just yesterday though, I went in around 6 pm and there were just a few patrons in the establishment. I sat myself at the bar and the bartender presented me with a menu. He was nice, presented me with a taste of one a beer and eventually took my order. Everything was fine until I saw how they poured my beer. It was the last bit of beer in the keg so it kept sputtering foam. The glass was only half full. Then the owner, I presumed, use a pitcher to squeeze every last drop out of that keg which was just a mess of foam, and then proceeded to pour that into my half full glass. Did a wipe with hands on the side of the glass and handed it to me like it was perfectly normal. I will not say I know the first thing about bartending but that doesn't look right. AND to top it off the beer tasted bad and I had one sip. Not ONCE did the bartender ask about why I had a full glass of beer there or offer to exchange it for me. When I asked if it was a DIPA hazy, cause that's what I asked for, the owner responded some BS to the bartender. If you like craft beer this is a good place to go...we stopped in with a group for dinner and drinks and the service was less than spectacular. I asked for a Drakes Amber (twice) and was poured a Drakes 1500 instead...figured no big deal but the 1500 is very hoppy and wasn't my favorite. Our group ordered a bunch of apps and then most ordered dinner...one of our group showed up a bit late and although we asked for a menu they never brought it. The waiter just asked if he wanted to order?? Service was slow and it seemed they were struggling to get food out. I enjoyed the fish and chips with lightly breaded trout and a good serving of fries and cole slaw. It was plenty for a hearty fellow like me. The remoulade sauce was tasty and the trout provided a unique flavor as usually this is a cod fish or other bland white fish. Decided to give Mellow Fellow a try and it was nice and mellow on a Friday mid afternoon. First off , the beer menu is giant and has something for everyone. The menu includes lots of comfort food items and we opted for the Mac and cheese bowl and Hummus plate . The mac and cheese bowl was enough for two and came topped with pork and pesto. It was incredible....never having mac and cheese without pesto again !! The hummus plate was very well presented with nice fresh veggies , just lacked enough Hummus. The bartender / waiter was super attentive, friendly and helpful. Definitely don't see it as a place for family meals but a great place for adults and a really cool place to visit before or after Aces Baseball games (it's right across the street from the Aces stadium $. I thought I finally check this place out since I live close by. There's an Aces game tonite but not crowded at all. I got an Coronado Blue Bridge coffee stout with a pretzel. A single guy supper meal. The atmosphere is a little low because no one is here yet but good selection of craftbeers on tap and they have a selection of bottles. The menu looks good if u want chicken. I'm going to try the dirty fries with my coffee stout. I recommend this place if you love craftbeer! read more

Service: Its Sunday lunch time, there was 2 other customers besides us. Service was a little slow, waiter for a food for awhile. Our server was nice though. Food: Disappointing that they dont serve brunch menu anymore. I saw chicken and waffles on yelp, tried to order it and server said menu was no longer available. Ordered tri-tip sandwich instead, and was very pleased. Good serving size, sandwich was delicious and fries were good too. Parking: Dont even think about coming here just to eat if theres an ACES game going on. Parking is $10.00. We had to pay parking to eat how inconsiderate! We cant even back out because there was literally no space to back out once you get into their parking garage especially when there's another car behind you! Now I've been here three or four times so an update is due. Chef Jolly came in a couple of months ago and has changed the menu some and changed the recipes up. I seriously want to try the fried chicken. But I have tried the massive grilled cheese, it is delicious- thick wheat bread with three kinds of gooey cheesy goodness. Still not a fan of the French fries yet, but I hear they may change soon. I highly recommend the black bean aioli to dip the fries in, it rather addictive. Tonight I checked out the Dueling Beer Dinner - Brewer's Cabinet vs New Belgium. Only 24 seats were available at $35 each. I'm seriously glad you could buy the ticket there and not online for an additional fee. There were 5 courses of food with 2 beers paired with each, one from each brewery. We got to vote on the best paired beer after each course. In the end New Belgium took four of the five courses. Me not being a big beer lover I thought this was a great way to learn and sample some unique beers for our area. We started with the most creamy smooth buttery popcorn grits topped with queso fresco and radish microgreens. Wow. Paired with a sour or gose, I liked the NB Tartastic for this. Next was a Tlayuda- Oaxacan style tostada topped with a Mediterranean spiced refried bean and egg poached in a tomato sauce and paired with lager. An Escabeche Trio- snapper ceviche, fried branzino, and "canned" musselswere next. The ceviche had a nice firm texture and great flavor. I was surprised to learn that this dish is a staple in any ocean side village in Latin America. The three preparations were the ceviche Snapper, a crispy fatty piece of Branzino and Mussels that were prepared by Sous vide. All three were absolutely delicious and perfect in their own texture. Tamale Colados was the main course. Another unbelievably creamy corn preparation that just made your eyes roll, served with a very intense smoked pork. This was paired with an IPA. And don't forget about dessert. Churro S'mores - crispy fried sugary churros nestled in sinful marshmallow fluff, warm chocolate ganache, and an incredible bit of heaven- caramelized dolce de leche. This was the one pairing my table was at odds with- both beers were good, but once you ate the churro they became bitter. The beers were good with the toppings, but there was just something about the frying and the reaction with the beer. The best choice presented was BC's Barrel aged Wookiee. Again I admit I'm no beer connoisseur. And if you aren't either I strongly recommend you go in to Mellow Fellow and ask for Ryan. He'll take 10 minutes and ask you a bunch of questions, then for me he brought out 5 beer samples. I was shocked! I enjoyed the very first pick- a sour gose from Brewer's Cabinet. The rest got darker and hoppier. But after some time with him I have a better idea of why I don't like certain beers. I shall be back to learn more and eat more. read more

The service was great, great atmosphere, and good location. My complaint is with the food. We ordered appetizers and all were good except the cheese curds. When the bartender dropped them off, he quickly put them on the table and walked away, but watched from a distance. He obviously knew these were not okay, but dropped them off anyways. They were all clumped together into one large pile of melted cheese and oil. My husband and I just laughed because it was so ridiculous that they would serve this. We brought it to the attention of the bartender and he agreed that it was a mess and took it off the bill. Great place to come before an Aces game for drinks and such, but we probably won't be coming back. read more

We ate dinner and had drinks here Saturday night before heading to a concert. The food was delicious, I had the fried chicken plate. Seriously amazing fried chicken. The fries were also awesome - interesting shape. Beers were good - very wide selection. My husband's first beer was gross but our server happily replaced it. He had the mac and cheese. I wasn't a huge fan. The tater tots he got as a side were amazing though. Whoever is in charge of the fryer really knows their job . The rest of the food our friends ordered looked good. Deschutes came with one of their new beers, Pinedrops IPA. Atmosphere - This was Silver Peaks' Slice and not much has change. Okay probably the only big change is the number of taps. Food Drinks - Clearly I am here for the beer and Deschutes Pinedrops was excellent. I also had the Red Chair NWPA on Nitro. It was so thick with the nitro. My Main Course - The pretzel was solid. But the winner of the night was the Pork Pop. The meat is Frenched, to create a handle with meat at one end of the bone. So yummy! The menu had two choices for sauce, but when I ordered they gave me three. I had the Kona honey bbq sauce, not very strong and went well with pork. Service - I order my beer had a few sips and realized my phone was in my car and had to get it. Stupid Stupid Stupid. So I had to go back and get it. I asked the bartender and explained the problem, she held and as so as I got back she delivered it to me. Awesome service. Future - We will be back. read more

Came in for lunch on a chilly Sunday. It wasn't too busy and the guys behind the bar were super attentive. So many great beers to try. I ended up with the Burgkopf Grapefruit. Great sweet beer. We got the classic poutine for the table. It was so good! Their French fries are SOOOOO GOOD. I got the French Onion Dip and my boyfriend got the Corned Beef Rueben. We both loved our food. Mind blowing selection of beers! We had a super attentive bar tender that allowed us to sample several before we made our selections. It was Saturday early afternoon of zombie crawl so it was starting to get busy. We still had time to grab a couple light snacks before the hordes arrived. We had the Mac and cheese which they we kind enough to top with pulled pork in a homage to the amazing piggy Mac I had at rib cook off. It was good, but just slightly over cooked. We also shared the pizza pretzel, pretty good. The draw for me is the beer selection. They have everything imaginable to fit anyone's palette including fun stuff like chili infused which seems to be my new obsession! read more

We went there last night and had such an amazing time! The bartender Emily literally made our night! We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat so she recommended that we get the carne asada fries & the chicken avocado melt and oh my god was it delicious. Even with the bar pretty full, the service she gave was attentive but also thoughtful. The beers she recommended we try were super tasty. Could have stayed there all night!
