I love mellow! I've been a long time supporter of this place with going there often. This review is only for the sweet tea. The pizza is amazing. The server was great. I've ordered the sweet tea before and it was mediocre. It wasn't that bad. Pretty sweet. Then today happened. I ordered the sweet tea as usual and it was horrible. It wasn't even sweet. I asked the server for some sugar or something to put in this unsweetened tea and the server responded with oh yeah a customer complained of it being too sweet and now we adjusted it to where it's not sweet at all. The server said almost everyone has sent it back, as well as I did. It's sweet tea for a reason. If I wanted unsweetened tea then I'd ordered it. Don't rearrange it for one customer with bad judgment on sweet tea. read more

Wasn't super excited about getting dinner here, but ended up really enjoying it. The pizza was really good - I had the great white. I will add that I think the prices are a little more expensive then they need to be though. I'm originally from Michigan and was super excited to see they had some Michigan brews there, but was disappointed to find out they didn't have any of them on tap. Our waiter was great and suggested a local brew that was good, checked in on us an appropriate amount even though he had tables on the opposite side of the place. I came in with a group of 25+ and they were absolutely awesome. The waiter got every order correct, we never ran out of drinks, the food was amazing, and since we were in a hurry he had the bill to us as soon as food was on the table. Everyone's bill was paid correctly and exactly how they asked. We gave them a round of applause before leaving because of how great they were. A pleasant stop between aquarium visits. A trippy server who had a lot of patience for our indecision started us off right. Pizza came out faster than the original 30 minutes predicted. Had one of the specialty pizzas with Parmesan flakes, garlic aoili, garlic, mushrooms and chives. Loved the crust which was made with an unusual flour mix--our server thought 'sorghum' but wasn't sure (I bake a lot and didn't think it was either a plain white or wheat). I walked into the restaurant at 10:20pm on Wednesday, 17Apr2013. Despite the website stating they're open until 11pm, they're closed. There were still people eating and drinking; beer was still being served. The door was unlocked, hence why I walked into the restaurant in the first place. The wait staff was friendly, the beer selection was good, and the pizza was pretty good. We were able to get seated quickly on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, the wait for our pizza was longer than expected, but we were just happy to be indoors with cold drinks, so the wait was not a problem...plus, the staff did a great job of setting expectations by telling us there would be a wait. It was AWESOME! On our way back from a Braves game, my friend and I decided to stop in Chattanooga to have a supper. He recommended this place saying that he's had their calzone in Burlington, NC, where he's from and he said it was hands down delicious. Well we had spicy Mamba pizza, yes it was delicious. However, we didn't like our waitress. Though she was courteous, it took forever for her to bring our pizza or a box to go or our drinks. They have great pizza. When the weather allows, it's a great place to sit outside and eat and drink and people watch. If you're a beer drinker, make sure to look on their website and join the beer club that they have. It is a rewards club type thing. The restaurant downtown is my favorite but they also have another location off of Shallowford Rd. We have been there too. It's a good one too but I just like the downtown better. read more

Fun for the entire family awaits at the downtown Mellow Mushroom. This location is often crowded with limited seating, but also offers outdoor seating on the street level. Ice cream shop just down the street. Overall great place for a casual meal or a group. read more

We have eaten at Mellow Mushroom restaurants in many cities across the nation since we move every 2-4 years. This Mellow Mushroom was by far the WORST experience we have ever had. We waited 40 minutes for a spinach salad. Another 10 for wings and when an hour had gone by and I gave the manager 10 minutes to bring out our food, I was given a burnt crispy veggie burger. We instantly got up and walked across the street. We were then served an amazing lunch in less than 10 minutes at Big River Brewing Company. So, if you feel like eating at this Mellow Mushroom, just head across the street for a meal that isn't burnt and served quickly. Since we walked out, I'd give it no stars... but you be the judge. read more

I know this is a chain pizza place but it doesn't feel like it. Pizza was really good. Several specialty pizzas out of the ordinary. Service was good. Great beer selection. Whenever we travel we make a point to stay away from chain restaurants and try local places but I would gladly grab a slice & a beer here! read more

Stopped by for lunch on my way to my meeting the sandwich I had was pretty good and the service was ok as well. The sandwich was priced high for what you get. Nine ($9) dollars for a sandwich and no fries or nothing. Yes, just for a sandwich and no sides. read more

This was the first place I tried Southern Tier Pumpking so it will always have a special spot in my heart. The pretzels as aps are great and you can't get them just anywhere. The pizza is good but not the best I've ever had. The bartenders are good but they never seem to have enough help. One bartender for the entire bar? Especially during a busy lunch on the Saturday of a holiday weekend... Overall, if I'm in Chattanooga I won't avoid this place but I won't carve out time to come back either. read more

Pizza was awesome. But when you bring a pizza to the table, there is no reason for it not to be cut all the way through the crust. Fighting to get a slice to your plate because it's not cut properly is unnecessary. Again, pizza taste awesome. read more

The food, as usual at this chain, was very good. Unfortunately, as usual at this chain, the waiters live in an alternate universe. I've been to Mellow Mushroom in 3 different cities. In Chattanooga today the waiter was so busy listening to himself talk that he forgot half our order. He never wrote down our order so must think he has an abfab memory. Luckily, the manager was paying attention and took 50% off the items the waiter forgot. Similar incidents in other two cities. Still, the food is good enough to put up with the strange levels of service. Also, this place is conveniently located across the street from the Tennessee Aquarium. read more

Stopped in for dinner, we tried the bruschetta and the spinach artichoke dip as our appetizers. They were both good. We then waited an entire hour for our pizzas and the restaurant was not even crowded. The three small pizzas we ordered were hot, the two medium pizzas we ordered were cold and already turning hard. We enjoyed the crust and some of our pizzas (mainly the hot and fresh ones). I probably would not go back, nothing I would crave and their are so many other pizza options. read more

They cooked our grilled chicken with thai chili sauce a little dark and ask if we like to take it and we did. It actually taste good! The manager gave us another one and did not charge us at all. Very slow, we waited for like 40 mins for the pizza when it's not even busy in the afternoon. Will not recommend this to anyone who is in a hurry. We love the Mushroom. I mean, it's a pizza place, so you kinda expect a noisy casual environment, and that's pretty much what you get. But the food is really good. We esp. love their red sauce, very flavorful and their sandwiches are really good, too, if someone prefers that rather than pizza. My husband is something of a pizza freak, and he loves it. Every time we visit my family Mellow Mushroom is on our list of must dos. We always get one of the many choices of draft beers, house salad and the house special pizza. The house special has every topping that you can think of on it and it is delicious. I strongly suggest for folks to go. Oh yeah, they have the best crust on any pizza that I have ever had. Mellow Mushroom's Pretzels and Beer Cheese never lets me down and in Chattanooga - this was no different this time. The customer service at this location was fantastic. Liam was our waiter and was very attentive and when a slight mistake was made he was very humble and kind. The manager compensated us for part of our food. We took a break from our visit at the nearby children's museum to eat lunch at Mellow Mushroom. While we normally try to eat at "non chains" and restaurants that don't exist in our home town, we made an exception when our daughter spotted it and recognized it. We love Mellow Mushroom pizza - a little splurge, but worth it. It was busy and a there was a little wait, so we sat at the bar and had great service and pizza! Highly recommend.
