My family and have always been big fans of mellow mushroom! In the past 3 or 4 months, I have went to this establishment 2 times... both of the times they were rather busy but my family and I were well taken care of. The problem here has nothing to do with the service staff or the quality of the restaurant... it has to do with the manager. On both occasions, my family and I were sitting near the kitchen. For those who haven't been to this establishment, you have a clear view of the kitchen from most seats from the restaurant which my children love because they can watch the kitchen staff preparing pizza. A few months ago, while my family and I were eating someone behind the pizza line screaming profanity at the other staff in a rage... we asked the server if that was the manager and they said yes. As a former server, this bothered me but I let it slide as I know it can be overwhelming in a rush... This weekend when dining at this restaurant, I saw something that I cannot let slide. They were very busy again and the service was great... but as I was looking into the kitchen I saw the same manager getting flustered with staff... I reminded myself they are busy and tensions are high... but then I saw this manager yell at the kitchen then he proceeded to throw a pizza at the wall..... THIS IS NOT OKAY... the staff was noticeably uncomfortable as i could tell my server was negatively affected by this managers outburst ... Again as a former server, I tried to let this slide but I can't... I couldn't imagine being one of the workers and working in that type of hostile environment. As a long time loyal mellow mushroom fan, I can say I no longer want to support a restaurant that allows a manager to treat their staff this poorly. read more

Do NOT order delivery from here. They contract with another company called Dinner Delivered, and the communication is not good between them. I ordered a pizza and a small salad, and it gave me an estimated delivery time of one hour. An hour and 15 minutes passed so I contacted Mellow Mushroom to see if my order had been sent out for delivery. The guy I spoke to there said my order was still sitting there and had not been picked up yet. He suggested I contact Dinner Delivered. I started dialing, and the delivery driver pulled up with my order. The person I spoke to at Mellow Mushroom obviously didn't really check on my order. My salad was tiny with wilted lettuce, and my pizza was cold. When you have to have a $15 minimum plus a $4.99 delivery charge, the food should at least be decent. read more

The pizza, salad and calzone were delicious. The service was good however they did portray themselves as anti-family. All the families were segregated in the back room without windows. It also was ridiculously far to the restroom. I understand restrictions for strollers and high chairs but the overwhelming majority families with children were seated here. I will not be dining here again simply because I like to spend my money where my entire family is welcome. read more

We really enjoy this place, although we haven't tried any of the entrees (other than pizza). It can get pretty busy at times, but we've always been well taken care of. If we're looking to eat on the cheap we always go for a half order of garlic parmesan pretzels (ask for Esperanza Dressing instead of maranara sauce) and a small pizza. It's plenty of food for the three of us for about $20. read more

It's been a while since I last ate here and I'm sorry that it has been so long! I was in the mood for a calzone. Naturally I thought of Mellow Mushroom. They have great calzones. They are filled with cheese and whatever filling you would like. I'm a purist so I chose pepperoni for mine. While I was waiting, I got a beer. They have a very good number of beers on draft and have a ton offered in a bottle. The bartender is very knowledgeable about the beers and recommended one to me. It was super good! (Chattanooga Brew imperial Pilsner). It took no time for my food to arrive and it was delicious! The crust was flavorful and chewy and stuffed with pepperoni and oozing with cheese! So good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly! I won't wait very long to go back!! read more

Plenty of open tables but there's a 20-30 minute wait? Our 4 top opted to sit at the bar. After a brief wait, we ordered our drinks. They were delivered expeditiously. We ordered two appetizers- bruschetta and pretzels. The bruschetta came out quickly. We then waited about 20 more minutes for the pretzels. The beer cheese dip, that we paid $2.50 extra for, was forgotten. By the time it arrived we had eaten 4 of the 6 pretzels. The food was great! A small will satisfy 2 adults. We tried two smalls to sample more of their signature pizzas and ended up with 5 slices left over (4 slices = small pizza). We sampled their half basket of pretzels, which my 6 year old loved. They even gave us to-go drinks which helped with the walking we did afterwards in the heat. Dined here on September 22 admittedly a very busy day for them just before the Ironman event. The pizza was just AWFUL! Probably the worst I have ever eaten in 69 years of life. If I wasn't so hungry after waiting for it over 45 minutes, I think I would have just left. We had the Funky Q Chicken pizza and "funky" is a good name for it. It was cold, hard, dry, and overcooked. You could not even hardly cut it with a serrated knife. Almost no sauce on it at all and definitely no taste at all (unless you are used to eating cardboard). And expensive in my view at $16.75 for a large. It is really hard to screw up a pizza this badly, but at that they were excellent. Never again would be too soon! read more

After checking the reviews here on Yelp, we decided to go to the mushroom today. I was pleasantly surprised when we were seated after only 15 minutes. We ordered Spinach Artichoke dip. It came out quickly and was very tasty. We were told that our pizza would take around 20-25 minutes to come out so we made ourselves at home. After about 15-20 minutes our waiter had already brought us our pie and comped our dip for taking so long. Service was great. The pricing wasn't too bad considering the size and mounds of toppings piled on the pizza. The only disappointment is that this location no longer has root beer on tap. They have the same stuff, but only in bottles. Bummer. All in all a great experience. Will definitely return! read more

Their idea of hygiene is ridiculous. I happened to glance toward the kitchen and saw one of the kitchen staff wildly waving a receipt of some sort over a plate of food....unfortunately, that plate of food was mine. I love Mellow Mushroom, but not this one. I hardly ever go to the Broadstreet one, but every time I go, the service is mediocre and I quickly feel forgotten. Managers don't seem to circulate the restaurant as much as they should. In the specific visit that made me want to write this review, our waitress got sat with a 25 top and had to transfer us to another server. This isn't what I'm complaining about. I'm a server, I get it. But the server that picked us up was really sarcastic and came across as rude. As a server, you should be kind and understanding. I understand the certain vibe Mellow Mushroom has, and the servers are supposed to the laid back and everything, but he was just annoying, and constantly left us with empty cups. Moral of the story: keep cups filled and conversation pleasant and people won't write bad reviews. read more

This place is great. The service was great and had a good sense of humor. We ordered the meatball trio as an appetizer and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The meat was of good quality and the red sauce and mozzarella cheese were delicious. When the pizzas arrived everyone was excited. The crust was just right with parmesan sprinkled on it and the cheese was deliciously stretchy. I ate so much that I got a stomach ache. But it wasn't a bad, ugh I'm dying ache it was a good "I'm satisfied but sort of sick" ache. The atmosphere was very casual and I had a great time. This was my second visit to this Mellow Mushroom and the food was lacking in quality. My niece and I ordered garlic bread and a medium pizza, half pepperoni and half cheese. The garlic bread was fair, but lacking garlic. The pizza did not have any sauce on it. It was the driest pizza that I have ever had. On my first visit here the food was great. I don't know what went wrong this time. I told management about it and they said that they were sorry. :( This will be my last visit. read more

Mellow Mushroom always delivers a consistent pizza experience. I do have one bit of warning, if you're going to go on the weekends and you see there's a huge crowd be prepared for a slip on quality as they are churning people through. The pizza is always awesome but some of your other items may vary. We had pepperoni and mushroom, again, awesome. However, our Capri salad was not that good due to the dressing which tasted about 94.386% vinegar. I thought I was going to have a pickled tongue. Again, this I believe is due to the rush. I have been to many mellow mushrooms and I have to admit that they never disappoint. On this visit we had gone to the aquarium in Tennessee and wanted to have lunch. Even though the place was very busy we were sad extremely fast the only thing that would've been better was if the booths were a little bit bigger. Our server was very friendly and right on point. All her food came up fast and it was delicious. Very consistent with other restaurants that we have visited from mellow mushroom. The staff at this location are super rude. The place is packed on a Thursday night at 10 pm and the bar tender yells last call?? People walk in right at 10 pm and the kitchen screams "We are closed". Soooo rude. Staff, you make money on tips and the customers who walk through the door providing said tips. We are so sorry that you guys are busy and making money. Let us know what hours of operation would suit your delicate schedules and we will stay at home with our gracious tips next time. Managers do better.... this is a direct reflection on your lack of management given that the female MOD was the one who gave permission to give last call one second after 10pm. The look on customers faces on the way out said it all, total frustration at being treated with such a lack of respect. And before the SIN champions come to your aide, I worked in the SIN most my life so yeah I get it but you owe each of those late patrons the same courtesy you gave the early customers as they help pay your rent.
